Efim tends to do the serious stuff like fillings and other more involved procedures and leaves the dental cleanings to his hygienists. Efim is gentle and is always doing his best to make you feel at ease. I remember coming here as a kid and not being afraid at all, Efim just has this wonderful air of making you feel at home and that everything is going to be okay. :) BUT, beware, some of the hygienists are actually barbarians and will funk up your mouth with their severely brusk "cleaning style." There have been many a time I have walked out of there holding my poor bleeding mouth and internally yelling WHHHHHYYYYYYY. But my mouth is truly a filth hole (I'm not much of a flosser heehee), so in actuality, I pretty much bring the painful cleanings on myself. And they only lightly lecture me on proper oral health. Aka, they don't always make me feel like I'm 10 and did something AWFUL. However, there is one hygienist there who has sweet little angels fingers and a sweet little angel face and when she does her cleanings it's like she's just caressing your lil' mouth with feathers and cherub hair. It's a beautiful and relaxing experience. Sometimes it even tickles! I'm pretty sure her name is Julia. I think she has beautiful blue eyes. I'm going to double check on that and get back to ya'll, because Julia deserves to be in some Dental Hygienist Hall of fame, she does amazing work. Arcadia has also been great with my insurance and always helps me resolve any issues. Their receptionist is accommodating and helpful and recently answered my questions about wisdom teeth removal. I called them to book an appointment and they are saying I am not eligible for hygiene check up until next August. I don't understand. I called another dental office through open care and they do accept my insurance and they are okay with my insurance coverage. and also as a student, I have done 2 dental check up in last two years but I never received a complimentary whitening kit that they offer for students and what kind of 800 dollars insurance finishes in 30 minutes of cleaning! I'm a big baby in the dentist chair and he understands and respects that :D He gently cleans my teeth manually because my teeth were too sensitive for the ultrasonic cleaner. There's a big TV on the wall facing the chair and I watch my fav program while Dr Baik does his work and time seems to pass quickly. A regular check and clean takes about 35 mins. Dr Baik and Kim, his assistant are simply amazing. Every time I go into the dentist office I always see Kim and she is so friendly and nice. I never have to wait as they are always on time. So now let me get to the good part. The best part of going to North York Square (NYS) Dental is simply because I have never met such an amazing dentist. Dr Baik takes the time to examine my teeth and does not try and rush though it. I never feel like I have been butchered like some other dentist offices where I feel like I was put though torture. So I would give Dr Baik 5 stars for just the cleaning. However, if I could give 10 out of 5 stars for real dental work (fillings ...) I would say Dr Baik is the best. I have went to a lot of different dentists and I have never had it where I walked in for a filling and walked out thinking did I just get a filling. He seems to have this special skill on how to freeze your mouth without you even knowing it unlike those horrible dentists who feel like they just jam that needle in your mouth. The receptionist made sure I knew ahead of my appointment that I can't eat or drink anything 8 hours prior to surgery, that I would need to pay up front, and I would need my health card and insurance information to sign all the forms. She also made sure I would NOT be able to drive myself home after, that I would need someone to take me home (my father in this case). I had Dr. John Gay as my oral surgeon and he was an absolute delight! We bonded over being (somewhat) name buddies too--Joy, Gay, same thing right? He was funny and explained everything I needed to know about wisdom teeth removal and after care. Dr. Gay explained different options for wisdom teeth removal, such as only removing 2 right now and 2 later so we could get reimbursed more from insurance (we went with 4 that day anyways). He even patiently explained to my father--a wisdom teeth skeptic--the importance of wisdom teeth removal, the future issues that may occur, and the fact that my wisdom teeth have cavities in them anyways so there's no point in filling them in! The dental assistant who did my panorex, gave me anesthesia, and checked up on me after surgery was super nice. She really knew what she was doing and had a really great positive energy about her! I actually fell asleep a little too soon after getting the oxygen and general anesthesia--it was early in the morning and I went to sleep way too late the night before. They managed to figured out how to get all the other things in my mouth for surgery, so bonus points to them! The surgery itself was super quick, it was only about 30 minutes in total! It was faster than the consultation, filling out forms, and some general waiting. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone thinking to get their wisdom teeth out!

Everything she recommended for my specific cases were accurate and honest. To be honest I would avoid going there because I knew that I wasn't keeping up my end of the oral hygiene deals we always made lol. But that's a good thing, It means I knew they would immediately recognize if I was flossing as I should've been, or if I was brushing properly (as advised). The teeth cleanings were always thorough, the teeth whitening exceeded expectations, and now I'll be going in a few weeks to have my wisdom teeth removed. My dental prices have always been consistent without much fluctuation. around 220 per session which I find to be pricy compared to other well known dental services averaging at about 150 per session.

Furthermore, they are persistent in trying to recall you back to the office by telling you, there are priority cavities. So, I decided okay, I will use my insurance to use it up before the school year restarts. Instead, I figured it would be better to go to a different dentist to use my coverage and I e-mailed them 5 days in advance of my appointment; they emailed me back letting me know there would be a cancellation fee of $75. How ridiculous is that? This is more than 48 hours alone let alone most companies ask for 24 hours of notice without a cancellation fee. My quote on my whole dentistry appointment was just about $4k. I recommend trying other dentists instead that are more useful, affordable and student friendly.

Its such a clean place & plus, Michelle and the other staff members were very sweet, approachable & professional. My life insurance company needed an APS from the doctor and here is…read morewhat happened: My life insurance company sent out an APS twice, September 10 & 27 - I called Dr Lee's office in regards to doing the APS and Novemeber 11 & 12, 2013. May answered the phone - told me not to call everyday and that the doctor is very busy. That Lisa made a note for the doctor to get to the APS as soon as he can. I explained to her that the APS has been sent since Sept 10, 2013 and it has been two months and if something should happen to me, that my family could come after them, because I need insurance and it is being held up by them. May then informed me not to threaten her, I said I am not threatening her, but the APS was sent on Sept 10 & 27, which is over 2 months ago. She said the doctor is very busy and hung up the phone. Needless to say that Dr. Eunice Lee has lost a patient, maybe now he can make a little bit of time for other patients paperwork. IF PAPERWORK IS NEEDED and if you are looking for COURTESY and NICENESS from the reception desk, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE!
