While certainly convenient, you'll definitely be dropping a min of $20 bucks regardless of whether or not you/your passenger is disabled or not. However, if you plan on going to the IMAX and going on a documentary binge, (which we were), you really can't beat it. We came here looking for the closest parking lot to see the Mummies, Blue Whales, and Antarctica. All have running times of approximately 45 minutes, so if you plan right you can eeasily do all three and certainly two of the three. Well not the cheapest parking around, this parking lot is centrally located and gets the job done. read more

I have a different experience each time I visit here. There is so much to see and do. Exploring the Rose Garden to picnics on the grass, Exposition Park had something for everyone to enjoy. Checkout a USC football game or other sporting events at the historic Coliseum. Take a family trip or self guided tour of one of the 3 museums on site; the Natural History Museum, California Science Center and California African American Museum. Take in a soccer game at the state of the art BMO Stadium watching the Los Angeles Football Club joining thousands of other high energy fans or the women's Angel City. Also Angelenos could enjoy the largest recreational spot in the county, the EXPO Center that includes the Olympic swimming pool and basketball courts. Membership is required and free to join. Such an awesome one stop spot that's a truly a unique gem in the community. read more

The good: The space is next to USC and is huge. There's a giant playground area that's modern with cool structures for both younger kids and older kids. There are covered picnic areas and giant animal stone statues on the grass. There's a rose garden and a fountain as well as museums. The bad: The playground had a lot of profane graffiti sprayed everywhere. The ropes in the playground were vandalized and tattered. The seesaw had caution tape on it because someone ruined it. There were homeless lounging around the area. It's unfortunate because the playground is awesome but not well treated by locals. It's super difficult to find parking. We parked for free at Holbox and walked over. The interesting: There are ice cream push cart vendors around the area. read more

Gotta love Exposition Park. It is by everything, and I grew up about 20 minutes from this park. You have a Muesuem, USC , Hospital, and a performing theater. Its a great place to bring pets as well Not too much nature surrounding it, but the park fills in the fun. read more

Major Attraction in Los Angeles, California... Exposition Park started off in 1872 and has developed, changed it's name, and expanded over the years. The park began as an agricultural park and is now one of the major sites for entertainment and education. Exposition Park was the venue for two Superbowls, two Olympics, and the World Series. It's the only venue in the world that was host to many famous events! I first visited Exposition Park about six years ago when I was invited to a birthday party at the California Science Center. What a wonderful idea! It turned out great! During this vacation, my goal was to attend the Santana and Earth Wind and Fire concert at the Banc of California Stadium. It was an exciting and amazing accomplishment! In the past, we tried to go to the Rose Garden, but the parking lot was full with a nearby event. Maybe next time, I will go to the Natural History Museum or attend a sports event at the Coliseum? read more

Very nice middle ground with plenty of touristy sights. They have museums, and other buildings of interest here. There's on-site parking/ street parking, and security out there to assist you with whatever you're looking for. They're eating spots across the street for a quick bite if needed. The grounds are well kept and clean. I can definitely see myself visiting just to sit outdoors and take in the views while people watching. read more

Exposition Park is a very nice area of LA, a museum complex surrounded by a beautiful Rose Garden. You can spend as much as you'd like at Exposition Park, a few hours or a whole day and you won't get bored. You have to choose among a plethora of nice museums, some free, some reasonable priced like California Science Center (fun and instructive or kids and adults alike), The African American History Museum (didn't have a chance to check it but it's bookmarked for my next visit), The Natural History Museum (great dinosaur exhibits, beautiful buildings, nice gardens, I need to go back since I have a few things left to see, yes, it's that big!). There's the Coliseum and USC across the way with a few extra museums to check out on their campus. If you're museum out, take a break inside the Rose Garden, sit on a bench near the fountain, have a snack or walk around to check out all the types of roses they have around. Wherever you are, the smell of those pretty roses carry. There are many food options in the are, inside the museums, around USC or Mercado La Paloma near by. Or bring a picnic, there are many tables where you can enjoy a meal in the shade. There's a paid parking lot ($12) or a subway stop right in front, very convenient. Expo Park has a bit for everyone, tourist or Angeleno, kid or adult, it's never a dull moment. I need to go back more often! read more

This is a great park to relax after work or in the weekends. Right next to USC, Natural History Museum, and Science Center. It has many restaurants and shops nearby to fill you growling belly, you won't be disappointed. From Chipotle, Starbucks, Subway, and more!! The park itself is well maintained very clean. There are people always cleaning it early mornings when I go jogging. Families come here often with their kids to play on the slides and swings. The have animal statues lile a big frog where you can sit on. It is also close to the Expo Line that takes you to Santa Monica Beach and Downtown LA to the opposite direction. Sometimes even faster if you were in can when in rush hours. Exposition Park is a peaceful place full of studious students and people interested Science and History. My dad use to take me here to play on a daily basis. I have fond memories here. Truly love this place. read more

BEWARE if you have any accessibility issues, are with someone with accessibility issues, or young children! I just *fell* hard on their exit walkway from the Natural History Museum & injured myself. The sidewalk there has a big TRIP HAZARD! This place is UNDER CONSTRUCTION and UNSAFE! This is a place my family & I used to like to visit when in LA, but now it is a mess, & it is still open and still pricey, crazy. I'm a fit person who hikes in the mountains and does not fall, but the sidewalks here are so messed up as to be dangerous for the public. BEWARE read more

Came here a couple weeks ago for the 4th of July fireworks show and had a wonderful time! There is a large lawn area where people could picnic, listen to live music performances, and view the fireworks later at night. I came with some friends around 5:30 PM and we were able to find a nice shaded spot among the many others who were picnicking at that point. We laid down our blankets and enjoyed just sitting and eating. I appreciate the trees that were scattered within the large lawn area, as they allowed for some shade even in the current summer heat. Overall, it's a nice little spot to picnic and even better with the added element of fireworks! I am excited to return in the future! read more

I've been here for a few events and tailgates. I love everything out LA, the architecture is amazing here! It's right next to the coliseum and easy to get to. Parking is steep here 26$ depending on the event, but well worth it instead of walking from a random lot. My recent visit here was for air+style and the venue was big but intimate enough where you didn't have was super far for anything. I've also been here for camp flog gnaw and it's pretty much the same. I love events in LA since it's close to home and a short lyft/uber to anywhere downtown! read more

July 1,2016 So many great museums and L.A. must sees located here. The collesium, African American history museum, California science center, natural history museum, rose gardens, Imax theater. Located next to the University Of Southern California, GO TROJANS! Parking is $12 on either side of the museum row. There is some metered street parking a few blocks away, but running back to meters isn't my thing. There is a park for children next to the Natural History Museum parking lot. Looks like lots of fun things for kids. Pack a lunch and grab a picnic bench or bring a blanket and sit on the lawn. Only thing that bugs me are the street vendors and ladies walking with strollers filled with snacks and water. And parking is a little high, but that's life in the BIG city. Took advantage of the free museum all-day in LA on Sunday, 1/29. Everyone had the same brilliant idea as me to visit this place. LOL The traffic getting into this park was bananas. LA drivers do not show mercy at all. But once you get in, they usher you to the underground parking. You must have $12 in cash to pay for parking. We visited the Science Center and the African American Museum. The Natural History Museum's entrance line was ridiculous. The line wrapped around as if we were at Disneyland so we'll plan to come here another time. Took a couple of photos while we were there. The weather was perfect and warm. They do have a food court inside the Science Center. You may need to pay for tickets to check out the Pixar Exhibition and the Endeavor. read more

I figure I'll write this review, since I checked in here when I was visiting the California Science Center and the Natural History Museum at the same time. Exposition Park consists of the spacious grounds where these museums are located. Also there are several very large parking areas (I am glad we were directed to park (for $10) near the CSC in the covered parking because it was about 5 million degrees that day) There are plenty of big grassy areas and only a few sidewalks. Therein lies the problem. In walking from CSC to NHM we opted for the grass part of the way and promptly found ourselves (and my new Sam Edelmans) surrounded by a ton of deep, soggy mud and muck. Now, I was under the impression Los Angeles was in one of the "worst" droughts in history (mainly because every other local news report and newspaper article is about how we need to conserve water-and we do, we do!) and here the ground was just saturated and oozing on one of the hottest days of the year. I can only imagine how much moisture had evaporated already. Very sad, especially when homeowners are being forced to let their lawns go brown. Anyhoo, most impressionable about Expo Park this day was the competing paleta vendors. Just as my boy saw the cart, and before he could utter "I want ice cream" another cart appeared and cut in front of the original one (nervy!), closer to us. We bought our icy treat ($2 apiece) and just as we were walking away, a museum official ran up and literally chased both carts away. Party pooper! read more

There's some bamboo bushes hiding between the Natural History Museum and the California Science Center. Pop in, walk around, touch the 'boo; nice photo ops in the 'boo. I think all-day parking was $10. We went during the day on a Friday, so parking was easy to find. I unno I barely remember parking because... there was massive A-12 Blackbird sitting in the parking lot. Well not literally in the parking lot but just next to it, but HOT DANG it's such a distractingly beautiful aircraft. How does one not nerd the fuck out when seeing this thing? Just read the placards: The A-12 flies at 95,000 feet, was used by the CIA to spy on just about erryone else throughout much of the Cold War, can fly nearly 2500 mph, it's almost a damn spacecraft; I mean like classic-science-fiction style space craft. The A-12 is a precursor to the SR-71; an even more impressive, but nearly identical-looking aircraft. So we spent a good 20 minutes just checking the plane out. We eventually moved on. Some colorful foliage throughout the park; so many colorful nooks and crannies. You catch a fighter plane popping out in the distant behind the Annenburg building while catching a whiff of some roses; the planes peppered throughout act as some sort of fucked up, elaborate garden-plane/gnome situation. I mean these are war machines lest we forget; still pretty cool. I guess the giant DC-8 airliner up front isn't a war machine. I don't really understand why it's there or it's significance; it seems like it has some sort of air intake at the front of the plane which seems pretty unique. Seems like a typical commercial airliner; but it's likely more significant; humbling display standing below the nose, looking from the front to the back. There was some crazy lady coming at me one point shouting something in Spanish; I walked-ran away so hopefully everything worked out. There was some peeps selling ice creams and one woman selling cheetoes out of a stroller; those flaming hots were tempting. Unfortunately we missed the African American museum; science and history trump culture, gotta set priorities on a limited time-budget. I wanna go back and explore more and just chill. There's plenty of green space to have a nice lil picnic or decompress or meditate on all the science and history and culture you likely just ingested. read more

The Exposition Park is a nice place to go for fireworks for the 4th of July. The fireworks are beautiful. You can bring a picnic or a small tabletop grill and cook out. There is also food to purchase. There is music and if you wish you can dance under the stars. Nice family oriented venue. This was my second time going and it did not disappoint. Exposition Park just south of downtown Los Angeles and next to USC is really a collection of venues that are the true attractions of the park. Some are free. Others are not. Parking is $10 except for game days when it may vary depending on where you park. * California Science Center - Permanent exhibits are free in this legendary museum, but popular new exhibits like the Space Shuttle Endeavor & Cleopatra are not. To see both it it costs $19.75. IMAX is here and tack on extra $ for it, too. * Natural History Museum - Entrance is $12 with additional fees for special exhibits like the Spider or Butterfly Pavilions. Good spot for a couple hours of learnin' about animals and rocks. * LA Memorial Coliseum - "THE Coliseum" is the still the home of the USC Trojans. Game days for any sports are lively. Otherwise, it is dull. Of course, photo ops for the Olympics from 1984 & 1932 are here. * LA Sports Arena - They still haven't torn this down? Nope. They upgraded it. Seriously. Concerts and some sporting events are held there, but rarely ones for you. * Rose Garden - Open from 9 am to sunset except Jan. 1 - Mar. 15 of each year. When the roses are blooming its beautiful and picturesque. * California African American Museum - It's free which is a win. Why not make it a part of a museum day? The combination of artifacts, stories, photographs, and art are well done. Overall, Exposition Park is a place where history occurred and still happens for Los Angeles. Since becoming a park in 1872 and then gaining its name Exposition Park with the museums and parks in 1913, this was the site of many landmark events and former home to almost all LA sports teams. Its prominence has faded over the years; however, there's no reason not to visit in 2013 and celebrate the 100-year anniversary of Exposition Park's official coronation as a key historical park for Los Angeles. read more

The best part is that this is a well patrolled area with multiple cheap and free things to do. Lots of food nearby as well. Hey maybe even a ghetto dog or danger dog vendor will be there if you dare to get one and enjoy such tastiness! Let alone with the USC campus adjacent to Exposition Park, there is a lot more history and stuff to check out. Overall its a great place to go and visit. If you have never been here, then you most definitely are missing out on one of the very special places in Los Angeles. Fireworks on Fourth of July! =) We actually didn't make it into the park, but just parked on one of the narrow streets of USC neighborhood with our emergency lights on, as with many other cars. Hehe The show lasted close to an hour so maybe we'll come back stocked with snacks next year. read more

I can't really say I like Exposition park all that well. When there's no events the place can offer a nice stroll. The many museums around here can really be nice to see. The rose garden as well as the museum of science and industry and natural history are really nice. But those places can get their own review. We're talking about the whole here and the whole gets brought down a lot because of the worse aspects of this place... It was not built for modern events. It may have fit the need for the Olympics in the 80's, but trying to get into this place for any modern day event is just a test in how much patience you have. Parking is non-existent. The Coliseum is really old. Really really old and outdated. Tear the damn thing down already and start a new. The city is never going to approve of it being a foot ball stadium again and if my memories from when the Raiders played here are any indication, it's not safe to ever hold a football team again. It's the middle of the road. While I'm tempted to come here for a concert this weekend, I'm put off because of the lack of the parking and the mass amount of people here just make it a pain in the ass. read more

Being a UCLA Alumni, it's always disheartening to see SC colors. It was good to visit Exposition Park again. There is a day's worth of activities here. Besides paying for parking, you can spend the day here without spending any money. The Natural History Museum does have a donation fee to enter, but if you read my previous review, I would wait until all of the renovations are done. You can also find the California Science Center here. This was recently remodeled, so it was a lot different from the last time I was here. Most of the exhibits are free. So you can't really compare this to the Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, but it is good for kids to learn about science. Again, there is a lot of construction going on, so I am excited for the future. I hope it can come near to what the Academy of Sciences offers. There is also an IMAX theater here. This is the largest IMAX screen in LA. We were short on time, so we didn't watch a movie, but I remember that they were great. Don't forget to visit the Rose Garden. This Historical Landmark, houses tons of roses. It is located in front of the North Entrance of the California Sciences Center. read more

I really like coming here, and I find my self not visiting as much as I'd like to. I've been to the Coliseum a few times before, but as I'm not much of a Football fan, it's mostly been for some concerts (last one was Metallica's Summer Sanitarium almost 10 years ago), the Olympics back in 1984, and some Soccer games my dad used to take me when I was little kid. I don't even recall when the last time I was at the Sports Area, which I'm guessing it was also back in the 80's as I still remember it being Blue, not the Grayish Sliver color it is now. The Museums on the other hand, are my favorite here. I really have enjoyed going to the Natural History museum when I was younger, and the the Science Museum even before before it was the California ScienCenter it is now. The Rose garden is also a nice place to spend an afternoon...maybe sit down and enjoy a book, or just walk around and maybe listen to your iPod and enjoy the sights. There have been other events here which I have participated such as the March of Dimes which is always great doing something for a good cause. I also have enjoyed just going to the park just to relax, hang out and even walk around. read more

So went to La Brea Tar Pits for a field trip, which was awesome for the kids and the area was fun to walk around and check out. Parking was easy, $15 bucks, just go early. There is also free metered 4 hour parking if you get there when it's opening, we just didn't see that til we were leaving:( bummer--so wish we would have known that! But biggest thing was we thought the Natural History Museum was within walking distance, it's not. LACMA is walking distance, not what we were looking for with a distractable 7 year old & $15 entry fees, but the sculpture garden/walk was very cool & will definitely be back. Exposition park is huge, so be prepared to drive in the heart of LA traffic to go to other museums/attractions. read more
