I really wanted to like Pan Pacific Park because the location is honestly prime. It's right next to The Grove, there's always energy, and on the surface it feels like one of those iconic LA parks that should be thriving. But the second you actually spend time here, especially on a weekend, it turns into something completely different and honestly pretty disturbing. The park gets insanely packed, which already makes everything feel chaotic, but the real issue is the condition of the facilities. The restrooms are beyond unacceptable. Not just "oh it's a public park" bad, but genuinely shocking, like something that makes you stop and question how this is even allowed to stay open. I'm talking about conditions that feel neglected to the point where it's uncomfortable just being nearby, let alone going inside. I went into two different restrooms thinking maybe one was just unlucky... nope, both were equally disgusting. I'll be posting pictures because it honestly doesn't feel believable otherwise. It gives off this weird in-between vibe where you don't know if you're at a city park or some kind of neglected shelter space, and that's not something anyone should feel at a place like this. What really made it worse for me is walking into the recreation building with the basketball and volleyball courts and realizing it's the same story inside. Worn down, under-maintained, and just lacking any sense that the city is actually investing in it. Meanwhile, you literally have the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust right there being renovated and cared for, which just makes the contrast even more frustrating. How is that level of attention happening on one side, but the actual park people use daily feels ignored? It's honestly disappointing because this place has so much potential. The location alone should make it one of the best parks in LA, but instead it feels like it's being left behind. I hate to say it, but I probably won't be coming back. There are just too many other parks where you don't have to deal with this level of neglect. read more

Pan Pacific Park, I missed you! This LA favorite of greenery, scenery, and recreation is located next to the infamous Grove LA as well as the Holocaust museum. You can enjoy scenic hills, walkways, built-in workout equipment, bbq grills, the jungle gym/train, swings, shady areas, wide open fields, tennis courts, baseball, soccer, basketball, you name it! There is plenty of room for all to enjoy this iconic park. It's definitely a great place to meet up with friends, old and new. Enjoy a day out with family, picnic dates, and/or some you time. You can still enter from the Grove Drive side while they're doing some construction near the Musuem side entrance, but there isn't really any parking on this street other than at The Grove itself. Restrooms near both parking lots as well as on the west side of the park, however during construction or perhaps just the weekend the west side bathrooms were closed - additional they have facilities inside the recreation center, which is open Monday through Saturday (excluding holidays). PPP has parking off Beverly Blvd in their main park lot as well as their Gardner Street lot by the Recreation Center, Pan Pacific Senior Activity Center, LA Public Fairfax Branch Library and Swimming Pool area. A Sunday Funday picnic was just what I wanted and needed this weekend - will come back soon for some more outdoor recreation and relaxation :) Stay tuned! read more

Lots of benches, play equipment, and dogs! It is technically a leashed dog area, but there are always many off-leash dogs of different sizes running around, so be wary if you aren't into wildlife or have a pet that is reactive. The construction is a touch loud on weekdays, otherwise I would walk my dog here much more often. read more

Definitely one of my favorite parks to frequent. Throw down a blanket and some snacks and just veg. Been coming here for years and yes parking can be tricky if the lot ends up being full but a circle or 2 around the side streets and you'll find something just fine. Pan Pacific is definitely a family friendly park with ball fields, 2 playgrounds, grills and picnic tables. There's even a few pavilions I guess you can reserve. Plenty of grass for your pooch to roam, run and play with other dogs. There's also quite a few snack vendors that roll around the park in case you forgot to bring something to snack on. All in all Pan Pacific is a chill park to come and while away a few hours. read more

But I was on the way to a YelpLAEvent this year and uncovered this super gorgeous LA park here. It is doubtlessly gorgeous here when I drove past it. It is located in the extremely upscale vicinity of Los Angeles, CA. On Beverly Blvd. I'll have to stop by here again next time I drive to Burbank, CA for more local businesses and take more pics from 'Pan Pacific Park.' I signed my child up for intermediate gymnastics after being in the (8) week long session beginner class and now on day three of the intermediate they are saying parents can't watch. It's no where on the fliers and not consistent. Rude and a waste of time they need to be organized so you don't waste time and money going to a class you can't attend. read more

Way bigger than I expected! I came for a Stonewall Democratic Club picnic/party and it was actually hard to find because the place is big and during any given weekend day, there are a dozen or more parties going on. Parking lot is really tight so I wouldn't even bother with that on the weekend... look for street parking. It's not hard to find if you're there relatively early. Lots of facilities and even a few water/fruit vendors scattered about on this HOT weekend afternoon. My strong recommendation is to get detailed directions if you're meeting a group because otherwise, you'll do what we did, which is hike through the entirety of the park because we parked on the complete other side. This place is big y'all. But a nice, well-maintained place to have a family get together, group party or just to walk around and enjoy some nature. If that's your thing. read more

I come to this park once a month to meet with the Silent Book Club but I'm not sure I can continue coming here. There are a lot of entitled irresponsible dog owners that let their dogs run loose and don't watch them when the rules clearly state that dogs should be on a leash. Today I saw a man walk up to a lady to tell her to mind her dog and she refused. She had an awful entitled attitude about it and cursed him out. Her dog was running everywhere and ran through our reading circle plenty of times. It's things like this that make it hard to enjoy the park when people think the rules don't apply to them. read more

Chill spot for humans to hang out at. Parking is relative easy with a lot and street parking. Has a soccer field, and playgrounds for younger and older kids. Lots of irresponsible, dog owners who let their dogs off leash without having 100% recall and don't pay attention to where their dog is located, so take that into consider if your dog is sensitive and reactive to other dogs. I've seen a couple of dog scuffles occur on my visits here. Just fyi unless otherwise posted, your dog should be on a leash. LA County does have an ordinance on leashes (Code of Ordinances section 10.31. 010). LOL @ the person who says this is a dog park. Just because it's dog friendly doesn't mean it's a dog park. I swear someone's dog is going to get seriously injured or die due to negligence. If you want to go off-leash, go to dog park. William S. Hart dog park is close, and a 10-minute drive. I love this park ! I attended a baby-shower here yesterday and it went really well . The park grounds are well kept and the different areas I.e the sports area , picnic area, party areas are are far enough from each other that you can thoroughly enjoy the space .I used to take my children who are now grown here when they were little and it has definitely changed . They have made many improvements over the years . My only complaint is that I wish they more bathrooms . The party I attended was at the bottom corner of the park and we had to walk a good ways to get there . read more

This park is open until 9 pm but the restroom is only open until 7 pm, why is that??? My daughter and I always come here after work, but sometimes she wants to go to the toilet and we don't know where to go and we have to go back home! Pan Pacific park is near my condo in Weho. Its a busy party part of town surrounded by hip restaurants and near the CBS studios where the film James Cordens Talk Show. This park however has become over run with hustlers, scamming people in basketball games. It's a real life 'White Men Can't Jump'. Lots of illegal gambling and activities going on. I came here to play H-O-R-S-E and just practice some free throws. Many years ago I played JV division 2 BasketBall so I like to stay sharp. My shooting game is live and I have a good average but because of a recent toe injury I was unable to maneuver the way I normally could. Thats why I just wanted to shoot around. But this park isn't built for that. An aggressive group of men FORCED me to play a game of pick up ball for money. All I wanted to do was shoot around but they said that was not allowed. The park is not monitored and they basically made me play a game for cash. 1) its 2023 who has cash anymore and 2) I had a foot injury so it wasn't a fair game. But I accepted the challenge and we played ball. First to 10 points. I don't want to toot my own horn but I rocked their world. I may not be the same body type I once was, but I got game. I juked them down the court, caught the rebounds, and even dunked on their asses. I won 10-7. When it came time to pay up they did not. Since the gambling was illegal there was no one I could complain to. There is also a lot of dog poop in the grass that owners do not pick up. read more

This park is right next to the Grove and across from the La Brea Park apartment complex. There's a soccer field, a tennis court, a baseball field and a swimming pool. Swimming pool is dry now. They are probably drained all the water for maintenance. The soccer field is so green that it catches eyes. You can either park at the Grove and walk or park on the side of the park on the 3rd street. read more

I came here to relax with a friend and while it's nice because there are trees and cute playgrounds, parts of the grass were brown and the whole park didn't have a great atmosphere. It could use some cleaning up, refreshing and gardening. Worth it for kids to play but I'd pick a different park for chilling. read more

My family and I were in Los Angeles for a family vacation and we ventured into this park a couple times. It was right near where we were staying and a great time killer when we had nothing planned. They have a beautiful, new appearing, playground for littles. There are two sections; one for toddlers and one for older kids. I love that separation because some kids can be mean to littles. My son loved everything and it was well shaded from the CA Sun. We saw some tennis courts and other amenities offered. There were a couple pavilions too for hosting parties. Only complaint I have is that there were loose dogs everywhere and a lot of people did not have control over their pets. I saw a human fight, over a dog, and it was absolutely unnecessary. Other than that, great little area for the kiddos. read more

The church who holds events at this space on Sunday continues to be disrespectful of the next group that comes in by being loud and standing in the event space area like they own it. I was attacked by a group of 3 youths while walking the park at night with my dog. They randomly started shooting at me and my dog with a toy gun. No security was around. I chased them but couldn't catch up as I had to carry my dog. Tip: avoid coming after 8pm, or bring something to protect yourself. Police took an hour to arrive. read more

I know what you're thinking: "Oh no, here goes Elite Yelper Orsolya D. yet AGAIN reviewing another Los Angeles-area park". I'm sorry, guys! I can't help it that I frequent parks (and many due to working goat yoga with my job). So, let's add Pan Pacific Park to the list, shall we? I'm sure you've heard of (been to/driven past/etc) Pan Pacific Park as it is a legend and historical landmark. For real: it is registered with the national historical registrar. Located on Beverly near The Grove, CBS Television City, and The Melrose Post flea market; Pan Pacific Park has been holding down the fort in the Fairfax District for quite some time. It was the home to LA baseball before Dodgers Stadium and gloriously housed the Pan Pacific Auditorium which was the go-to venue for indoor sporting events and shows and was featured in many Hollywood films before burning to the ground. In fact, if you have been to California Adventure at Disneyland; then you have entered the park through gates designed after Pan Pacific Auditorium. Nowadays, Pan Pacific Park is a very large acreage that features spacious greens on sloping hills, not one but TWO playgrounds/playsets for the kiddos, an amphitheater area next to the Holocaust Museum, basketball courts, baseball fields, picnic tables, paved walking/jogging paths and the recreation center which is modeled after the Pan Pacific Auditorium and provides the local community with sporting lessons, events, and activities. They even have a pool! The recreation center is the highlight of Pan Pacific Park as the 60s space age/modern architecture is straight out of "The Jetsons" celebrating the rare art deco and space age buildings we can occasionally spot in Los Angeles. A (free) parking lot is available but tends to fill up so give yourself a moment to find an open spot. This sounds amazing, right? Well... yes, on paper. The problem is that Pan Pacific Park is basically ghetto pretending not to be due to its famous history and location. In the early 90s, Pan Pacific Park was still 'cool' but has since declined. During my visit, I noticed the park strewn with litter and the grounds certainly not green and lush. Park-goers were quite disrespectful accompanied with about 700 dogs not on leash. Now, I ADORE animals - heck I work with them and was at the park working with my goats! - but it is a LAW to have your dogs leashed. This isn't a dog park! The entitlement blows my mind. I was continuously worried about my (leashed) goats being attacked. There was actually a full-blown verbal argument between a female with an unleashed dog and a male who almost had his leashed dog attacked. It was like the Jerry Springer Show at Pan Pacific Park and honestly: I side with the male. PUT YOUR DOGS ON LEASHES! The drama continued with many homeless individuals screaming up a storm including one yelling at lord knows who or what in the bathrooms. We could hear him straight across the field in front of the museum! This place is a little nuts, Yelpers! Definitely not a place for children unless with parents by their side for safety. Alone? Certainly not.  Complaints aside, Pan Pacific Park did provide spacious, level grounds perfect for conducting my goat yoga class and went off without a hitch (aside from worrying about the unleashed dogs). Thus, it was an overall successful visit. Pan Pacific Park is a plot of history in the Fairfax District and is therefore worth a visit but it is specifically for that reason that its neglect doubly-sad. Pan Pacific Park is not terrible (I've seen much worse) but it doesn't compare to some of LA's overflowing flora and fauna city parks. read more

Ignore the people that say this isnt a dog park. IT IS VERY DOG FRIENDLY! Totally fantastic park for your safe for people dogs. They allow off leash here with supervision and have a great morning and evening regulars group of dog owners and dogs here. Really big park, on a 1 to 5 of dog poop in the park its like a 1.5 of 5. so not so bad. We have 2 dogs here and walk them across the street from where we live daily for a get away. They love it. I would recommend this to anyone that has dogs. Also a great spot to run, throw frisbee, lay a sheet down and relax read etc. There are also some great Pokemon Go stops for the kids too. read more

Great place to take kids! Located across from the Grove. The have two play areas basketball courts pool great scenery and a lot of hills! Can get kind of busy in the afternoons but early mornings are a hit with my kids. If you go down the hills be careful that's were owners let the dogs off leash. But I'm a dog person so it doesn't really bother me or have I ever had a bad experience. My con would be once you move over the 3rd street side where the 7 eleven and library are there tend to be a small homeless encampment where you see some questionable things but if you stay where the playgrounds are you can't go wrong. read more

I love this park. I come everyday with my dog and the people thaf come here are wonderful. Lots of kids and dog owners. They just put in this magnificent new playground and it is generally safe here. BATHROOMS. The only thing that I find really disturbing whoever manager is, of this property, isnt doing their job. The bathrooms are not attended to, and the water isn't working. There hundreds of kids coming in and out of here and it's flu season and the main bathrooms...the water faucet doesn't work in the bathrooms and the soap dispenser doesn't work even though tt Meaning kids can't wash their hands or the parents. It has been like this for three weeks and it is now Jan 17,2020. I think it takes a plumber about 48 hours to fix something like this. It would be great for someone to take care of this so that no one gets the flu from dirty hands all over the magnificent playground hey refill the pink soap. read more

I grew up playing sports at Pan and it's nice that my kids get to do the same. They have done an amazing job keeping the park clean and reintroducing sports back to kids post shutdown. There is a big homeless rise in the area but they have kept that to a minimum. I recommend it for family outings, picnics, birthday parties and for sports. It isn't as competitive as it's been basketball wise but baseball (Wilshire Warriors), and flag football is getting back competitiveness and it's still friendly. read more

PPP is a medium to large park bounded by 3rd st., The Grove shopping center and Beverly Blvd. There's a nice atmosphere with families and singles. I like the free workout machines. There's also a sportsfield I think can be reserved for events. There's some homeless but every time I went it was pretty safe. Recommended LA city park. read more

Pan Pacific Park is located next to the Grove off 3rd/Beverly (between The Grove Dr and Gardner St). You can access the parking lot (free!!) either off Beverly or Gardner. Great place to run or power walk. The perimeter is around 3/4 of a mile and there are some incline/decline so it's a good run. I love that there are tons of people there doing various things. Kids playing, training sessions going on, basketball game, etc., I felt completely safe during the day, I probably wouldn't go in the evening just because it can get a little scary in that area. There are quite a few homeless people hanging out which doesn't bother me during the day but at night it's a different story. Overall it's a beautiful park in the middle of a busy city. Have tried walking my dog here again. It's been awhile after constant run in with reactive off leash dogs. And the first few times have been without incident. But of course.. today some lady had her dog reactive dog off leash. It ran up to mine and tried to bite my dog. The lady responded saying her dog just likes to bark!!?? As she finally made her way to retrieve her off leash dog, I made her aware that her dog attempted to bite mine and that she should leash her dog if it is not friendly. She ignored me. It's not that hard people, if your dog has a crap recall and is reactive to other dogs.. keep it on a leash. You are ruining it for others. read more
