I didn't need an immediate alteration so I can't speak to how fast the turn around time is if you're in a pinch but I brought two dresses in for alterations and both were done in less than two weeks. BUYER Beware! I never leave reviews but this place is dishonest and wanted to charge me twice. Very disappointed in the quality of a repair to my husbands shorts. His shorts had torn right in the crotch, and he really wasn't looking for any attention from the public so we decided it was time to take the shorts in for a repair. The repair looked suffice to my non-professional alteration eyes except for when he put these on for the first time post-repair he ended up getting another torn hem adjacent to the repair site. When I explained this to the gal at the desk, she had several reasons as to why the new hole appeared. She said this was a brand new hole and had nothing to do with the repair site. She stated the fabric was pretty worn in the area and that a repair couldn't prevent it from happening again. And then she tried to ring me up to pay again! I had already paid once for the repair and it didn't work. At the least this is what I'd expect: 1- fix this for free considering I already paid. 2-someone from the shop to tell me the fabic is very worn and a repair may not likely work (to which I wouldn't have wasted my money to begin with). 3- decent customer service I didnt get any of the 3. They are true artists when it comes to understanding and producing exactly what I want. Maggie and her team have always treated me with respect, kindness and upmost priority. I brought in a dress for a simple alteration -- to be hemmed shorter in the front, with the back left slightly longer (about an inch to an inch and a half) for modesty. It was a straightforward request, meant to combine a modern look with practicality. I picked up the dress the day before my event, only to discover it had been hemmed straight across -- completely ignoring the request I had made. When I called the shop, I explained the situation, but was put on hold and then had to explain everything again to another employee. Her response was curt and irritated, not at all apologetic. I asked if they could fix the hem in time for my event the next day, and her reply -- "Well, you better come in as soon as possible" -- was delivered with clear annoyance and zero empathy. When I arrived, things only got worse. A woman I believe may be the owner (Asian with long straight hair, I'm Asian too so I'm not trying to be racist) approached me and immediately, told me I was basically at fault for not checking the receipt. She compared it to ordering a hamburger with no onions and receiving it with onions -- saying it's the customer's fault for not double-checking. I was stunned. I asked her if she was seriously blaming me for their mistake. Her response was essentially: "I'm sorry you feel that way, next time check your receipt."-- a phrase that, as many know, often comes off as dismissive and insincere. As I was checking out, another employee stepped in to defend the owner, telling me I should have read the receipt more carefully. But how could I know what terminology they use or what to look for? I'm not the tailor. I made my request clearly, in person, and trusted their staff to document it correctly -- that is their responsibility, not mine. Rather than taking accountability or apologizing for the error, their team doubled down and redirected the blame onto me. I left feeling not only frustrated by the mistake but deeply disappointed by the complete lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic courtesy. The entire time the exchanges felt very patronizing and demeaning as if I were a criminal for wanting my garment fixed. No hint of humility or sincerity for their mistake was ever addressed. I do understand that wedding and prom season can be overwhelming for businesses like this. But that doesn't excuse poor customer service, or treating clients with disrespect when they are the ones inconvenienced. I have yet to pick up my corrected dress, and frankly, I'm holding my breath. I truly hope it's been fixed properly this time. Please think twice before bringing your garments here -- especially during the busy season. If a mistake happens, you may find yourself blamed instead of helped. And that's not just disappointing -- it's unacceptable. UPDATE: Next morning They have REFUSED to correct the mistake and redo the hem as expected per their unprofessionalism, the response I received confirmed that they would not take responsibility. After PROMISING to fix the hem, now they have refused to make right this issue. They called and have said we must pick up the dress and will not fix their error due to my honest experience and honest review. How unfortunate that this business has chosen not to stand behind the quality of their work. Please save yourself a trip. read more

I had a hem done on some pants, and it came out great. The ladies working were very polite and helpful. The turn around time was quick, just over a week for my alteration! They also made me aware that they recently changed to mainly appointments on Saturdays, luckily they took me as a walk in since they had an opening, but I recommend calling and setting an appointment for guaranteed service on Saturdays. I'm going to start by saying if you need alterations and you need them done well and quickly... the Westfield location is where it's at. Now I've not tried any other location and after the amazing experience I had I probably won't. My bridesmaids dress wasn't delivered To my place until a week and a half before the wedding. That's a whole different story. I knew it was going to be too long. Y'all I'm only 5'3 and knew I was going to have to have it hemmed but at this point we were down to the wire. The wedding was a week away and it needed altered. I walked in on a Friday and they had it pinned and marked within 20 minutes. The woman was kind and helpful. I walked out nervous but hopeful. They said they would have it ready by Monday. I was shocked the turn around was so quick. So Monday rolls around and the dress was perfect! Shout out to the ladies for rocking it and taking so much stress off myself and the bride. I was talking to all of the bridesmaids and heard so many bad alterations stories when it came to their dresses. I'll be using this location for any and ALL of my alterations needs. read more

Not impressed- had to come in 3 times. The second time they wrote my appointment down wrong so I came on a day they hadn't even started my alterations. My appointment card even had the correct date, but they put it in their system wrong. They couldn't find my dress and asked me to come back and look for it (turns out because they hadn't started it and they keep those in a separate area.) I was charged extra for a bust to be adjusted but never once was told in advance it would be an additional charge until I went to pick up and had an outstanding balance (I paid in advance the other). Additionally, a newer woman was helping me at my second appointment. She forgot to put her mask on, then proceeded to stick the pins in her mouth and try to pin the dress. I voiced I was uncomfortable and she apologized and did end up putting her mask on right away after. They said it would be done by a certain date, I came and was told they needed more time and to come back. Not a great experience, will not return. read more

I bought a bed skirt for my bed months ago and never put it on because I knew I needed alterations to make it fit properly on my adjustable bed platform. I talked on the phone about what I wanted done and then made a visit. They were afraid to do what I wanted but explained they had one person that worked there and if it could be done, she was the one to do it. Well they were exactly right! My first item was tissue thin harem pants that my puppy with her needle-like teeth attacked. They fixed the garment so well that there was no sign of the tear. I would highly recommend Express Alterations. My blue suit was a tad long on the sleeves/arms and very long past my ankles. I came in, they took my measurements in under 5 mins and paid was out of there. I picked up my suit today and it fits perfectly. I have had mixed experiences with my alterations here. I have two good experiences last year getting some clothes altered to fit better. But this summer, I had a bridesmaid dress altered because it was too big. They took it in so much it was a struggle to zip, basically I couldn't eat if I wanted to breathe. I figured it was a fluke. I went back again for another alterations for a bridesmaid dress this month. (Yes, I am in too many weddings. Downfall of large family) It was a quick request just needing a hemn. Simple enough. I picked it up on my way out of town for the wedding, and when I put it on the morning of the wedding it was drastically crooked. I am talking fine on my right side and dragginng like a train on my left. Perhaps it is just who is working that day? I am going to have to triple check items if I do return. read more

Had a special garment taken in. After visiting the shop multiple times and the ladies saying they couldn't do it and to come back whenever the "owner" is there. Went in today after waiting a few days and calling to make sure she was in, she was rude and made me feel very rushed. Didn't even seem like I could explain what I needed without her cutting me off when in conversation. I asked her and another lady can they measure my waist neither did, paid 20 for my compression garment to be taken in a few inches on the waist which I think is on high higher side. I will save myself the hassle and shop around before getting the "run around" again and receiving not so great customer service. Awful. I would've been better off watching some video online and teaching myself how to fix my own dress to my liking. I brought my maid of honor dress here 2 weeks before I needed it, to get the neckline fixed so it wasn't so revealing, and to get about 6 or 7 inches taken off the bottom, because even with heels, the dress was way too long for me. Once it was "ready" for me to pick up, I try it on only to find out that it was not hemmed at all. Only the neckline was fixed. So I stressed the importance of needing it fixed ASAP and they said no problem, come back in the morning. So I did right when they opened, only to be yelled at by an older employee for coming "too early". This lady was confused about the date and time on the receipt, and I was told by another staff member to come back and it would be fixed, as I calmly tried to explain to her, and she continued to argue with me. Finally another lady had to come in from the back to take over since there was no getting through to the original employee. They then said it would be a quick fix, 15 minutes later I left with the dress. Irritated that I had been yelled at by an employee over something she was completely wrong about. The next day when I put on the dress for the wedding, the neck ripped right down the middle (where they had "fixed" it) and I had to hold it together with safety pins through the wedding so I would not be revealing too much cleavage. Then the bottom of my dress proceeded to unravel 5 minutes into the ceremony. So yeah, go anywhere else but here. read more
