Absolutely terrible service from an initial phone call with Maria. I first called and connected with Marsiol, who was warm and welcoming. She then connected me with Maria, who essentially wasted my time. I asked for an explanation of the process, which was extremely confusing. Maria was extremely rude, very confused by my explaining my experience, and then questioned what I really wanted by calling them. She then acted confused when I sent over job postings that told me to contact the number. Extremely unprofessional service, and she accused me of being aggressive when all I did was explain my experience. I explained my experience and sent over my resume, and she said, "No offense, a janitor can do data entry jobs." Keep in mind that I have a master's degree, so this was extremely unprofessional and rude. Do not waste your time with this temp agency; they are not happy with their jobs, as they are there to find jobs for other people. As a recruiter, it should not be hard to review a resume, since your entire job is dealing with them. Listen to the other negative reviews because I have never experienced this level of unprofessionalism and rudeness from any recruiter before, and I have spoken to many professional recruiters who would never be as unprofessional and rude as Maria. read more

I have very little faith in temp agencies, and Express Employment is no different than the rest. Don't waste your time here. They can care less about you. Back in January, I filled out the application online and was contacted the following day. I spoke with Marisol on the phone who seemed very helpful and friendly, and I was pleasantly surprised that they reached out to me so quickly after creating my online profile. However, it has now been 2 months since that conversation and I have yet to hear anything back. Honestly, they probably just stuffed away my application among their huge stack of other applicants and forgot all about me by now. I understand recruiters get busy/overwhelmed with candidates, but I feel like what's the point of temp agencies then if they never actually help you find work. I'm so hesitant with these agencies because so far, after being in contact with quite a few of them now, they all turn out the exact same. Firstly after contacting them, it took me 4 weeks to call every week once to get hold of some recruiter other than receptionist. Then I went to their office one day explained my resume to them etc. I had to fill out so many forms , tax forms as if I am their employee. It's been 2 months I have not received a single email or call from them. Not sure if the whole process was only to take many personal data. As a job seeker, in this market I was excited to find them as they are located right in my city, where I could speak to a real human unlike applying to numerous jobs over LinkedIn and indeed. This agency asks me to bring in my info for direct deposit, along with my social security card and drivers license. After meeting with me, Marisol says" they will call me if they have anything and to check with Select Personnel." I am so disappointed. I never YELP but my recruiter Marisol asked me to upon our 1st meeting. Which I thought meant I would have a good experience. So here it is: I am in need of work. I made that abundantly clear. Meaning, I am not fussy and will take any job offered at this point. I have many years as a professional recruiter in a similar industry so I actually know how to do their job and I will say, communication is key. My visit to this office was actually pleasant and professional. I was initially impressed however from that point forward, I have been completely underwhelmed and disregarded. I have unanswered emails, I have requested 3 times now a typing test that I was told I need to take, I have left several messages for my recruiter re: the status of my app, I have submitted interest in posted jobs via their website, I have spoken with Diego and Salina about my concerns of no movement from my recruiter, both seemed apologetic and assured me I would get a call back. I was told last Fri by Salina, that "I would be her 1st call Monday morning". I waited until today, "wed" (after I called yet again, to be told all of them were at lunch) to finally write this review. As mentioned, I have years of experience as a recruiter in this industry and let me just say, a candidate like myself who is willing to work ANYTHING from warehouse to corp level...would have been considered a gold mine. I just do not understand why there is such a lack in communication or regard. As is unemployment is a stressful time in and of itself. If there is "no work" at the moment, or something wrong or missing in my profile, fine! Just answer my calls or emails to update me. When someone is in desperate need of work, compassion and understanding go a long way. By the same token, lack of it is extremely frustrating. I would not use them again for employment searches. I was in contact with Marisol. I go to their office to meet with her and do their required paperwork only to have her go ghost. I sent a couple of follow up emails to her and she never responded to them. That is so unprofessional. Why have me register with the agency, come down to the agency and never keep in contact with me. Maybe they get paid for every resume they collect and that makes them look like they are working to the company. It was the worst experience I ever dealt with. They kept promising me a permanent position at a job they connected me with. When i completed my hours for my assignment it wasnt promised at all. They kept delaying my time with the company and nothing happened. They are really unprofessional, lack a lot of communication talking to people, and make promises they dont keep. If I could give this place a -5 I would. Don't waste your time or gas by going to their office. I should have walked out as soon as I saw everything was ass backwards, they had the only male in the office as the receptionist and all the recruiters were women (for lack of a better word). Not only did I take the time to fill out their online application at home but they also made me fill out a ton of paper work while i was there and even gave me some sort of skills assessment quiz. They even asked for my drivers license and SSN as well as my bank information to set up direct deposit. I met with Liz and she came off very sincere in person, but weeks have gone by and I haven't heard from her even when I call her she's unavailable. I wouldn't be surprised if they ask for so much information just so they can turn around and sell it to telemarketers and God knows who else. The other office they have in Palmdale never even spoke to me on the phone, they were always "busy" and asked me to call back later every single time. I was referred to this office by the staff at the West Hills office because they had work available on the shift that I prefer to commit to with my schedule. I contacted the recruiter and she told me that they needed to retrieve my info from the West Hills office before they could place me on a job through their office. She said "I'll be calling you very soon" so I waited 2 days and then I contacted them again. The person that I spoke to took my contact information and said "I will figure out who you spoke to and I will have them call you". It has now been over a week and I haven't heard from them.
