Michael got my DUI dismissed! I was recently pulled over for a DUI. At 55, a first. My BAC was under the legal limit of .08. But I found out, when I was arrested, you can still be charged with a DUI. Even with a squeaky clean record like mine, this is a potentially serious criminal offense that can derail your personal and business life. I was referred to Michael Parker, who immediately answered my questions on the first call and quoted a very reasonable fee. He agreed to my request to meet the next day in person. He was very well versed in the law, knew the courthouse and all the prosecutors and judges ... even the room where I was expected to appear for the arraignment. On top of it, he presented himself as a very good communicator, persuasive and likable. I retained him and he immediately sent a letter to the City Attorney asking them not to file the case. Although they ultimately chose to file the case, I was impressed with Michael's assertiveness. Michael then represented me at the initial arraignment, which allowed me to not have to appear, and my wife and I could keep our plans to go to New York City over the Holidays. During this time, I was able to stay in direct contact with Michael through phone calls, emails and texts. He called me the minute we landed in New York to update me on the filing and then again, directly after the arraignment. Michael was able to get my DUI charges dismissed, if I accepted a plea bargain. He was offered a Speed X, which means no DUI. But because there are various provisions that could be bargained for further, he arranged for a pre-trial, rather than just accepting the deal. Also moving the case to a "friendlier" courtroom. He suggested I go with him to this, although I had the option of Michael going solely in my place. My presence, however, was strategic in bargaining for a better deal. Michael was able to persuade the City Attorney to drop the provision of a 3 month alcohol class and limit probation to 12 months rather than 2 years, and limit the fines, due to my low BAC (.07) and clean record. In Oct of last year, I had the misfortune of getting hit head-on by a driver who didn't understand the importance of taking into account wet pavement when negotiating a curve in the road. I hired Michael do do a car accident for me and my three kids. We were driving back from Magic Mountain when a big rig rear ended us. M.R. Parker is, truly, a great firm. I was referred to them after I got into an accident, that totaled my car, back in February. Initially I didn't want to go through a lawyer and simply let my insurance company handle everything because I had witnessed my wife's sister go through the process, and hers took over a year and a half to resolve and she only ended up getting about $1800, in the end. I have nothing but great things to say about M.R. Parker Law. They sent me to incredible doctors who helped manage my pain, they fought with the insurance company on ny behalf (insurance co. initially insisted they weren't going to pay me at all), and M. R. Parker Law ultimately got me a good settlement in Mediation. I had a very scary fall that could have been life-threatening (Urgent Care doctor said she was surprised I hadn't broken my neck). The fall was due to the establishment's negligence (dangerous raised tree roots covered with astroturf in the middle of the floor of a dark club -- who would expect that?). The lawyers at M.R. Parker warned me that claims against faciilities were often difficult, but they took my case, provided photos of my injuries and the negligent tree roots, and won a good, fair settlement.
