In my book, Dr. Modi is the best primary care physician . I think he is smarter than some other primary care physicians I have had.

Express Family Clinic - Allen, TX (Dr. Parihar & Dr. Modi) I strongly recommend thinking very carefully before choosing this clinic. Front office and access to care The front desk and phone management are some of the worst I've experienced. They rarely answer calls, don't seem to distinguish between urgent and routine issues, and give conflicting instructions (telehealth vs. "come now") within minutes. When I was calling repeatedly with serious symptoms--itching, jaundice, and clear concern about my liver--they still didn't treat it with urgency or help me reach the doctor in a timely way. My experience with Dr. Parihar I initially went to Dr. Parihar based on a recommendation. I had ongoing stomach issues. During my visits, a lot of the conversation drifted to unrelated topics (like food) rather than focusing on my symptoms and history. He ordered a breath test and urine test, but no stool test, and diagnosed me with amebiasis, supposedly from a trip to South America three months earlier. He said this condition "does not exist in the USA" and prescribed a 15 day course of Flagyl (metronidazole) without having done bloodwork first. After about 4 days on Flagyl, I developed severe nausea. By days 8-9, I started turning yellow and became extremely itchy--clear signs of jaundice. I repeatedly called the clinic, told them my symptoms, and still had trouble getting timely access to the doctor. Dangerous delay and lack of follow up When I finally saw him, he seemed unsure why he had prescribed Flagyl and again asked when I had traveled. He then ordered blood tests. I did the labs on Wednesday and got the results Thursday afternoon--my liver numbers were 5-6 times the normal range. I called the clinic multiple times that day. Despite these alarming results, I did not hear back from him. The next morning, I finally got an appointment and was told to get a CT scan. I completed the CT the same day. The radiologist considered the findings serious enough to call Dr. Parihar directly. Even then, I received no call from him that evening, despite calling the clinic several times between 4-5 p.m. The next morning, the imaging center emailed me my CT report. It showed a lesion in my pancreas, which understandably caused a lot of fear and stress for me and my family. How I finally got proper care I shared the report with friends and family who are physicians. They advised me to go to the ER immediately. My now PCP (a friend I wish I had gone to from the start) directed me to Baylor Scott & White in Frisco and coordinated with a gastroenterologist there. At Baylor, I was admitted, had an MRI, and was ultimately diagnosed with an autoimmune issue. They created a clear treatment plan, and the care from that point on was excellent. I felt heard, informed, and safe. In the meantime, Dr. Parihar left me a voicemail suggesting I see an oncologist and get a biopsy. Given everything that had already happened, I chose not to continue under his care. What I learned from this experience * Question long antibiotic courses: If a doctor prescribes antibiotics for more than 3 days--especially something like Flagyl--ask what specific tests or evidence support that diagnosis, particularly if no bloodwork or appropriate tests have been done. * Choose an accessible PCP: Your primary care doctor should be reachable when you're sick, not only when it's convenient for the office. If the staff constantly says "he's busy" while you're calling multiple times with serious symptoms, that's a red flag. * Take your symptoms seriously: If you feel something is very wrong--like jaundice, severe itching, or rapidly worsening symptoms--don't wait for a non responsive clinic. Seek urgent or emergency care. Bottom line This clinic cost me 4-5 weeks of time, significant stress, two nights in the hospital, and substantial medical bills. More importantly, I felt unsafe and unheard during a serious health issue. I would urge anyone considering this clinic to be extremely cautious and to find a physician whose staff is responsive, whose decisions are grounded in appropriate testing, and who takes your concerns seriously. read more

The front office was great. The problem I had was that I told the doctor symptoms I'm having instead of taking a look at it he prescribed me with medicine. I went on a Saturday and felt like he was just trying to get people out the door. read more

I got checked in by the front desk and sat in the doctors room for 30 minutes without ANYONE saying anything. So I finally go outside to ask about the wait and then I find out that the doctor was not there and still at the hospital. The staff/nurses/doctor had no respect for the my , the patients, time so I left without any care. read more

Unprofessional front desk. Receptionist/nurse in front talk down at you if you have any issues. One girl even hung up on me when I asked a question regarding a prescription. This office used to be nice a few years ago but things went downhill especially after Covid. I'll be looking for another PCP elsewhere. read more

For Express Family Clinic FNP, Nurse Practitioner-Family Darshna Shahiwala We myself & my Wife are patients with Dr. Pradeep Parihar since January 01st 2019 till today. Today we were seen for the 1st time by Ms. Darshna Shahiwala; she welcomed us with her big calm smile, we also were happy with her understanding and listening carefully to our health complains and needs, she ordered Lab work to evaluate our recent health status. After 2 days the Lab Results were received, and reviewed by Dr. Parihar & Ms. Shahiwala and she called us for Virtual Visit to discuss the Lab results; and gave us the required advice to follow according to the new Lab results in addition she ordered medicines refill needed. We want to express our sincere appreciation for the promptness and professional care given to us, Our experience at this facility was of the quickest and best we have ever encountered. We want to express our satisfaction with the staff at the front desk, to the nurses, Super professional Lab Technician and of course to Ms. Shahiwala. Each and every one of them was courteous, professional, and made our visit ( even as walk-in patients) as comfortable as they possibly could. I recently joined the practice of Dr Parihar as a new patient and if the first appointment is anything to go, we are extremely happy with the doctor and the practice. We got seen by by two doctors as well as the nurse practitioner and their bed side manner was exceptional as they took the time to sit down and discuss our medical records and what checks / treatment we should consider related to our wellbeing. We are looking forward to being able to be looked after. This visit was head and shoulders above our previous doctor who we never saw since we joined the clinic considering that we were patients of the practice for over 1.5 years. Don't go to Express family clinic Had a telemedicine appt with Dr. Parihar. His office called me three times the day of the appointment to get the copay. Then they called in part of the prescription. I had to call them a few times to get the correct prescription. I went to the pharmacy and paid $150 from deductible only to find out that they again called in the wrong prescription. Today I called their office and asked to speak to Dr. Parihar. They didn't call me back. Had to call them again and finally spoke to Dr. Parihar. He had no clue what he had called in. When I told him, I have shelled out money for the wrong prescription, his response to me was- what mistake is done is done. Come to my office. I'll give you a free sample to make it up. What a refreshing experience with Express Family Clinic in Allen, from easy access to the lab results, to follow up, and for reminder. What's really importantly is Dr. Pradeep Parihar is a knowledgeable, friendly, astute in his diagnosis, and a truly caring doctor. We know the office is busy, however Dr. Pradeep really takes his time to explain things to us. He is different from our previous family doctor out of state as he really listens and remembers what you said before. The staff are on top of things and helpful given the fact the clinic is usually very busy. We are grateful to Dr. Pradeep, and everyone at the Express Family Clinic. read more

Dr. Parihar is a wonderful doctor, he was very knowledgeable and kind most of all he listen to your concerns. I had to travel outside of the United States for surgery and he did all my necessary lab work and testing. A lot doctor's didn't approve of my travel Decision and would not take me as a patient, he did. He wished me good luck and from that moment I new I chose the right doctor for myself. They always need a reason to 'Bill' - I have been a patient with them over 3 years now and it took me several calls to make them understand that I want to avoid lab work during COVID , they would not sent a prescription for refill without a office visit.. it's all about collecting MONEY here . I followed my NP, who I just loved (and I'm an RN myself) to this clinic. She is still terrific, but the support/admin staff are unresponsive at best, incompetent at worst. I was always mannerly, complimentary, positive, etc. I waited over a year, doing everything I could as a patient and an RN, I was that attached to my NP, and finally gave up and found another source for the Prolia. I have bone issues related to a daily pill for breast cancer. It is a known risk of the pill. First, someone (certainly not my NP!) put on my record (seen on the portal) that a finding of osteopenia was "normal." Um, no. Next they said I couldn't get a bone density scan ordered because it had only been two months (since they got around to downloading the report, not since the date of the study). But I could come in and see the NP (I didn't need to, but that's what it took!!! Then they said they could not order Prolia (I was long overdue). I actually researched it, talked to Amgen, got the contact info for the local rep (it's not like they don't have drug reps in there all the time like all clinics do), and they still would not order it. My Medicare Part B + supplement would have covered 100%, plus they would have made a profit (I think that's the motivator, not good care). They were happy to (as my NP put it) "just have [me] bring in the vial." My out of pocket would have been NINE HUNDRED DOLLARS!!! They were not moved. I opted to find other care when I called to try to get the "clinic manager" ("Lulu") to understand how to do this. She hadn't come in by ten. I called again at 330, and I was put on hold to be connected to her, and they came back and said she had already left. So not just incompetent and uncaring, but they also obviously lie. I am much happier where I am (I wish my NP would move there!!), and I finally got my Prolia, and am assured this will not be a problem at BAYLOR SCOTT & WHITE in McKinney. I do believe my NP tried to get me the care I needed at Express, but if she couldn't do it with that bunch, no one could. IF YOU ARE OVER 65 AND FEMALE, GO ELSEWHERE or risk a hip fracture because they WILL NOT order Prolia. read more

LIES. Scam operation beware. If you schedule an appointment, be prepared to have them gather your personal information twice. The lady that works the phones is not the problem, she is nice. They do not state the web appointments are only for certain things. Once through software named ZocDoc that will sell your personal information. Then, directed to a portal to start it over. I took a day off of work. I am sitting awaiting my web appointment to start. Nothing. No call. No text. No email. I call. They said they left me a voicemail. The portal clearly states "we know you are checked in and will be with you shortly". Lies. Lady say, you'll have to come in for your condition and we cannot see you today. The Dr was very friendly and helpful but the STAFF is trouble!!! I called for a problem I was having (insurance stuff) And was told time and time again that someone would call me back and days and even weeks go by with NO call backs from anyone. In the mean time my problem went unsolved. My next step is either just make an appointment to go in and see the doctor and inform him what's happening or just go with another doctor to manage my health issues. read more

The wait time was less than 5 minutes, granted I did have an appointment and I wasn't a walk-in. This place is pure TRASH. I've never left a Yelp review, the service was THAT bad. Poor organization, and communication. You'll repeat your concerns multiple times, multiple ways to multiple people and they still won't understand. Rude, "Dr." Pradeep Parihar is the only "doctor" I've met who seems to care less whether you receive treatment or not. I've driven out to this place twice, paid a copay and never received treatment. Save yourself the time/trouble and go to Legacy ER and Urgent Care. They are clean, polite and professional. Got me in and out WITH treatment in 30 minutes. We had excellent experience at Dr. Modi's office regarding my parents' immigration related health check. We found Dr. Modi through US government website as certified physician for immigration health check. Dr. Modi and the staff guided us through all the processes and paper work. All the testing were done very carefully. Dr. Modi is the nicest person; he personally answered all our questions and guided through the next steps. Additionally he also examined my parents thoroughly and provided valuable suggestions. I highly recommend Dr. Modi for all your medical needs. read more

WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER! Made an appointment online for my 72 yo mother to be seen as a new patient. Mom had Medicare and all the appropriate insurance information was provided when making the appointment. Called the day before to make sure they had everything they needed and a lady by name of Nancy answered the phone. Nancy proceeded to tell me that my mom could not be seen because we didn't have the actual insurance card as my mom was just visiting and had left it at home. Nancy abruptly interrupted me and said it was Medicare's policy not to see anyone without a physical card. This was even the case for a patient that was not feeling well and needed to be seen by a Doctor. I decided to call Medicare to confirm that this was their policy for insured patients. The representative denied such statement and said that all they needed was the ID number and a state ID to verify identity. This was all provided at the time of making the appointment. It is makes me sad to know that they're employees like Nancy that treat potential new patients this poorly. She was careless, disrespectful and has no sense of customer service at all. I hope that someone in management or the Dr himself sees this. He definitely needs to hear this feedback. read more

I was initially upset because I had to wait a long time to see the dr, but the dr really went above and beyond to take care of me. The office manager even came and spoke to me.
