Everything was closed, so I got a room at a hotel in El Centro. Enterprise couldn't switch out my car until 4pm and I had no place to wait several hours. They suggested getting it looked at and gave me the address for Pep Boys. The man who spoke with me was Esteban. He took my car in right away, and I headed to the waiting area. In less than 3 minutes he came in and said my car was fine. He showed me the temperature gauge and I had been misreading it. He didn't make me feel ridiculous, especially when I called the temperature symbol a "little ship". It does look like a sailboat. Since there was no issue he said he wouldn't charge me. And I was finally on my way home and back to my cool temperatures. (Sorry, El Crentró, but that's too hot there) Thank you El Centro Pep Boys, and thank you Esteban.

I came in with a very specific service request and even provided clear, detailed instructions. Despite that, the staff immediately started pushing for a full diagnostic and began listing a bunch of unrelated issues they claimed needed attention. I told them up front that I did not want a diagnostic--I just needed a simple software update. To make things worse, the main mechanic wasn't even available, and the staff seemed completely disorganized. They couldn't even locate my vehicle in their system, even though they were holding the VIN number in their hands. It felt like they were trying to upsell unnecessary work instead of listening to what I actually asked for, and to be given a ridiculous quote, when the so called mechanic has not even seen my vehicle was the biggest red flag. I didn't feel comfortable leaving my vehicle with them, so I left and took my business elsewhere. Definitely won't be returning.
