"John" isn't a real person, his name is Francois. He is a scam artist. He will ignore your phone calls, disregard your concerns prior to your delivery. He will lie to you, and cancel last minute. There have been multiple occasions of him damaging peoples' keepsakes and not being honest. Francois hires men that are in desperate need for a job and doesn't pay them well. STAY AWAY. These are the guys you are worried you will end up with if you make the wrong choice. They didn't show up and would not answer their phone. Finally we got a hold of them 4 hours after they were supposed to show up. They said it was too late but they would send someone in the morning. We unpacked the POD ourselves leaving only three heavy companies. Express Movers SENT ANOTHER COMPANY, and then charged the original full price to move three things. Impossible to discuss, they just hang up on you. Dishonest, shady, strong arm tactics. Just the worst. read more

I wish I didn't have to write this review. Bottom line: The two-man moving crew was friendly and very helpful, but their boss, who handled my reservation and payment, did a terrible job and, it seems, was dishonest. I booked a 26-foot box truck for a move from Redding, CT, to Brattleboro, VT, which was quoted as an eight-hour job at $1,190 (2 x $595). I made very clear that the truck needed to arrive at the pickup location by 9 a.m. When the truck did not arrive on time, I called the driver to find out where they were, and he said they were waiting for me... in Brattleboro, VT. Their boss had reversed the pickup and drop-off locations, which delayed the start of the move by more than three hours. When the crew finally arrived in CT, they were in a 16-foot truck, and the driver explained that the 26-foot truck was in the shop, which their boss knew but never told me when I made the reservation. As a result, after cramming the truck full, I needed to ask the crew to make a second trip the following morning (could have been done in the same day, if we hadn't gotten such a late start). They did that, and while they were in transit, their boss texted me to say I would need to pay for another four hours (another $595). I did not agree, because if he had sent the 26-foot truck, as expected, the move would have been completed within the eight-hour period. I did not reply to his text. Fast forward a few days, and I got my credit card bill with a third charge of $595. I called the owner and explained why I thought the charge was unwarranted. He did not agree. Nor did he acknowledge sending his crew to the wrong location in the first place or knowing the 26-foot truck was unavailable when I reserved it. I requested a refund, but he said he would not do that. I offered to negotiate a compromise rather than order my credit card company to stop the third payment of $595, but he said he was not interested. So I have declined the charge, which means I have to deal with the inconvenience of waiting 10 days to receive a new credit card. Very frustrating. With this had turned out differently. Reason for two stars instead of just one: The crew was really good, very helpful and understanding. read more

Hired four guys for a long, cold day's work two weeks ago. They were very professional. Rates were great. Kate is very organized, easy to talk to, up front about everything, very professional. What a disappointing turn of events. This company started off great. Answered all my questions and really transparent about pricing. During the move, the movers damaged a family heirloom dresser. They did not inform me or apologize. I've reached out three separate times for a resolution and have not heard back at all. The damage is bad enough where the movers would have felt or heard it happening, and they didn't say anything. While the movers themselves were friendly, it is inexcusable to just blatantly ignore a customer's concern. There was also little things, like showing up late and with one less person that I hired (although they did adjust my rate). They also dropped a piece of my coffee table down the stairs, and did not apologize for that, either. It now doesn't sit right. I was originally going to leave a four star review, however, after not responding to my concerns (after they've been paid, of course) I feel this is a 1 or 2 star job in terms of customer service. Had they responded or offered a solution, perhaps the experience would have been more positive. read more

This company is outstanding! We hired them to move our belongings from Connecticut to Massachusetts. They arrived on time and got to work quickly and efficiently. We had packed up a lot of stuff and had large furniture to move as well. Francois and his team planned the move so they were able to load our trailer to fit as much as possible. They never stopped, and the move was completed very quickly. They then followed us to our new home and unloaded and placed everything just the way we wanted it. Everything was wrapped and protected, and NOTHING was damaged. These guys just went above and beyond! They were friendly, focused, and clearly took pride in their work. The team of 3 showed up an hour late on A Saturday morning booked for 9 am claiming traffic but on their age and appearance it seemed they overly slept after a long night out. They moved slowly, not being Logical in how they fit the many pieces of furniture I had for a small truck. I had expressed concern at the booking, and even a week prior to the move that the struck size they recommend would be too small. The day off, the last box barely fit and I had to put several boxes that I carried myself to my own car. When booking, I requested that once my room had been emptied, that the movers help my current roommate simply move her bed from her room to my room. The boss assured me that they would provide this service. When it came time and I asked, the movers refused and blamed it on them being 2 hours behind schedule because of my amount of things to move, not them being 1 hour late, or the fact that I have the, an itemized list of everything they'd be packing prior to that day. Th refused, claiming they had two more jobs, which was weird because this job wasn't finished and they could have showed up 9 ( not 10) or come at 8 if they have scheduled 3 moves in one day. Two movers refused to help, one came up and tried to lift it with me but it needed to be lifted at an angle that two guys with more strength ( men with moving experience) could do) so we couldn't do it. It's upsetting because I was promised a service I didn't receive. The movers also broke alight fixture in my hallway while moving the couch and didn't offer today for it. While moving my book case, they let it fall down the stairs. The bureau came apart because they diditn use a dolly. read more

I have always been reluctant about letting strangers in my home and touching my belongings, but after I was laid off and needed to find work down south, I was in a pinch. I had seen the reviews and decided that these guys were the real deal. From handling my things with the absolute most care, to being polite and making the atmosphere way less tense, and to working quickly and efficiently I would give these guys all of my money if I could. Express Moving Team is terrible. Worst movers I have ever used. Hard to reach, impossible to get receipts from, poorly trained, awful at packing a truck. The movers in the town I relocated to were so much better, and they laughed when they saw how badly Express Moving Team packed the van. Loads of my furniture was damaged. Absolute disaster. Unfortunately all I can say is if these guys can't oversee money and credit card transactions, they have no business accepting such transactions. I booked my move and paid my deposit. Due to circumstances with my job, I had to delay the move indefinitely. Since It was still well outside the 24 hour cancellation period, I requested my $200 deposit back. They informed me it would be 7-10 business days. After about 3 weeks and no money I was growing concerned, and contacted them. They were responsive and respectful but ultimately, no money. It is coming up on 2 months and they have essentially washed their hands of responsibility which is extremely frustrating. I was told they initiated the payment and to call my bank. Neither I, nor my credit card company has seen any incoming payment but they refuse to extend themselves beyond telling me to call my bank. Since I've called my card company and I have had no further details on the transaction, I'm feeling out of options beyond legal ones. They won't give me any additional information to work with and my money is essentially lost. I am not unreasonable and understand things happen, errors happen, but it is frustrating to have a company give a metaphorical shrug and says oops, your problem now. Moral of the story, don't book them unless you are 1000% sure because you will never see your deposit again. Buyers beware lesson for me I suppose. read more
