Come in with a realistic understanding of the value of your collateral and a right attitude and you'll most likely have a loan offer that meets your needs for quick cash. I like to ask questions - a lot of questions. These guys make sure I leave with answers to all my questions which is much appreciated. Pawn Shops can be intimidating for a first timer. I wish my first pawn experience had been at Express Pawn. I know I'll never walk out of there with any lingering concerns or unanswered questions. read more

I recently took a diamond ring into his shop that I had appraised at two different places before arriving at Express Pawn. I already knew what the worth was and how much I could get for it. This review is specifically being made to call out shady pawnshops. Do not take any real jewelry to this man's shop. I was offered $900-$1200 at a real jeweler. I presented him my ring, as he inspect it with only his eyes, doesn't check the gold band or do any other tests. He says the diamond is fake and will give me $100-$150. I then asked him how he came up with that amount. He then replied, "why, do you want to know" I stated because it was really low. He then said "I have my ways, your ring is fake" this guy is a swindler STAY AWAY. IF YOU DO BUSINESS HERE YOU ONLY MAKE YOURSELF LOOK BAD. read more

This place was selling something at over triple the price you can buy them for new. They had a Squier Jaguar HB Bass made in Indonesia. Finally told me the price was $650 but they sell for $200 new, $150 used. Yikes! I hope someone doesn't get taken advantage of. On top of it the workers are really rude. I didn't say anything about the price. I wasn't greeted on entering being the only person in store. Twice I opened dialog about their guitars and they just stared blankly at me without responding. Awkward moments, ok, I'll just look at guitars on the floor myself then. When I first asked about guitars behind the counter I said "how much are those?" And the main guy commented "very expensive, over $1000" and then acted like he was brushing me off and not going to show them to me or tell me the price on them. After I stood there for a couple moments in silence with the expression, "how much, really?" He went and said $650 on this one and $350 on that one. The main guy was stand offish towards me asking "what are you doing with your phone?" As if I couldn't use my phone in the shop. I told him I was just looking up prices and he made the comment "oh, you don't know about guitars? You don't know how much they are worth?" With a snicker. I told him no, I don't know how much every guitar is worth. I don't think he knows how much they are worth either. I was a manager for a music store for 3 years and I work full time in the music industry. That really doesnt matter but why would they treat customers like they are not even worth showing a product to or telling the price on it? There were two workers and as soon as someone else came in they stopped helping me. That price was crazy and the attitude here was bad really. Maybe you can sell them your guitar and convince them it's worth $650 and get a good price. But I wouldn't recommend buying here. read more

honestly one of the worst pawn shops i've ever been to. guy there was literally a clown. extremely rude. very unprofessional and offered me 10% of the value of the item i was selling (it was brand new - still in package). this place is a joke. he was talking in such a hostile way and was about to start throwing hands. running a scam business. i don't recommend this place unless u like being greeted with some bs and getting ripped off. plus what's up with all these fake reviews. read more

Established in 1987.

Our business started originally in North Hollywood California and we have grown over 5 locations and still growing. EXPRESS Pawn Shop offers secured loans to people, with items of personal property used as collateral. The items having been pawned to the broker are themselves called pledges or pawns, or simply the collateral. If an item is pawned for a loan, within a certain contractual period of time (4 months) the customer may extend the loan or redeem it for the amount of the loan plus interest. the amount of time, and rate of interest, is governed by state of California. If the loan is not paid (or extended) within the time period, the pawned item will be offered for sale by the pawnbroker. unlike other lenders, the pawnbroker does not report the defaulted loan on the customer's credit report, since the pawnbroker has physical possession of the item and may recoup the loan value through outright sale of the item. The pawnbroker also sells items that have been sold outright.

He was friendly, super patient, and explained everything. He understood how difficult it was to look for rose gold chains, especially when thicker too. I was super indecisive and he gave me all the time in the world to look through their gold book which had all kinds of designs and thickness scaled to life size so I could place my pendant on it to imagine how it would look. He also brought out samples of chain types as I picked out ones to see if I'd like the look in person. He ended up finding an estate gold chain that looked absolutely perfect for my husband's pendant in shine and style. We tried it for a few days (they give you 30 days hassle-free) and my husband knew it wasn't the right length of style for his personal preference and our tuggy toddlers within one day. It was gorgeous and I wished it worked out, but maybe not for us. We came back a few days later after Christmas Eve and Brandon helped me out again with the return and gave me suggestions for the length of my husband's necklace based on preference. I saw people coming in and out during the two times I went and I see why. These people are amazing, patient, knowledgeable, super friendly and not pushy at all. i was going thru a financial hardship, my husband had just passed and I couldn't get a loan from any bank, a friend recommended I come here, I had no idea how this process worked and was terrified to take my husbands prized possessions here to obtain a loan but I had no choice.. I walked in and Tony greeted me immediately he noticed I was emotional at the thought of leaving my husband's things and he immediately made me feel comfortable. If this is the last gold store in the world, I advise you not to stop here. The owner of the store, the bald man, is indescribably disgusting. Since we entered the store, he has been trying to defraud me. I was there to find out the price of a gold coin. He said, "How much do you want for it?" I told him, "I don't know. I want to know the price. That's why I'm here." He said five. Dollars sarcastically, and then he paid less than a quarter of the real price when they took it and went out. He tried to pay an excessive price. I told him that I would not sell it in this store because it is more like a cow farm. I do not advise anyone, but stop here if you want. In September my banking information got stolen and all the money was drained from my accounts right before I had to pay tuition. I had to at least pay for some of my classes in order to avoid getting dropped from all of them so I decided to get a loan out for my laptop and picked Express Pawn because of all their good reviews. Express Pawn Shop is a new Pawn shop in Norwalk, Ca. on Rosecrans Ave. It is a family owned business and the father son team that I encountered upon walking in after making an inquiry call were outstanding! ! The guys who worked there where great! Very quick, funny and professional! I came in with my acoustic guitar and they really knew their stuff and where able to tell me details about my bridge, neck etc. Pawned it for what I needed and came back a few weeks later to find my acoustic unharmed. Update: Was in recently and as always, was treated kindly. Was shocked to find out that the older gentleman that used to work there had passed due to cancer. I vividly recall seeing him not that long ago and you couldn't even tell something was wrong but he was that type of man, the kind that just pressed on daily and dealt with it a day at a time without complaint.
