Take me back! I love it here. Buddy helped my mom yesterday and she couldn't stop gushing about how…read morehelpful they were. We came back today and got help from some other sweeties including Buddy and Wayne. Everyone was so knowledgeable and eager to assist. Wayne approached us so warmly. Made us feel so comfortable! They were so charming that I'd let them sell me anything. *opens purse* We'd been shopping around for weeks and decided to outfit our lawn with as much as we could get from TPG, thanks to Wayne. The Plant Gallery is so expansive, beautiful, and organized. There is inspiration abound. They really put so much care into the aesthetic. Most plants were labeled with name, care tags, pricing, their sun/shade situation, etc. I'd visited before and felt a little intimidated. When you approach, it seems like you have to park on the street, but if you pull inside the gate there is subtle parking available. It's sort of like street parking, where you can park along side some of the plants or sculptures. If you're unsure, ask some of the friendly staff and they'll help you.

I'm not officially a plant person. I tend to be a foster parent for plants, or an adopter of…read moreplants that have left behind or propagated by others, but I don't often head out in search of actual plants to buy for myself. Occasionally new pots or potting soil, but very rarely am I out and about for plants. I rent, it's always dark in the shotgun, the yard is just a jungle gym for the dogs, so I don't really plant anything. Just assorted pots on the porch and a few limited light tolerant plants inside. And then I decided to pick up a few for my classroom. I usually just have a little vase or some mini-daffodils in spring, but I'm trying to encourage more plant life in my classroom so that my students can enjoy it, and so that I have time to enjoy it. The problem is that I'm not as good at indoor plants as I am my outdoor ones. So I went to TPG because my mom gave me some ideas, and it popped up as a nearby location to where I was out shopping. 1. This place is way bigger than I expected. I pulled in and there's a shop, greenhouses, landscaping plants, you name it. 2. The staff was so helpful and knowledgeable. I got ideas of what to get (sturdy enough for students), ways to take care of them, and knowledge about which ones were air purifiers, low maintenance, or whatever given my classroom conditions. 3. I spent more money than I had been anticipating, but I was having such a great time, and enjoyed learning about the plants that I decided to just buy a few more. The lady in the greenhouse wrote out my bill, I got to use my Yelp! check-in discount, and I went into the store to check-out. They had so many great goodies there that I really wanted to keep shopping, but I knew I had already spent my budget with the extra plants, so I stayed good. Now I know for next time and I look forward to going back. BTW -- the new plants are thriving and new shoots are already appearing, so apparently they really did lead me in the right direction!

J & L Lawn Service, LLC New Orleans, La 70118…read more504-250-6418 I was fortunate enough to notice this company working in my block. I'am also fortunate in becoming one of their customers. The owners of J & L are two young men, Jerry and Larry Galathe, who just happen to be related, brothers by birth. I talked with Jerry, and while we walked the property, he then gave me an estimate of what it was going to cost and how long he estimated to complete the job, and last but not least, how many people would be on the property, because it was only he and his brother the day I saw them. Jerry Galathe gave me a date and time, and he and Larry Galathe was right on the dot. He took a second to make sure we were on the same page, and for the exception of asking me about a particular tree, they had it all together. I came out occasionally, and looked at the process and progress, and it was all good. My hedges, trees, bushes and flower beds were meticulously trimmed, shaped, cleaned of all the vines and weeds, etc., I could hear my hedges going aaahhhh, I can breathe now.from one end to the other end they were the same height. Those two young business men were serious about their professional skills and what they wanted displayed to other potential clients. The Galathes were in sync with everything they were doing. Their work was far better than great, their professionalism and respect for your property, was unparalleled to any I have seen in decades. Clean up was immaculate. I didn't have to cough up bags, broom, or rake(s) like other experiences I have had. Jerry and Larry have beau coup equipment, tools, supplies and a closed in trailer hitched to their truck. They've been in business over (10) years. Their skills are equal to (20) yr veteran landscapers. I asked the Galathes are they married with children? They told me NO. Whaaaatttttttttttttt choo sayyyyyy. I asked how did you dodge, ooops I mean manage to stay single. They answered, well, we have goals and plans for our business and it appears we are doing very well to reach it. We're very honest with our customers, with the market prices, and our daily operations are constant and dependable. Everything will fall into place,if its God's Will. Oh, Oh; you better get xtra storage space, uhh huh. Tell me this is not Nat'Ually Na'Awlins, yall. This is the first lawn company that I ever felt was worth every penny I spent for the job. Look at the pics of the work in progress. No job is to small or to large . They will do a great job, no matter the size. Let's keep our small businesses working to build and recover as we always do. Dat's N'Awlins Way Ya'll. Try these young me, you'll love em' Ahm outta Heah, Ya'll Peace "MO"
