We came back today and got help from some other sweeties including Buddy and Wayne. Everyone was so knowledgeable and eager to assist. Wayne approached us so warmly. Made us feel so comfortable! They were so charming that I'd let them sell me anything. *opens purse* We'd been shopping around for weeks and decided to outfit our lawn with as much as we could get from TPG, thanks to Wayne. The Plant Gallery is so expansive, beautiful, and organized. There is inspiration abound. They really put so much care into the aesthetic. Most plants were labeled with name, care tags, pricing, their sun/shade situation, etc. I'd visited before and felt a little intimidated. When you approach, it seems like you have to park on the street, but if you pull inside the gate there is subtle parking available. It's sort of like street parking, where you can park along side some of the plants or sculptures. If you're unsure, ask some of the friendly staff and they'll help you. read more

I'm not officially a plant person. I tend to be a foster parent for plants, or an adopter of plants that have left behind or propagated by others, but I don't often head out in search of actual plants to buy for myself. Occasionally new pots or potting soil, but very rarely am I out and about for plants. I rent, it's always dark in the shotgun, the yard is just a jungle gym for the dogs, so I don't really plant anything. Just assorted pots on the porch and a few limited light tolerant plants inside. And then I decided to pick up a few for my classroom. I usually just have a little vase or some mini-daffodils in spring, but I'm trying to encourage more plant life in my classroom so that my students can enjoy it, and so that I have time to enjoy it. The problem is that I'm not as good at indoor plants as I am my outdoor ones. So I went to TPG because my mom gave me some ideas, and it popped up as a nearby location to where I was out shopping. 1. This place is way bigger than I expected. I pulled in and there's a shop, greenhouses, landscaping plants, you name it. 2. The staff was so helpful and knowledgeable. I got ideas of what to get (sturdy enough for students), ways to take care of them, and knowledge about which ones were air purifiers, low maintenance, or whatever given my classroom conditions. 3. I spent more money than I had been anticipating, but I was having such a great time, and enjoyed learning about the plants that I decided to just buy a few more. The lady in the greenhouse wrote out my bill, I got to use my Yelp! check-in discount, and I went into the store to check-out. They had so many great goodies there that I really wanted to keep shopping, but I knew I had already spent my budget with the extra plants, so I stayed good. Now I know for next time and I look forward to going back. BTW -- the new plants are thriving and new shoots are already appearing, so apparently they really did lead me in the right direction! read more

The space self is heavenly, as it blends beautiful foliage, with unique gift ideas, all combined in an aesthetically pleasing environment. I had to stop myself from wanting to buy everything, but managed to splurge on some really gorgeous things while staying under my $100 budget. Not only does the store have a beautiful selection of standard indoor and outdoor plants, but their selection of air plants, and decorative driftwood was very impressive also. They even have several pieces of petrified wood, which I love! The Plant Gallery has everything you need to cultivate your green thumb, but they also offer free design tips if you bring them a photograph of your space at home, and also floral arrangement services for events and venues. I've had great help in the outdoor center loading up on my herbs and flowers earlier in the year. Wow. Not only was i showered with great customer service but the variety of offerings had me flowered with happiness. I had no clue just how many services TPG offered not only on-site but throughout the city. They do large scale events, landscaping, property and garden maintenance, and florals! TPG is very well organized and it's quite easy to search for your needs on your own; however, there are plenty of folks to help you out. The shop has a bunch of mid-to-high range price items and a build your own floral bouquet section. I saw a dedicated Magnolia section and a bunch of beautiful interior decor pieces. Ended up walking out with a home plant and a plastic pot to hold it in. The associate within the indoor plant section was so helpful and informative. First time visiting The Plant Gallery! Oh my the selections. I had no clue what I was looking for, but our home was in need of greenery. I wanted plants requiring low light and minimal care. We decided on a snake plant, cactus, and mother in laws tongue (weird name right?). The staff was very helpful with explaining how to care for the plants, watering schedule and light requirements. I also purchased a pot as most of the plants need to be replanted. I had no clue that plants were pricey! We spent over $300 for 3 plants! I'm over the moon about our selections and definitely want to shop for more in a few months. Make sure to purchase plant saucers at $2 each before you leave. We recently had TPG completely upgrade our backyard garden. We couldn't have been more pleased. In the past, we've spoken with landscape companies from our immediate neighborhood about upgrading the garden in our front yard. Each of them either didn't listen to what we had in mind or chose to ignore it. Their proposals were nothing like what we had in mind. Since the garden was small enough, we simply did it ourselves. That wasn't an option for the backyard, since the garden was far too large. So, we turned to TPG. Alex came out and truly listened to us. We were delighted when we received his proposal. It was everything we had in mind and more. The work was done very efficiently, just two full workdays over a three-day period. The crew that did the work were very professional and left the work site as clean as possible at the end of each workday. As they removed the plants from the existing garden, they were careful to find the three or four turtles that we'd missed when we prepared the garden for the work. The plants TPG provided were in excellent condition, with flowers in bloom on most of them. So, the garden looks impressive here at the outset. It will only get better as the plants grow and fill out the space. Already, the garden is even more impressive than what we anticipated looking at Alex's proposal diagram. Based on TPG's reputation, we had fairly high expectations. But the whole project and the end result far exceeded those expectations. A representative from TPG met with my assistant in December 2023 to discuss commercial landscape and garden redesign. The representative failed to submit his proposal as promised, or return any calls or emails that were made to him. Furthermore, my assistant contacted the landscape management division to inquire about said proposals and was told that she would get a return call the same day which never happened. By the end of February 2024 she quit making attempts. Their lack of professionalism is alarming. read more

My first introduction to TPG was admittedly not from wedding arrangements. When in New Orleans over the holiday season, the decorations in the Roosevelt are breathtaking and different each year. I learned that the florist was TPG so in the years to follow, I began to inquire about eye catching arrangements and orchids in restaurants and hotels around the city and more often than not they were the work of TPG. So when it came time to plan my special day, my first choice was TPG and I could not have been more pleased with our arrangements. Eva was absolutely amazing to work with. She promptly responded to any and every email or call and helped me create the ideal arrangement given my preferences. And the fact that I visited about 4 months prior to my wedding which is a short window by the assessment of some was a-ok in her book. With Eva's help, I chose all wedding flowers and arrangements for the ceremony in about 75 minutes. A day or so later, I received the proposal via email and realized I needed to add a few more corsages and boutonnières for hosts and family. Eva replied with the updates on the same day. And I even added arrangements for the reception by phone less than 45 days out with first class assistance even when leading in with " I think I want ...." When my ideas reached the brink of excessive, she told me what she thought would look best even when it meant less revenue for TPG. Having someone with familiarity with the reception hall's layout and offerings was invaluable. An online portal was used for my proposal and payments, allowing me to make payments online--- perfect when residing hundreds of miles away from the wedding location. And based on the prices and experiences friends had for their flowers in Nola, TPG is competitively priced, reliable, consistent and the best value for the money. read more

We had a very disappointing wedding experience with TPG. Two of the floral installations promised at our Daughter's November 2024 wedding were not completed as discussed. One being the trellis over the ceremony the other the fountain for our reception. While the other arrangements they did complete were lovely and Susan did refund our money for the two inadequate florals, it was heartbreaking to have a vision you had been dreaming about for a year become so disappointing. read more

They were communicative, courteous, prompt, creative, affordable, professional, and kind. I will be honest, I did not have a clear vision of what I wanted outside of tropical plants and bright colors. I felt uneasy and I wasn't sure what I would get because the price was so affordable and I had a hard time communicating what I wanted. I bought a Living Social deal here last fall and realized that it was about to expire at the end of this month. So off to the Plant Gallery I went. I should mention that I had a plant moratorium imposed on me awhile back. I am a bipolar gardener. I get all inspired and do lots and then forget to water for weeks on end. This makes for many dead plants. Which depresses my significant other when he has to throw them all away. Anyway, I tried to focus on smaller plants (less painful to look at once they're dead) and herbs. I ended up with some lovely geraniums for the front porch and whole bunch of herbs for the kitchen garden (OK really it's a bunch of pots, but much of my yard is concrete thanks to previous owners). I found my new florist in New Orleans! Last minute, I needed to send a very large flower arrangement for my grandmother's 90th birthday, since her party was canceled due to COVID. I called this place and Lesmes was able to put together an amazing arrangement and have it delivered all the same day! I was searching for some wind chimes for my mother's Christmas present today, and found that TPG had some in stock. I was thrilled at the opportunity to buy something local instead of purchasing it online. They did in fact have several baritone options on display, but unfortunately none in the original packaging. Because this was intended to be a gift, I did not feel "weathered" chimes at a $600 price point was appropriate. The ladies were helpful, but unfortunately there were no unopened bass chimes in stock. I was happy to order them through TPG; however, I was told that they were not accepting any orders until after the holidays. I found them online and paid a little more for shipping, but I'll be receiving them two days from now. Sad to see they lost a sale because they weren't willing to take an order! read more

Awesome, amazing, classy, functional and educational - so so many words can be used to describe this super neat plant store. They stock all varieties of plants and herbs plus educate you on their maintenance so they can stay healthy. The home goods section is a knockout. We bought a few Halloween items but honestly, I wanted them all. I was salivating at the tiny vampire castle placed inside a huge candle holder (great idea!), the giant fuzzy spiders dangling from the ceiling and at all the sparkly Halloween ornaments hanging off a black tree. DARLING and spooky!! The floral section is just so pretty and everything was really fresh. There are a variety of vases to choose from and there are plenty of associates who can help you select special flowers for that exquisite bouquet. Kenny, the owner, is readily available and so personable so please ask questions if you have any. We got our five year old and newborn all ready, drove out here, and found out that we could not buy one! They were all for preorder. Shane and The Plant Gallery did the flowers for my wedding ceremony and reception at Broussard's this past weekend. It was during Mardi Gras and we had a peacock theme. The wedding was held at Broussard's restaurant in their courtyard which is already a beautiful space in and of itself. But what Shane did to the courtyard was simply like a fairytale. The conditions and constraints he had to work in due to the Mardi Gras festival and all the road closures and whatnots did not make this an easy event for him. He rolled with it all flawlessly. In our initial consult many months ago back in April, we outlined a vision. We asked for blues and greens, whimsy and romance but in a way that did not detract from an already beautiful outdoor setting. What he gave us was blues and greens, feathers and bling tastefully placed everywhere with lots and lots of candles and romantic touches. He nailed our vision and delivered in spades. I will say that we had a lot of unique touches and requests to include with our wedding and shipped several boxes of things down for Shane to place and include in our overall design. He nailed them perfectly and when I walked in and saw everything from our time capsule to our crazy hand made arts and crafts guest book table all so perfectly displayed I breathed a sigh of relief. It's a little nerve wracking to have a destination wedding (we are from the West Coast) and wonder will the end product really reflect my vision... It did! And then I will say about the lighting... About two weeks before my photographer realized there wouldn't be enough lighting to provide for good photos. I contacted Shane in a panic and he handled the last minute freak out with skill and calmness. I know this may make me seem either neurotic or a bridezilla, which I'm neither... But I digress... He contracted for lights, coordinated with my photographer and brought it in on budget. Thank heavens for contingency budgets. Job well done Plant Gallery and thank you! read more

The Plant Gallery aka TPG on Airline Hwy sucks!!! Very bad customer service!! So think twice before shopping there. We are avid and successful gardeners and recently bought $152 worth of plants there. One of them died and when I tried to get it replaced today they would not do it. So they wouldn't replace a $20 plant to keep a customer that routinely spends a lot at garden stores. We always shop at Urban Roots or Harold's and went there bc they had a plant we wanted that wasn't available any where else at the time. And we won't go to TPG again!! Really stupid move on their part bc there's nothing like bad word of mouth advertising!! Next stop, Yelp Reviews!! Other than political rants, I rarely rant, but this is rant worthy and hopefully can spare someone some grief by not shopping there! read more

Next to Perrinos, absolute best for plants and flowers. Customers shop with these carts and receive tickets for checkout. The folliage and flowers here are healthier and larger than at home depot or lowes. The horticulturist actually takes their time watering each plant. The price may be a little higher but you get more bang for your buck. Green thumbs UP! read more

The plant gallery is by far my favorite nursery/florist in town. After shopping several nurseries in town for Sky Pencils, we found that the selection & quality at TPG was significantly better than other nurseries in New Orleans & Metairie. I would say that TPG is "high-end" compared to some other places, however the price difference is pretty marginal compared to even Lowes or Home Depot. In addition to a huge selection of plants, TPG sells beautiful florals, outdoor furniture and lighting, home decor, and fabulous candles. You can see TPG's work around town at places such as the Ritz, where TPG handles all of their landscaping and decorates their holiday trees. Due to our busy holiday schedule this year, we needed to purchase our tree very early. TPG already has 300 gorgeous Christmas trees in their inventory. They provide delivery, lighting, decorating, and flocking services for their trees as well. I also like that TPG has a loyalty program where you can accumulate points based on dollars spent.
