When visiting a unit in winter we found a heater condensate pipe running through the wall had frozen, burst and sent corrosive water on our things. The office was unstaffed and the 800 was unable to contact anyone for help. My 82 yr old husband and I had to move heavy items to safety, a three hour effort! Public Storage ignored our calls for help and a simple repair that was made would not prevent the same situation again, indeed it has refrozen within a day. I dreaded looking for a new company until I found STORAGE SENSE. WOW! What a change for the better! A great new facility on Sunset Drive in Waukesha, WI, is a solid, clean, secure structure with an on-site manager that really understands customer service. Erik made finding new space to move our things easy and at a better cost than Public Storage. It is a comfort to know that having someone on-site is important to STORAGE SENSE. So, here it goes. I guess for the most part, the best things about this particular storage facility are: #1. The service and the people who work there. #2. Location, location, location! #3. Safety. #4. First month is free if you mention the special. Unlike other storage facilities that I've used (Public Storage and Uhaul), this is probably the best one. At least for me. The other places have their own pro's which I'll get to but also have some major cons. The people who work at East Bank Storage are friendly and knowledgeable. This is pretty much the ONLY storage facility close to a good neighborhood and not in some remote place in the middle of some remote ghetto. You'll see the least amount of sketchy people at this facility. The employees don't seem like crack heads nor do the people who put their entrusted belongings there. In fact, I think the employees listen to Christian rock music. The cons of East Bank; Unlike Public Storage or Uhaul where you can access your belongings 24/7, you can only access your belongings at this place monday through friday, during work hours. So, they close at 5p. And on saturday they close at 3p. And they are not open on sunday. The other major setback is that this facility is designed like a building and the units are on different floors, so there is a huge lift. The other places have drive up garages and individual units at ground level. But also exposed to the outdoors and the elements. So anyway, once-and-a-while, you get there and someone else is using the lift and you just have to wait. Luckily I've never waited that long but it could be a major clusterfuck during peak moving times. The nice thing though is that because of these hours, the facility is always being monitored. And when it closes, the whole place is on lock down. I have a friend who even rents a wine storage cellar there. So, it's basically more upscale with a few drawbacks. If you have nice or expensive shit, take it here instead of a mainstream facility. Otherwise, the others are a-ok, I guess.

Also- the packing methods were suspect and a lot of little damage for even a local move. I am not a happy customer at all.

I've heard nightmarish stories in the past about other facilities that included the fecal matter of 4 legged critters and attacks by hoards of wasps, so I am VERY happy I chose All Safe to store my prized possessions!

Not only were they willing to take delivery of the car, they were willing to let me send a car cover to the office and they put it on the car for me. As if that wasn't nice enough, when I came to pick up the car, the battery was dead (not unexpected). While they weren't obligated to help me in any way, the manager not only helped me jump start it with his truck, but also called a relative to come help in case we couldn't get it started. I was in Waukesha and it happened to be snowing - not what I needed. Jeff and Bill were great! Jeff worked with me to get the right sized unit and even made accommodations should I need something bigger. When I came back later to load the unit, Bill had cleared the snow from in front of the locker! The unit was clean and dry and I am sure my stuff will be well protected. Storage facilities are everywhere but I really endorse the personal service provide at Scenic.
