Compassion Movers came to our rescue, they had to come back with an engine lift after a couple of days but they got it lifted and mounted on the stand that it came with. They were reasonably and fairly priced and I was more than happy to support a locally owned moving business.

By the end of the day I was told it would have to be Sunday instead. This created some significant problems but I was willing to work with them. On Sunday, I was told it was going to have to be moved to Tuesday. It just so happened that I was going to be out of town on Tuesday and couldn't receive the second part of the move. I was told that would be rescheduled at my convenience. The bulk of the move did actually happen on Tuesday. When the day came for the second part of the move to happen, which was only a bed and a grandfather clock, I got put off again, from Saturday to Sunday. And on Sunday, right at the end of the agreed-upon window, I got a call asking for more money to complete the job. I was informed that because of my inability to receive the second part of the move on Tuesday, I was going to have to pay more. No matter that I was available to receive it Saturday, Sunday, and even Monday if that had been an option. The delay was not due to any action on my part and was actually very stressful for me. Yet I was at fault for not being available on Tuesday at the second location. My big mistake was not reading enough reviews before hiring this company. Although they have some good reviews, and I have no doubt they can do a good job, several other people have reported having issues similar to what I experienced. Had I seen those accounts I probably would have looked for someone else to do the move. I do not recommend this company for your moving needs.

From the moment I reached out, especially her she was responsive, patient, and genuinely focused on helping me resolve my issue. The representative took the time to listen carefully, asked thoughtful questions, and made sure they fully understood my concern before offering a solution. What stood out most was their professionalism and friendly attitude made me feel valued as a customer rather than just another case to close. The issue was resolved efficiently, and they even followed up to ensure everything was working as expected. Overall, the level of care and attention I received exceeded my expectations. Great customer service like this makes a lasting impression, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others.

"Client satisfaction is our primary focus" and "Professional packing services"…read more- straight from their website. Here is our story: Our family had a very disappointing experience with "Community Moving" while relocating my elderly parents closer to us in Lexington, Virginia. What was supposed to be a carefully planned move for two elderly parents instead became a stressful and chaotic experience that left us dealing with damaged belongings and days of additional work to sort through improperly packed boxes. We chose this company not only because it is owned by veterans, but because of the company's mission and values. These meant a great deal to my family. This was not a typical move. My dad is retired military and this is their 17th and final move. My parents are now both in their 80s, and the relocation was meant to bring them into a safer home where we could help care for them. Because of that, we spent a great deal of time speaking with the company beforehand about the size of the move and the need for careful handling of antiques, heirlooms, and fragile items. We also provided photos and videos of the home so the estimate could be as accurate as possible. Despite those preparations, the move itself was far more chaotic than we expected. The truck plan changed shortly before the move, and later, additional trucks and packing materials had to be acquired by the company. Packing did not match what we had discussed ahead of time. Some fragile items and antiques were packed in ways that caused damage, and several pieces of furniture and household items arrived broken, stress fractured and in poor condition. The labeling of boxes was also inconsistent, which made unpacking extremely difficult. Many boxes contained mixed items from different rooms or had little description of the room or contents, which meant nearly every box had to be opened and sorted before anything could be put away. Because of the condition of the packing and delivery, we had to spend several additional days reorganizing the house with the help of friends and family. This was particularly challenging given my parents' age and health, and it added significant stress during what was already an emotional transition. We did communicate our concerns to management and provided documentation, photos and videos of the issues we discovered during unpacking. While conversations took place, the outcome did not fully resolve the situation for our family. This review reflects our family's direct experience with this move and the condition of items as they were unpacked. Moving elderly parents and transporting a lifetime of belongings requires careful planning, clear communication, and attention to detail. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend that anyone planning a large or complex move ask very detailed questions about packing methods, labeling procedures, and truck capacity before choosing a moving company. We did, but "Community Moving" fell short of our expectation. At present time, we are waiting on some resolutions with the company. We will be happy to update the review once this has been accomplished.

However, after seeing they had an A+ rating through the BBB while being a sole proprietorship since 1995, my skepticism became engrossed. Not to mention, this was the only moving company that would physically come out and assess my home and belongings. I really appreciated the time and commitment it took for Teresa to come out and take a look at what all needed to be done, rather than just ask me a million mediocre questions over the phone without any discernment for what is unseen. We have several valuable possessions and family heirlooms that are undoubtedly priceless in memories alone; therefore, we were taken aback with relief and solace when we were reassured our effects would be handled with great care! We discussed everything from packing materials and their pricing (we really appreciated their not-to-exceed price considering a lot of these other big-name companies have charged us with unmentioned fees in the past) to the furniture covers they use to protect our furniture that would be used during the entirety of our move to even what equipment they would need to be able to safely move some of our heavier, more substantial items. Our experience with this company just in the planning of our move far exceeded any other company we have tried moving with before. On our scheduled moving day, Teresa called to inform me when her movers were on their way and to assure me everything was on schedule and all according to plan, which was another sigh of relief in our very hectic, stressful time of moving. The movers arrived and were very courteous and hospitable. They never let us lift a finger or break a sweat! They worked in sync with one another nonstop in the middle of the August-Texas heat while maintaining professionalism and delightful attitudes! They successfully transferred our belongings from our old home to the next without any mishaps or setbacks. They made the unpacking process smooth and painless by unloading our things in an organized manner as well as reassembling our furniture! This whole process was such a breeze compared to our moves in the past! My husband and I were very impressed by the way this company was able to alleviate all our worries and stress during the entirety of our arduous journey of moving. The professionalism and dexterity this company had shown us made me write this review because the experience my family and I had was well beyond our expectations, and we felt it was very much needed to ameliorate any of those previous reviews that too had made us skeptical at first! We're grateful to have trusted Teresa and her company with this project! We will be highly recommending this company to all our family and friends who are looking for a hands-on, family-oriented, honest company!

They used furniture dollies to move the refrigerator which was too heavy for it. And unbalanced. Instead of using an appliance dolly. I blame the hot head manager for that. He was rude and yelled at me. I asked him to leave my home. Broke a light globe in the kitchen, had to order on one line for new owners. Would I use them again No. Would I recommend .
