We both were calling and despite talking to 4-5 people no one could help us and no one called us back as requested. My husband was able to use the kiosk to get a key and pay despite it restarting several times only to find out the gate code it provided didn't work. Finally after 11 someone showed up and let my husband in and he was able to unload the trucks into our unit. The following Monday we followed up to voice our frustration and let them know we weren't sure we were going to stay a few months as we intended. Long story short rather than an apology we were kicked out and told our stuff needed to be out the next day. We had to load up our things and find another storage location. Global Self Storage has terrible customer service and at the end of the day they might just kick you out if they don't like what you have to say. Not worth it!

I called you on October 9, 2023, at 10:53 AM and left a message to tell you that I was pulling my boat out on November 6, 2023, to put it in winter storage. You called me back at 12:03 PM the same day and told me that I would have to pay for the entire month of November. I had no problem with that. You said that you normally get a 30-day written notice of departing your facility but since we were talking, you would accept the verbal notice (this should have been in your notes). My wife accidentally paid you twice and you admit it.  On November 6th I pulled my boat off your property and moved it to winter storage.  When I got home my wife told me about the double payment. I called you at 1:27 PM on November 6th to inform you about the double payment. You told me you posted the double payment for November and December, and I was covered for December storage fee even though I was not storing anything on your property, and you were not giving me my money back. I posted my review on YELP on November 6th to warn others of your corrupt business practice. You called me at 2:09 PM after reading the review on YELP on the 6th and left me a voice mail which included the following: "Hey Bruce, Todd Payne here, I went back and looked at all my records, NOTES, and everything and I don't see anything that you've notified me that you were leaving for 30 days but what I can do is take that EXTRA PAYMENT THAT YOUR WIFE MADE that I posted for December and KEEP IT and hold your spot for you. You'll start back up in the summer and make payments. Just give me a call back".  These are your words, Todd. You are admitting to keeping the extra payment and not returning my money even though you were notified in October. Why don't you have any records and I do. I am warning everyone to stay away, or you will have to shut your MONTH!

When I actually completed the rental setup, it was $120. Now after 3 months they upped my rent to $180. It's crazy to me that this is somehow legal. I'm finding a new rental location as I type this to get out of there before my next bill hits. Doing my research online now I've read a ton of similar reviews across the country for Public Storage doing this to everyone. However, the great pricing was an outright lie. Don't fall for it! I was offered a low introductory price of 30% off "for the first 3 months," but after signing the paperwork I found out that it was really only for 2 months plus whatever was left of the month you started in (which in my case was only 9 days left of the month). That was deceptive. They did inform me that the price "might" increase after 4-7 months, and it sure did! On my 8th month, they jacked the rate up by a full 40%, and on my 11th month, they jacked it up another 30%. Worse, the leasing agent told me that "if" I got a notification of a rent increase, I could call and they would likely waive it temporarily if asked. Nope. I did call to raise concern about the price that was now more than double my contract rate, and after a week and a half of runaround, I was told, "Sorry, we can't do that." So, that's THREE rent increases in only 12 months, with me ultimately paying 2.6 times the deal I was offered initially, and over the life of my lease, I ended up paying 82% higher than the advertised rates.
