The irony they wanted me to leave a review upon renting a space here. I have my stuff at Xtra Space Watt/Fruitridge Location and I decided to rent a space on Stockton Blvd because it's much closer to my house. Boy, it was not good. 1)I rented a 10x20. I measured it and definitely not exactly 10x20, it's a foot shorter and couple of inches short wide. NOT THAT BIG OF DEAL but.. 2)There are holes in the wall. I am surprised that they even rented this space out (see pictures). They knew it wasn't in good condition but rented to me anyway and it's just not my space that's in bad condition, it's multiple units... The other unit can look into my unit and even stick a hand inside. For a storage space with lots of rules, close earlier than others (8am-8pm) and charging $156 for 10x20 ish, this is disappointing. I am strongly considering cancelling and going somewhere else, we'll see. The only thing that's nice is that this is 5 minutes from my house and I can grab/drop what I need quickly. Staff is nice/ok, but in today's economy, shelling out 220 on the first payment for a place like this is dismal. Boo. read more

Horrible experience. There is an African American lady answering the phones, I never got her name, she is extremely rude and not understanding. I needed this storage unit to hold my mother's things to sell from her estate because she passed away. I was looking for something that was low cost. On their website they list completely different pricing and I was completely mislead about the pricing over the phone. They made no effort to fix anything for me and didn't have any care about my situation. Somehow I've paid over $300 already. Only interested in taking your money once you sign and hiking up the price. Showing no human decency at all. DO NOT COME HERE AND WASTE YOUR MONEY read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!! I have had a unit here for only 3 months, and they have already raised the rent 100% I specifically asked the rental agent about rent hikes, he assured me that wouldn't happen, and that Extra Space storage wouldn't raise rates. 3 months later my rent has been raised 100% and the district manager explained to me that I had basically been swindled into signing a lease that allowed rent hikes. District manager made it out to be my problem that her employee lied to me about rental rates. Worse than that there's holes in the unit covered by plywood where people have broken into the unit previously. Rats, and homeless camped everywhere. Not a safe place for your belongings. Take your business elsewhere, and avoid the ignorance that is their customer service. read more

After a bad experience at a different storage due to bug infestation, rude staff and theft I was looking to change storages. A friend recommended this place and Im glad she did. I have been storing my belongings here for 5 months now and what a difference compared to the other place. Staff was very friendly and helpful from the jump. They greet me by name with a friendly hello. And Before COVID 19 they were happy to let me use the restroom or get water and even gave me some plastic coverings for some furniture. Its nice to feel confident that my things are kept in a clean secure place. The property is well kept I always see the guys spraying, making lil repairs here n there and cleaning. I have yet to see any bugs or rodents thankfully. I was nervous about the location but I haven't seen or had any issues. My storage was spacious, secure, clean and opens and closes with ease. I love that i can drive right up to it. Even my storage neighbors are nice and Friendly even one guy who seen I was struggling while moving something offered to help. There seems to be a sense of commodore which is nice when u have important stuff you are storing. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a storage nearby. read more

Extra Space was excellent! The Perry Street location in Sacramento was great. Eric helped me and was so professional and helpful throughout my almost 2 months of moving delays which is why I had to use storage to begin with. I was very nervous at first due to my lack of experience with storage units, but Eric was the best from the very beginning and made my experience feel so seamless. Clean and PPE was excellent. Appreciate everyone at this facility. Always gracious and pleasant on the phone and in person . Feel corporate policy is sloppy at times considering the Pandemic's affect and its impact on the economy. Company could be more sensitive and flexible considering the extremes of the present situation. And the idea that materials and landfill are infinite!? Cylinder locks do not need to be removed if a pad-lock is placed on unit because of billing concerns. Noticed this on visits to facility. Come on .... So company can make a few extra dollars when repurchased! Change this procedure! And do the responsible thing regarding vulgar waste of materials! Really!?! read more

DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY!! My partner has been renting a unit from this facility since 2014, and in December 2021, we had gone to the storage and found that it had been broken into. Someone had cut through the walls from the storage unit behind and stole a bunch of things from the storage unit. They also went through the walls to the units next to my partner's unit! We contacted management of the facility, as well as made an online police report like we were told to do. Since then, the facility has not contacted me about the break in, but they did contact me to let me know that I am late paying my monthly bill and they will be restricting access to the unit for non payment. The facility has not made any attempts to repair the unit, nor have they done any type of investigation as to who broke into the units! Now they say, that in 8 days, (starting the beginning of February) they will be switching their insurance provider for the facility! Which means he will not be able to get any insurance money back on the items that were stolen from the unit!! This facility has been nothing but helpful only to the person or persons who broke into the units! Since the initial break in, the hole that was cut to access the unit, has gotten significantly bigger!! Which suggests that they have gone back into the units more than once!! With the way the facility is doing nothing to protect their customers, and giving thieves more time to access customer's belongings, it seems to me, that the employees of the facility are accessories to the thieves! I will be going to the news, call curtis, and the better business bureau about this facility. In the photos I am attaching, you will see the hole in the back of the storage as well as the hole cut into the side of the unit. I stored my 1 bedroom apartment here for almost 2 months. My unit had boards nailed on the wall to cover up holes. Upon moving out of the unit I found my couch covered in rat feces as well as cockroaches in my boxes upon settling into my new house. Other renters at the facility open up their door and hang out in the property all day long as if it is their home. DON'T STORE YOUR BELONGINGS HERE!!! read more

Most of these stars are for service. The office staff have been great every time I've talked to them. Really disappointing that the website offers 24/7 access, but they actually only offer 8 am to 8 pm to most clients. The facility is moderately run-down, but I haven't had any problems with my unit. The neighborhood is somewhat murdery, and there's often people who look not unlike meth enthusiasts slipping in when you open the gate. Seems like they keep it as clean and secure as can be expected with only one person there during office hours only. read more

Great experience! I reserved a space online and Ken called me right away to confirm my reservation. He even stayed after to ensure I could complete the paperwork and have the storage space that same day. The facility is clean and secure. Also, my storage door was hard to open and the staff immediately noticed and solved the problem with some WD40. They are very responsive with great prices too! I've been with Extra Space Storage since 2010. I've changed unit sizes a few times from small to large and back to smaller again. The staff never gives me a hard time and are always very helpful and quick to meet my needs. Kristina was great in getting me set up with my new unit. The worst experience in my life, I rent a parking spot on july 2017 to park my pressure wash trailer thinking it will be safety that parking ousite and someone came true to the storage and the trailer was stolen. The manager Casiri said that is not their fault. Days before I let them know (twice) that someone was stealing gas from the trailer tank and they did not paid attention to what I said and a couple days after what a surprise my pressure wash tariler wasn't in there. Casiri the manager said wasn't their fault again, How is that possible? People who works there has responsability about anything inside the storage, that's why they are working in there to keep the storage safe for the costumer the people like me who use their services and pay month to month without problem. Then is not reason people work there just get payment check doing nothing, there are cameras everywhere but they do not care about costumers properties. Never never i will use extra space in my life.
