I spoke to Anthony who was fantastic. He was very accommodating, reasonably priced, on time (even a few mins early!), flexible and very easy to work with. Their can be a line out of the building and they continue to push through. Despite their size they do have some great shipping item choices (lot of boxes and etc). They have a self serve kiosk area. They also have a section where you can be checked out separately (for stamps or trying to get to your post office box etc). They also have a lot of stamp options which I really appreciate. I always like to pick up different books of stamps and they never seem to run out of the good ones (especially around the holidays which is great!).

The loaders did not secure, or pad a single piece of our furniture which all got damaged in transit. I didn't see it all till it was unloaded. The owner, Chris, implied that I should have told him sooner as if it were my responsibility to babysit his "professionals". These guys had no idea what they were doing and only cared about doing things quickly. I sent a slew of photos to the owner. He said he cut the guys that did our move but I want replacement furniture and my $1100.00 back. It appears he is ghosting me and has no concern for accountability or simply doing the right thing. i hope this review helps someone from making the mistake of hiring them. They are not "stress free moves".

I used two of his guys when I moved in December of 2024 and they were great, which is why I chose to use him again. Unfortunately, this time things did not go well. The 3 guys he brought were young punks. They did not listen to anything I asked them to do. They always did the opposite. They were careless and were running furniture into walls. They bent the door jam on my old bedroom door. I caught it and made them bend it back. I got after them numerous times in the new apartment because they were trying to drag furniture and the dolly across the new plank flooring. They damaged items. They ripped the lid on one of my reptile aquariums. There are items that are still missing. The highlight of the day was when the one kid packed the keys to my new apartment, my car keys, and daily medications that were sitting on the kitchen counter into a box and threw the box on the uHaul. We had to call the lockout service to get into the new apartment. Then we had to search through boxes. It had gotten late, so they basically staged most of my belongings in the garage. They said they would come back the next day to finish. He sent two of the kids back the next day, but it was more of them not listening and putting everything opposite of where I wanted it. They were also being careless again. The one was trying to unpack when I wasn't paying for an unpacking service. So, I cut them loose and said I didn't need them anymore. I still have furniture in the garage that has not been put into place. Then at the end of the day when I paid him through Zelle, we forgot to take off my $200 deposit, so Chris was overpaid $200. I ended up paying him $2,401. He tried treating day 2 as a brand-new project with different rates and minimum hours. I said no because it was what should have been done the day before. Afterwards I was in contact with him regarding the $200 overpayment and the damaged/missing items. He said he would make things right, but then he ghosted me. I tried disputing the Zelle transaction, but you can't dispute Zelle transactions. All in all, it was a bad experience. I would never use them again or recommend them to anyone. I was disappointed with Chris' dishonesty. I didn't think he was like that.

So not enough help. Most of his guys were at another big move? DeLaughters way overcharged and didn't care about how they packed most boxes. The owner John complained a lot, after most of truck packed made drama then his wife/biz partner took me into the house crying. She said to give them $2000 more than the $5700 already paying for moving 1800 square feet 5 hours and 15 min. away or they would unpack the truck and leave. Unethical people I say. Their workers said upon delivery the medium moving truck was only 2/3 full and should not have cost so much. Now in getting settled I find they didn't pack well at all. For example glasses, lamps were broken, my corner Cabinet chipped because it wasn't protected or wrapped on top. Also the tv remotes, ports were not put in the big box w the TV and most boxes not marked well. I had great pre-printed packing stickers, but they weren't used. I cleared out and packed my basement storage areas, called a junk remover (they were supposed to do that as part of contract). So I would NOT RECOMMEND this company to move anything. You will likely get your price changed and ripped off. Not to mention your possessions not packed carefully or boxes marked accurately.

I am up and down about my experience with Focus Movers…read more First, for some reason they had me down twice for moving. Once on Monday and the second was on Wednesday (the day that i wanted) of the same week. Weird and doesn't make sense. Second, my appointment was set and confirmed with the office guy (the day before) for at 9am but on the day of the move, i get a call from the driver that he wouldn't get there till 9:45am and he didn't show up till 10:15am. The guys that moved me were very friendly, nice and courteous. Lastly, i was unaware that they didn't accept a check as a form of payment (which they should tell everyone during the confirmation call, what forms of payment they accept) so i had to use a credit card and they charged a 10% convenience fee! Crazy amount of money!!! Normally convenience fees are to cover the cost of processing the card, not to make money off of it! All and all, i feel like the communication needs to be better with them which were the root of all my issues. The actually moving part, they did an excellent job just poor communication.
