Carlos ran the crew and was so professional and courteous. All floors/stairs were covered. Marvin, Omar and Jeff were all hard-working and got everything done quickly like clockwork. All furniture was covered and protected. If we asked for anything to be placed in a different place or requested changes there was only one answer: No problem - with a smile! From my initial telephone contact with Karey and our video walk through with Jon I was very impressed. Likewise, I was very pleased with the initial cost estimate that was provided to us. We did our due diligence and obtained two other estimates, both higher than the one from Prince. In fact, one was twice as high. We were a bit concerned about the great disparity. However, having been impressed with Karey and Jon and reading about the fundamental principles of their business we elected to go with Prince. I cannot say enough about the crew that handled our move. They called ahead of time to advise they were on the way - and on time ! Carlo, the team leader, was polite, responsive to our requests, flexible to add on a few things we needed to move, and his supervision of the other three members of the crew : Omar, Jeff and Mario. The care that the entire crew gave to our furniture, including some large, heavy wood pieces with glass shelves and doors, was extraordinary. The move was handled efficiently, effectively and expeditiously. Nothing was damaged ! The crew was great in moving things around to get them in the correct location. We were very pleased ! I am 2 years late in giving this wonderful company a review. They are the absolute BEST movers…read moreever. My late husband and I moved a lot (almost 20X ) and had every mover out there. This was the FIRST experience with a local mover and the first time not one piece of my furniture was damaged. The movers were so so careful with every piece of furniture. I expect to move again next year and have already called them to let them know they'll be moving me. I cannot recommend them enough. Also, the day before my move, 2 years ago, I got covid. I called Mr. Kurti and as it turned out he had it also. Anyway, he was wonderful about it and we had to postpone my move a week. But the best part was how he and his wife cared for me! yes I mean cared for me. I have no family in State College and friends lived in Bellefonte, plus with planning to move at that time I had absolutely NO food in the house. His wife unexpectedly brought me bags of food and food that I could eat while sick. She certainly knew what a sick person needed. I was amazed that she would do that and was so blessed by her kindness. They were both so gracious towards me. And THAT is what Kurtious movers is all about, caring and kindness. Patrick and his crew, Renaldo, Nitua, Gerand and Kevin, exceeded the already high expectations I had based upon the reviews. I will happily recommend Bookstore to family and friends and will never use another moving company. Their strength, kindness, commitment and pride in their job and the company, organization, efficiency as a crew (this was amazing to watch- they just flowed as a team of 5 and Patrick was an excellent leader!), was consitent and apparent throughout the entire time they spent with us. I really can't say enough good things about the experience and hope to work with them again when we hopefully buy a place and move in the next couple of years. I worked with a different moving company 2 years ago that left me scarred for life with how rude and unprofessional they were. I ended up having to finish the job myself (moving my giant couch up four flights of stairs), so when I knew I was moving again, I did my due diligence and sought out a few quotes. Another company quoted me almost $800 and required a 3 hour minimum for the job!! $800 seemed steep and I knew the job wouldn't take that long... Along came Bookstore Movers who quoted me a reasonable $470 minimum for two hours of work and a maximum of $680 for 3.5 hours of work (price breakdown: $140 per hour with 2 hour min. plus a $190 truck fee). I received a quote within a few hours of requesting it. There was no deposit required and the date was booked. I received detailed emails leading up to the move about FAQs, tips for a seamless move, and the names of my crew including contact info for the crew lead. Abdul (crew lead), Niiwayo "Y.O", and Milly were SO fast and friendly. They wrapped every single item with care in drop cloths and got to moving immediately. Despite the 90 degree heat and a total of five flights of stairs, the job was finished in 2 hours. I was SO impressed. I was so traumatized by my last move that I literally had to walk away while they moved the couch in but before I knew it, I got a text from my boyfriend telling me they had fit it through the door and our living room was all set up. I was so relieved and happy to work with them. If and when we move again, (hopefully not anytime soon, lol), I will 100% be contacting Bookstore Movers... and you should too!

As this was unavoidable, I got on the hunt for a reputable, highly recommended moving company. And I was super duper happy to find A Few Good College Men. Their communication was great, the charges were clearly laid out, they arrived on time, and most importantly took the utmost care with my belongs and furniture. Clearly they have been in the business for a while, because the truck was loaded so intricately and with a lot of care. We had two stops - the first to drop off stuff to the house and the next to the storage unit. With both stops - I was really impressed with the professionalism. All in all, my husband and I both agree that they were excellent value for money; and I really felt peace of mind throughout the moving process! Some of the other moving companies I contacted never returned my voicemail. We got my move scheduled a few weeks before it was to happen. This was very easy with me discussing the details with Pam as well as texting her photos of the rooms and larger items. There were some blips in the delivery of the Pod and I am so grateful that Pam was able to reschedule with such short notice. Our move was a bit more complex. Double D's had to meet us at a location in Camp Hill to pick up a truck full of furniture. This was brought to our Harrisburg home. And then this as well as everything in our house was loaded into a 16 foot pod. Part of the reason I picked double D's was because of their glowing reviews and their ability to load a POD very tight. They exceeded expectations and used every bit of the pod from floor to ceiling. (A 16 foot POD is for a house up to 1400 ft.². This of course doesn't include your basement, attic, and garage.) They did an amazing job! We had a few items that did not fit and we expected this because a 16" pod is not as big as you expect it to be. (No big deal because we will drive them at another date to our new location.) They then drove these items back to the Camp Hill address where we could store them. The price was very fair. The move was great they took very good care of my Antique furniture and other containers. Which was very unprofessional when there was more than enough room for her things to fit. Especially, when the truck had more than enough room if packed correctly. We went to get breakfast still no call, text,or email. I called while at breakfast and was told by Dwayne that the helpers woke up late and they will be at the house by 12pm. Upon their arrival at 2pm (5 hours late), Dwayne called and advised they were at the house and decided to unload the truck in the driveway. As we pulled up to the house from picking up cleaning supplies and water for the guys we noticed our stuff on the driveway like it was a garage sale or something. It was so unprofessional and disappointing to see. Then, after they moved the things into the house Dwayne seemed frustrated and annoyed when I asked about him installing the TV's and assembly of the beds which was part of the agreement. He proceeded to install the bed and TV's. He seemed to struggle to install a TV wall mount and TV on the wall. Then, I went out to the hardware store to pick up more proper screws for the TV mount. Not sure what he did with the screws he removed in Manchester for the same mount. All the screws were packed and labled to make the installations smooth. But while I was gone he assembled 1 queen frame and a twin futon. When I came back they placed the TV on the wall and I looked at everything that wasn't till wrapped in plastic. They brought in the final piece of furniture. It was completely destroyed. I told them to leave it in the Garage. He decided to leave it right at the entrance of the garage door. So I had to move it to the side wall myself. He said it was fixable and its not. We went to sleep woke up the next morning sat back on the bed and the bed shifted with a loud bang. Noticed that the bed wasn't properly assembled screws missing and loose. I immediately checked everything. The twin bed was missing screws and shifting left and right. My antique coffee table was scuffed in mutiple places, dinning table scuffed, dressers scuffed, bed frame chipped and scuffed, some China plates cracked and destroyed, desk missing a part, screws checked and noticed screws were loosened and had to be tightened and the motor bar was disconnected, computer monitor mount was chipped like it was dropped on the ground. I was emailed by Dwayne to sent photos was told by email that they did their best and I would be fully compensated. I'm still waiting.
