Doctors are great, desk staff is rude every time! I mentioned a nurse coughing severely and was told not to judge because she has lung issues. There are a lot of old people that come here and are scared to catch anything. Noone knows she has lung issues and she should wear a mask!!!!! read more

Today, Monday 3/9/26 I saw Dr. Jennifer S. Landy at Sight360 Eye Associates of Pinellas Park. 1st, I don't know if she has an Eating Disorder, but she was shockingly gauntly and skeptical thin. She used no gloves, no soap & water, no hand sanitizer , touching my eyes, eyelid and flipping my eyelid with filthy hands , and misdiagnosed me with "nighttime/ sleep time involuntary eyelid flipping ". Suggested to tape my eyelids or wear an eyepatch. I ALREADY ALWAYS sleep with a sleep mask on. My eyelids are NOT involuntarily flipping themselves, as I sleep! I'd rather go blind than have her come anywhere near me with a scalpel as a board-certified ophthalmologist and oculoplastic surgeon. But before her: Her assistant, taking pictures of my eyes & eyelids, before the doctor came into the room. Asked me to flip my eyelid, to show her abrasion/ scar tissue I'm feeling in my eyes. Other than silly elementary school kids, I don't know of any sane adults arbitrarily running around flipping their eyelids. That's dangerous & dumb! That's my FIRST & LAST visit! That place is like a factory inside! My appointment was at 7:50am, when I arrived at 7:45am, there were already 16 people waiting ahead of me. NEVER AGAIN! NOTE: Absolutely NOTHING was cleaned or disinfected in my presence. I have no idea if the 2 different rooms, had sterilized chin and forehead guards or not. But in this day and age, at best it's lazy, cheap & unacceptable, at worst it's possibly infectious, contagious maybe even deadly! read more

Confused front desk and long waits for treatment. You could go blind before they help.

I believe the issues with this business stems from corporate policy. All the staff I interacted with were very nice and tried their best. However the phone system is the worst of the worst in this world of automated black holes. After many attempts and several weeks to reach someone including leaving two voice message, I finally reached a live body. She checked while I waited and determine that my glasses had been delivered to the optical department. I went to try them on and I was seeing horizontal double. The POLICY is I must "accepted" the glasses for three days, then return and get rescheduled with the Optometrist. I am leaving in just a few days for 4 months. I asked if I could return then to deal with the issue. The answer while politely given was NO. The corporate POLICY says the glasses guarantee is only good for 60days. I am now out $200 with a pair of glasses I can not use. read more

Referred by primary doctor, my father was first told he needs a referral, second call they were able to make an appointment for him and was told no referral needed. Unfortunately, he was late 10 min and they refused to take him. Decided to give them another take, called to make an appointment and for 15 min the person on the phone is trying to convince me that he should see an optometrist instead of one of their Dr. Finally speaks with Manager and now they can make an appointment but they don't have any until October. Wish I could give them "0" stars! The facility on 93rd and 66th Street is horrible! They have the nerve to ask you to get there 15 minutes early... Why???... Because for my mother's appointment that was for 1:40 PM, we didn't get finished until 4 PM, and the glaucoma specialist barely gave her 5 mins of her time! It's outrageous!!! Many people were still there at 4pm that had appointments before my mom's. You first wait forever in their main lobby, then from one room to another with 20-30 min waits in between... it's absurd, and is always such a horrible experience there, sadly Medicare through Humana doesn't give her many choices. read more

Went there this morning and I've never been treated so rudely by a doctor before in my life. Even the nurse was clearly taken aback by the dr's behavior. I ended up getting up and walking out. I will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau and all relevant licensing boards. RUN! Three months (after exam) to get the "Prescription" for contacts because the Optometrist had not given the "final approval" in the computer system. Phone rings to a call center not an office. My wife had to see someone fast, due to an emergency situation and they took her in immediately. She was not a current patient, so that was very good service. They had to remove an item that got imbedded inside her eyelid and was scratching her eye. She was in great pain and they took care of her quickly and with great care. The office staff was helpful and efficient. She didn't have to wait long and was very satisfied with the experience. No more pain. And the issue has been resolved. Thank you! read more

I made several phone calls and left a very clear message for them to return my call I have not received any calls back this is to follow up on a procedure and an exam that I had done there. Dr. Handza is a 5 star doc. However the wait time and front desk system need much improvement. 09/05/2019 Review Eye Assoc. of Pinellas Arrived 6:55am to 7am appointment. Checked in only 2 of us in wait room. 30 minutes later, I asked front desk clerk what was up with wait? Her response was abrupt a bit snarky stating I told you I was not sure if the Dr. accepted your Medical Insurance. No change in my insurance in over 10 years, they have billed and been paid thousands of dollars for my eye treatment since 2018. Not sure if it's a tech problem, clearance issue or just a person problem. Honestly, after more and more people who arrived much later were called into office prior to me I was upset. So my rating for the medical staff, is 4 to 5 star, rating for their delivery system not so good -5 at least. I have been going to Eye Associates of Pinellas for a number of years at the 1915 34th ST N. , St. Petersburg, FL 33713 location. They always treat me as though I'm special and it's a refreshingly pleasurable experience. Had my vision checked for possible cataracts and to upgrade my glasses on 4-6-22. The refractory exam was conducted by someone other than the optometrist and seemed slip-shod at best, I didn't think if likely that this process would be too difficult. Turns out, I was incorrect. The prescription provided was way off. The company from which I purchased the glasses actually made my glasses twice trying to accomodate this new prescription. Finally I paid an additional $138 for a second review elsewhere to find that the prescription Eye Associates provided me was way off. My new prescription has restored my vision. I considered going back to Eye Associates but since they were so far off I thought it best not to do so. read more

Bad day and appointment at Eye Associates of Pinellas. So many things were awful at today's appointment. Total confusion on the staff's part today. Confused about where I was suppose to be. Then, a chin guard and other equipment was not wiped down and disinfected before I was asked to put my face on it. Welcome Coronavirus! Also, I was poked in the eye twice during one tech's exam. That doesn't put a patient in a very relaxed or trusting place to continue the exams. And worst of all, I believe I failed an important eye test simply because it was not properly explained to me, so I was not informed enough to give correct responses to what I was seeing. In fact, none of the things done to my eyes today were explained in advance. It would put a patient at ease if he / she knew what these techs were going to do their eyes before it happened. That said, the doctors and techs couldn't be nicer or sweeter. The techs were just a mess today in the execution of their jobs. And I will agree with Tim H.'s review of Eye Associates of Pinellas from almost a year ago to the day. The woman working in the optical and glasses section is "VERY rude" and shouldn't be working in that job. I was looking a new frames and this woman acted like I was in her way and imposition to her...AND WASN'T EVEN ASKING FOR HER HELP! This rude person needs to be relocated. I recently used this center for the treatment of cataracts. Every part of this experience was excellent. There was very little wait time at the appointments. The facility is clean and well organized. I went there to buy glasses as this place is on my insurance. It wasn't a good experience. The girl in the optical area was VERY rude and had a "don't care" attitude. The price she quoted for my glasses was $625.00 even with my insurance! This was using the cheapest (ugly) frames I have ever seen! We left and told her we needed to check other places and she acted like she didn't care. We then went Eyeglass World on 4th Street and what a difference! All of the sales associates were SO friendly and acted like they loved their job. I ended up getting MUCH better glasses from very friendly people for $295.00 and they didn't even use my insurance! Don't go to Eye Associates of Pinellas unless you are desperate and want to be treated very rudely. read more

My mother has been a patient at this office for her macular degeneration for years. They not only have been dismissive of her concerns about receiving eye injections, when she had a bad outcome after her first injection, they assured her that everything was normal and would be fine in a couple days. Over two weeks later, her vision is still compromised and she is worried that it will never return to normal. They have refused to return her calls, and are unwilling to take the time to address her concerns. Please do not send your loved ones to this doctor for macular degeneration care. They do not demonstrate genuine concern for their patients. My mother will be seeking treatment from another doctor from now on. read more

Even for scheduled appointments (about 10 days prior in my case) the wait time is ridiculous!! Be ready for a SEVERAL hour wait for a total contact/exam time w the dr of about 5 minutes. The several waiting rooms are ALWAYS packed with very few open seats due to the extreme over scheduling!! They don't seem to think their patient's time is important at all. First the facts around my review of this organization. My wife and I were both experiencing eye problems and needed to see an ophthalmologist to obtain proper care. My wife had her first appointment with Eye Associates in early September. At that time, she was diagnosed with cataracts. At that time, she was given another appointment in November that we assumed would be for her measurements for new lens to correct her medical problem. When she went to her November appointment instead of making the lens measurements, they just verified she had cataracts and assigned her to another appointment on December 30th to do her measurements. My wife was upset concerning the delay and called Eye Associates and requested to be put onto a list in case there was a cancellation. The response she received was, "Sure, you never know, someone just may die." Me and my wife consider this extremely inappropriate. In summary, it would take four months and three office visits to get her eyes measured for new lenses. I became upset concerning this delay in her care and found out in my research that in almost all cases, other ophthalmologist accomplish the lens measurement when they first discover the cataracts, or at worst, the next visit. Let me also point out that Eye Associates would be able to bill the insurance company for each office visit. At this point, I decided to look for another provider. In my search, I found out that our insurance company had terminated all ophthalmologist in Pinellas County except for one. I then had to go through the process of finding a new provider that was out of network. I will not go into details, but just to say that the insurance company fought me hard not to let us go out of network. I finally had to get the Federal Insurance Commission involved to help get it done, but finally it was allowed. In my wife's two appointments, she did become exposed to some very rude and curt behavior. She did mention that to a couple of employees but apparently, nothing was done, as a follow up, to correct the issue. My wife had her first visit a few days ago with our new provider and they not only measured her for the new lenses, but also scheduled her for surgery. Let me reiterate, THE FIRST VISIT!! Now for my situation. I had my first visit with the ophthalmologist, and he was not sure if my problem was what is called dry eye or an allergy. He prescribed an allergy drop for my eyes and terminated the visit. There was no follow up appointment scheduled to see if the treatment worked. I did have another appointment scheduled in about three weeks but that was for my yearly eye exam. When I got to that appointment, it was a different doctor and he admitted he did not know all the details concerning my previous visit, so I tried to fill him in. He told me he did not think it was an allergy and advised me to put hot compresses on my eyes and continue to use eye drops. No follow up was scheduled except for a pressure check in six months. I also ran into some very cold and basically unfriendly behavior from the staff. In fact, the Dr. inquired as to what eyedrops I was using and when he found out what brand I was using, he asked why I was using it. I told him the pharmacist had recommended it due to some chemical attributes. His comment was, "The pharmacist should stick to giving out drugs and I will take care of people's eyes. "Also, during the appointment, the Dr. wanted a trainee to look into my eyes. He was getting ready to leave and I reminded him that he wanted the trainee to look into my eyes. He said yes that is correct and instructed her to look through the machine into my eyes. That said, he left abruptly, and the trainee did her thing without any supervision. To me, this was not appropriate. In both of my appointments with two different doctors, I was never told what my diagnosis was. They also did an exam on my eyes and generated a new prescription for my glasses which I filled. I had all kind of problems seeing with the new prescription. I also have had my first visit with our new provider, and it was completely different than Eye Associates. They did a new exam on my eyes and generated a new script for my eyes. The company I purchased my glasses from indicated the new prescription was quite a bit stronger than the old script and explained why I had trouble seeing out of the script that Eye Associates gave me. The new provider took both my wife and I at the same time and the Dr. spent a great deal of time with both of us. He explained in detail what he thought was my issue and gave detail instructions on how to help to correct the issue. In fact, he and his staff, to support my wife and myself, stayed until approximately 6:00 p.m. to make sure we were taken care of. Conclusion. My conclusions are based upon my extensive business background in corporate America and my educational background. I had an appointment today June 21st at 1:30...I know I always have to wait a while...the entire lobby was full which means at least 50 people! Mostly elderly some with walkers..as I waited at this point 30 minutes an elderly women walks in with her walker and checks in turns around to find a place to sit...I was the only one to help this poor woman! Then they call her back up after she was finally situated...at that point I had been waiting 40 minutes! I walked up to the desk that all the girls working can see over and said this poor woman can barely get around and you're calling her back up??? I then grabbed my purse and left while saying "Good luck people!" This practice is ridiculous and overbook way too much! Eye Associates used to be a good place to go but not anymore. I'm 52 years old and I DO NOT need to be lectured on what needs to be done. As far back as I can remember in my 52 years I have always suffered adverse affects from getting my eyes dilated. My blood pressure goes through the roof and suffer a headache worse than a migraine. Just 4 years ago it was so bad I had to pull over and throw up. Yeah, that was fun, puking my guts out in front of passing cars. Last year I had it done and spent 5 hours in bed with a pillow over my face to block out all light. I had an appointment yesterday, 09/27/16, for my annual eye exam. Remember what I went through 4 years ago and last year I opted out of getting my eyes dilated and had to sign a waiver. NO PROBLEM, HAND ME A PEN, I said. She performed the letter tests and looking in my eyes and told me my eyes were almost the same as last year. I'm thinking GOOD, I CAN LEAVE... NOPE The tech, or whatever she is called told me I had every right to refuse any treatment because it was my body. Then felt it necessary to give me a lecture on the benefits of getting my eyes dilated. I told her I know all that but still continued. She finally finished and left after telling me the Doctor will be right in. A knock on the door and the optician's assistant came in and performed the same damn tests as the tech. He begins to lecture me why I need my eyes dilated. With almost hate in my voice I say YES, I KNOW, I KNOW. After he was finished I'm thinking I get to leave, WRONG. As he walks out the door he tells me the doctor will be right in. OMFG!!! The doctor comes in and once again my eyes have bright lights being shined in them. At this point I'm getting pissed off. Then she's done shining the lights she decides to give me a long lecture about refusing to get my eyes dilated. To finish her lecture she tells me that my doctors office will most likely send me back to get dilated. I said to myself, A THREAT? She finally says I'm done and can leave and follows me to the desk like I'm blind and have no clue where I'm going. The first person I saw told me my eyes are the same as last year so I don't need glasses. Why the hell put me through all that crap if my eyes are the same? I will not be going back to Eye Associates of Pinellas or any place associated with them. I am so done with this place. read more

They have a lovely theater-type waiting room, but the wait there is very long. Once you get guided into an exam room, the wait is very long. You got dilated? Wow, you will be waiting for like ever for the doc to get back to you. They do not give you a feeling of great trust or that you are important to them. The receptionist was rude rude rude. The doc(or technician?) I saw initially there was flippant. She had another doc see me there and he was awesome. The people at the checkout/scrip desk were wonderful, but again the wait was unbelievably long. I have not been back. I have never felt so unimportant as a customer. I had an appointment with The Eye associates of Pinellas on May 21 and my wait time was only five minutes. The office staff and vision assistants were very professional. The equipment they use for testing is state of the art. I was very impressed with the Doctor that treated my condition and would recommend this practice to anyone that needs vision testing. read more
