I am in love. DR COX saved the day for me. I was frustrated after three trips to get my drivers license renewed only to fail the eye exam. Today was my birthday, so end of the line. No more driving. He wrote a prescription for new glasses and they made them, right there while I went out for a Whataburger. Took my glasses back to the Texas Dept of Public Safety, put them on and passed the exam. Easy to make our appointments, insurance has never been a problem, and the optical attached is convenient and has always done right by us! We have seen all the doctors at one time or another and they are all wonderful, not only in their assessment and knowledge, but in their patient care and explanations of procedure and treatment options. Bad service, long waiting time even with appointment. Walked out after being left in a room for more than a half hour, with no explaination or answer on how much longer the wait would be. I'm not bringing my kids here anymore, I would not recommend this place. I got there half hour early and got called 20 minutes later than my scheduled appointment. I am so pleased with the Eye Center of Uvalde! The staff is very professional and thorough, the facility is gorgeous and clean. I've been going to Dr. Cox for several years. (His wife and one other doctor also practice here). He is always willing to spend lots of time answering my questions and works very hard to come up with the best solutions for my vision. Currently, I'm wearing mono vision contact lenses and it took quite awhile to get used to them and I went back for many "tweaks" until we got it right. I've always had some type of vision insurance, but never a plan that they were on. They would give me a discount on my exam and also on glasses/contacts to account for that. Now, I'm on VSP/Guardian and they take that plan! During a recent issue, the office staff was able to run the billing through my medical insurance plan and get it covered that way. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a check in the mail from them because of that. They just really all go the extra mile. read more
