We went tubing this past weekend and overall had a decent time. The river was low like we had to walk quite a bit of it like I would say 30-40% of the entire trip. I know this isn't Josh's fault so I am not basing the review on that just giving a heads up. I figured with all the rain recently it would have been a lot higher and it rained every night we stayed at GSP too. With that said I wish we would have gotten the bottomless tubes because it would have worked better giving the low river. The guy was nice that took and picked us up. Would I do it again probably not. read more

Friendly and fun staff, prompt at picking us up when our river float was over. They have a nice store and their tube rentals are reasonably priced. I will use them again for future trips. read more

The "tubing" was terrible on a low river where we had to get out and walk our tubes because there was no movement. They did tell us that the river was a little slow, but when the wind can blow you upstream, that's sort of an understatement. Our drop-off and pick-up guys couldn't have been more helpful or personable. Kudos to them. They took ALL the information from our credit card as a"deposit" in case we stole their tubes. Good day on the Frio with my lovely wife and family. Well there's really never a bad day on the water. We called ahead that morning to confirm location and dog friendly, *who answered! None other than Josh himself. We arrived later that afternoon to a maze of cars, people, coolers, tubes ETC eeeeverywhere... Pulling up around back we were met by, yep, Josh (maybe everyone is named Josh?) he was keeping the wheels rolling, shuttles moving, people un/loading with a smile. After purchasing shuttle passes, it was less than 20 mins and we were loaded up and under way. Good stuff. 100's of lost adults, kids, dogs, coolers, tubes, where's the ice, iglass bungies, hats, shirts, parking, all in one fluid motion under the masterful control of J and his (assumption) wife!! We had a great time visiting the frio river this weekend, until I lost my swimsuit after leaving it at the lodge we stayed in after check out on Sunday. So I headed over to Josh's Frio River Outfitters to buy a new one. When I got to the register the girl working swiped my card and immediately I got a notification on my phone from my banking app that my purchase for $41.11 was approved. I waited a second and the girl looked confused and said the system had frozen. I waited a good 15 minutes while they tried to figure it out. Another man comes over to help and I showed them both my card had been charged, but they couldn't see it on their end they said. Finally after a short while, the employee tells me that it went through and I'm good to go. I thanked him and went on my way, not waiting for a receipt bc I had intended to use the swimsuit immediately and not return. All good right? No. Around 8:45 pm Tracey and I went down to have a drink and eat at the Inn we had moved to, to stay one more night in town. We walk up to the bar and a man comes up behind us and asked us to come with him. It's the local sheriff. We willingly start to walk out to talk with him and before I make it to the door he begins pushing me in my side. I turn and ask him not to touch me and ask what this is about. He VERY rudely tells me to "shut up if I don't want to go to jail" he says I was at a local property in town and owe someone "$30". He continues to threaten us and makes a phone call to " Josh" to tell him he "has his people". When I tried to explain what happened in the store the sheriff didn't want to hear any of it and accuses me of using a "bad card". When Josh shows up, I'm forced by the sheriff to hand over cash to Josh or risk being arrested, even though I showed them both it is very clearly pending in my account that my card WAS charged, explained HIS employee told me it went through and I was good to leave after I waited very patiently for them to figure out what was wrong. While I think the store and the tubing experience was nice, what I really want to brag about is the staff at the Concan location. Specifically Bailey, Kaylie, Nadia, Deborah, James, Ralph and Easi (I hope I'm not forgetting anyone). After floating the river yesterday which took us twice as long as we had expected, we arrived to find our car wouldn't start. It was 7:00 and the store was officially closed but the girls inside let us change and use their cell phones to make calls to AAA etc since our phones didn't have service. Ralph called a family member with a tow truck for us. They waited there with us for almost an hour to make sure we got our car situation handled and they even gave my 3 kids free ice cream. They went far and above what was required. Doing your job and doing it well is one thing but knowing a business will go the extra mile for you is definitely worth more than 5 stars. read more
