My appointment was at 2:30pm and I arrived at 2:29 pm. I signed in and waited, and waited and waited. Finally at 4:20, I was called back by the technician. I got all excited like finally!!! After the technician completed my exam, I expected the doctor to come in and see me. Instead, I was sat back in the waiting room for almost 2 more hours (it's 6:10 pm as I type and the just called me into the room with the doctor). I'm beyond hot! This is unacceptable! This is not a clinic or emergency room, this is a doctor's office where I had an appointment! I've been getting my eyes examined for years and never have I waited over 2 hours. As a matter of fact, I'm normally seen and released within 2 hours of my appointment time. I really wanted to like these people because they are super nice but they have a way to go in professionalism! There's a major difference! It's now 6:37 pm and I'm getting another OPD reading at the request of the doctor ‍‍ Do better Dixon Eyecare! Bad look for my first visit.

Zoom call with eye doctor. I came in to get the 2 for $95. They were more than THREE HUNDRED for…read moresingle lens, and I can't see out of either pair. The sales guy was rude beyond description. I was at least five feet away and he claimed I was getting "inside his bubble". I literally went and stood by the door and yelled to him. Three more visits and I still see better out of my 10+ year old glasses. I guess I am headed for Walmart. I also purchased contact lenses, and couldn't see out of them either. First, I rinsed the lenses with new saline and put them into my eyes. Quite easily. My eyes started burning immediately and streaming tears. I had a horrible time getting them out, but was eventually able to rinse my eyes with water from their sink. The manager acted like I was the dumbest person she had ever met. She said that the contacts were stored in cleaning solution, which contained peroxide, and you're not supposed to put peroxide in your eyes. SO, they sold me cleaning solution with peroxide in it, that I was supposed to use EVERY NIGHT, and they couldn't see a problem with not being able to rinse the cleaning solution off enough to make then safe to wear??? As you would expect, I threw them away.

However, Dr. Dixon was such a disappointment and so frustrating to deal with. He tried to decrease my contact strength prescription without letting me even try on any trials (thank God for the woman checking me out who made sure to find some me to try on before we ordered because I would've been pissed off getting contacts that I couldn't see through), kept promoting some podcast he was going to be on, tried to tell me that my primary physician wasn't going to truly check on one of my health conditions that I needed to get an ultrasound from him instead, told me to look something up using AI, and couldn't dumb down an explanation of something that was, as he described it, "pretty sciency" (I'm a month away from having a masters degree in biology mind you). He tried to schedule me for an unnecessary procedure after telling him I'm losing my insurance very soon. He also stated he "wouldn't be mad" if I chose to stay with my original prescription instead of going with the lower strength one, as if a decision regarding my body and what is going to be best for me should include factoring in his emotions. A genuine disgrace to eye doctors who are actually worth a hoot. If you don't want to be scared into going to the doctor or receiving an unnecessary procedure, I recommend going elsewhere.
