By New Year's Day I was in so much pain I went to the Emergency Department. They gave me two pain tablets while I was there. Then I was given a bottle of numbing drops and told to use them sparingly. Since they couldn't write me for pain medication. Luckily Eye North texted me on the third. When they found out what I was using they both came into the office to meet me. These drops caused coronial erosion. They put a very expensive placenta cover on my eye hoping to rebuild the coronial. When that didn't work, they referred me to a specialist and I just got the eye patch off last week. If they hadn't checked in on me I probably would have lost the sight in one eye

I first found out about Weis Eye Center due to their membership with the Hermantown Area Chamber of Commerce and their radio commercials on 92.1 The Fan. Dr. Jeffrey Weis and the staff at the Weis Eye Center, specifically Bernie, were with me every step of the way making sure that all of my questions were answered and that I was comfortable with the process prior to the day of surgery. On the day of the procedure itself, I was in and out of the office in 15 minutes. The Z-LASIK itself was under two minutes and the staff made sure I was comfortable and aware of the process. The first few hours at home following the surgery does mean some burning and discomfort in the eyes which they recommend let pass by sleeping as much as possible. At the follow up visit the very next morning I was already seeing at 20/20! Each follow up was quick and easy. I highly recommend the Weis Eye Center!

We were able to go to our local hospital versus get in a long line of surgeries that exist at some of the local hospitals. Aftercare was encouraging , appointments were never backed up with delays. Office staff were pleasant and efficient. Insurance covered the majority of billing in our case but we checked that carefully beforehand to understand our responsibilities.

I have had several surgeries in both eyes over those years, (trabeculectomies in both eyes) at this clinic. Doctors here are not averse to referrals to other ophthalmologists when circumstances dictate a need beyond their capacities or for the financial benefit of the patient. I still have 20/20 vision in both eyes due to the conscientiousness, talent, discretion and communication abilities of doctors and staff at Bonner Eye Clinic. Highly recommended!!

(2) The optical staff were my problem (consistently over last 3 yrs); not happy with them AT ALL. Actual Drs and people who assess your prescription were great, but the optical and desk staff were ignorant and the optical staff -- consistently RUDE. I need a different RX for every distance & this requires the optical person to _listen_ when I explain what distance(s) I need a progressive lens for & what I need to be able to see. Also when I asked for a copy of my Rx (so I could get glasses elsewhere), on 2 occasions they sent me the wrong Rx. When the new eyeglass shop calls them, suddenly the latest Rx is given.
