I'll start this review by saying that I visited this office several weeks ago. I didn't want to leave a review until I was able to visit another office for a second opinion, which I did today. So much about my appointment at eye examiners was strange, that I'll have to just give you the high points. After my exam was completed, the doctor discussed my prescription with his assistant in front of me, and changed his mind about it several times, saying things like "actually I think I'll try this". This was very confusing to me, as I know that a vision exam always yields a conclusive result. He then told me that my vision had spontaneously improved and my astigmatism had gone away. I did question him about this, because I was under the impression that vision did not simply "spontaneously improve" at my age unless there was a greater issue at play affecting the eyes (diabetes, cataracts, etc). The doctor replied that he "tries to decrease patients prescriptions whenever he can". The doctor also told me that I failed my field test (a test I've never had done before), which meant I had a one in ten chance of having an eye disease which he never named. I was then told they did not have my prescription of contacts in stock, so they would give me something better than what I already had at home until my new prescription came in. I put in that pair and went to the desk to pay. They then called me back to the sink and told me to take the right contact out because they had once again decided they wanted to "try something different with that eye". I knew immediately upon putting in those contacts that something was not right, but I did not question it, because I do not like to be difficult, and I wanted to believe the doctor knew what he was doing. So I waited hours hoping they would eventually become clearer. They never did. I could not see five feet in front of me in those contacts. It's a miracle I made it home. Today I saw a different eye doctor, who confirmed that my experience was strange, and my vision had not spontaneously improved, my astigmatism had not gone away, but actually worsened, and I showed no signs of having any eye health issues. This was so validating to hear. All that said, I would not recommend this establishment to anyone in my life. Go anywhere else and you'll be better off. read more

Staff is great! The girls are always happy and smiling. Clinic atmosphere is good, you will wait a little while unless you get the first appointment in the morning or right after lunch but clinics get busy and I get that. BUT what I didn't like is how the doctor talks to his staff. I understand wanting your clinic to run smoothly but there is no reason to make these sweet girls cry. They are obviously trying their best and he was belittling them in front of patients and it's not cool. They are probably struggling to make ends meet and coming to work everyday where someone treats them poorly is a horrible life to live. I hope he takes a little bit of gratitude that they continue show up and continue to do their best for him, being nice will get you a lot further than being mean. It's obviously a very Christian place since he is giving out bibles but God does not want you to use your authority to be mean to the people who work for you. Please treat them better I feel so bad for that girl who was crying :( read more

The friendliest bunch here. I came in for an exam on Saturday, walked in , handed the young lady my insurance card , and was out the door in less than 30 minutes. We were laughing, and joking so much it seamed like I was only there 10 minutes. You can't get a walk in eye exam on Saturday's , the day most people have off to take care of things like this . read more

Dr. Marcev is great & other staff is kind & considerate. I felt very comfortable here.

The eye doctor himself was super nice and got my prescription perfect, however the rest of the staff was not so good. The receptionist was super rude to my dad. When the dude came out to get me, he asked the lady which one I was and she said, "The short one." It was very unprofessional and rude. They did not give me anything to cover my eyes after dilation. Then when we we're leaving, the receptionist was rude to my mom like she was with my dad. Might not go back. read more

I would NEVER recommend them to anyone! I had a 9:15 am appointment. Over 2 hours later my appointment still wasn't finished! I didn't get out until almost 1pm! I also didn't care for the staff. The nurse was nice but not anybody else. I was given a hard time because my daughter is shy and wont talk. This is why I was recommended to come here. I will never come back! read more

SLOW! The first time I came here, it was as a walk-in. I wasn't surprised or offended that I had to stay in the lobby for a couple hours. I didn't have an appointment, so I would have to wait. No biggie. A couple weeks ago my daughter needed to see an eye doctor, so I made sure to call and make an appointment. We showed up early, filled out all required paperwork before the appointment was scheduled. Should have been quick and easy. It wasn't. Even with an appointment, we were in the office for well over two hours. Most of that time spent in the lobby watching people who had appointments scheduled after ours being served. The doctor doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason to the order he calls patients to the examination room, he just picks them on a whim. The "assistants" (I use the word loosely) were disorganized, loud, and utterly unprofessional. Simple tasks such as calling to ask what color contacts someone wanted to order were treated as if they were beyond complicated and must be handled as a group. The annoying staff along with the unapologetically slow service makes me think that I would rather go blind than visit this office again. read more

Eye Examiners, for me, has been very gratifying. Dr. Marcev knows his stuff! He will take the time to explain everything so that I understand what and why the eye tests are necessary. When Dr. Marcev says he will call later with medical information I need, he calls. Sometimes it may be 6:30 pm and he is still at work. His staff is great and even when they are busy, they will answer all questions patients ask. On the phone, they end the call with a sincere thank you for calling. The staff is willing to take the time to explain about insurance, and don't mind calling up the insurance companies to fix any problems. read more

***Update*** Upon my second visit, Dr. Marcev and the employees at Eye Examiners have more than made up for my initial experience. Much to my amazement, this time things went differently--I was attended right away even though I was running ten minutes late. Dr. Marcev apologized profusely for anything that happened during my first visit and assured me he really cares about his patients and the service that they receive. I could tell he really meant it. I was given a refund and also received a complimentary pair of contacts, which was something I didn't expect at all. Wow, I was blown away by their effort to set things right. I highly recommend Dr. Marcev and his team to anyone that wants a friendly and personal experience at the eye doctor. Not only will they do everything in their power to help you see your best but they will do it with care, friendliness and a personal touch. I had the exact same experience as the previous poster except my first visit was with an appointment. The only reason I made the appointment was because the receptionist was incredibly nice and they seemed to be the least inexpensive and closest out of all the eye clinics I had called. I had to wait a good bit to be seen and the whole process took well over three hours for an eye exam. Turns out the total was 127 anyway and I could've either driven downtown and got an eye exam for cheaper or payed 20 to 30 more bucks and skipped the headache. It was the most ridiculous experience period.The employees seemed very disorganized and unprofessional. I was left waiting without being told why or what I was waiting for after the eye exam was finished. I saw plenty of people that were being attended before me that had gotten there after me. When it came to try my contacts on, the place was super cramped and the employees working there made it seem like it was the most complicated thing to accomplish. Unfortunately, I will have to return one more time to get my contacts checked and I can assure you that will be my last. read more

Dr. Marcev has been my eye doctor since summer 2002 and I have been very satisfied with his work over the years. He delivers efficient, knowledgeable, and friendly service at a competitive price. Dr. Marcev takes an interest in each patient and we have had many enjoyable conversations over the years. He does a very good job of explaining any eye problem you may have and the resulting treatment process/processes. His staff has always been helpful and attentive in the past. Anytime I talk with his staff, whether by phone or in person, to schedule an appointment or order contacts, they are very polite. I highly recommend Dr. Marcev and Eye Examiners for all of your eye needs. read more

My wife went to visit Dr. Marcev to check out some "floaters." Dr. Marcev, after examination recognized a tear in her retina. The seriousness of the situation became evident as he stayed until 6:pm on a Friday (his son's 12th birthday) calling to secure a slot for my wife to be seen by a trusted specialist, Dr. Abumere Akinwale (who was awesome as well) the NEXT Day. That being Saturday. We were seen by the specialist and the tear was fixed that morning. Much thanks to Dr. Marcev and his staff for going the extra mile or two. He cares very much for those who walk in his door. And a shout out to his son for sacrificing his dad's time with him on a special day.
