We decided to have our ceremony overlooking Lake Tahoe with our reception in Incline Village, both venues outside with little to no coverage. During Septemeber, the weather is known for being nice, however, two days before our wedding it snowed and day temperatures were down to 45ºF. I was in a panic because changing your wedding, TWO DAYS BEFORE that date is wedding suicide. I guess the risk comes with the mountain territory. Donna was a champ and used her creativity and endless effort for your happiness, and arranged a new reception venue and turned it into something magical. She, last minute, arranged hot cider, coffee and tea to be served during the ceremony (we did not change that venue due to its importance) and did many other small touches that made a large impact. So why do I recommend Donna? Because at the end of the day you need someone who not only has your interest at heart but has the creativity and passion to make any scenario amazing. She turned a ski lodge bar into a gorgeous mountain retreat! Her pricing is low for all the sweat and creativity she puts into it. We hired Larry as our wedding photographer for our wedding weekend at Betz Ranch in Grass Valley. From the moment we met him, I already knew I would pick him because he was so warm, and friendly. It felt like I was hiring a family members to take our photos at our wedding which is exactly what we wanted. We were impressed with Larry's portfolio because his photography is so natural and not forced, cliche, or cheesy. It was very important to us to have wedding photos that were "us" an not looking like we were posing for an advertisement. With Larry Scott, that is exactly what we got! We decided not to do an engagement shoot, but to have Larry photograph out pre-wedding barbeque (our wedding was a 5 day event). He amazingly captured everyone who was there in such perfect ways that it felt like he really knew our guests. He literally blended right in and somehow knew how to capture every perfect moment as it happened naturally. Amazing. We had a pretty large venue and Larry did an excellent job providing a variety of shots from indoor, to action shots in the pool, to kayaking and paddle boarding on the lake. Larry captured things that I didn't even know had happened until like look at the photots (like my mother in law playing a yard game with my nephew- too cute!) When it came time for the wedding, I didn't want any "getting ready" shots and Larry just went with the flow! He literally blended right in. Most of the time I didn't even notice he was there, which is how I truly wanted it. He brought his second shooter, Adrian (I think- sorry) and the two of them were like stealthy camera ninjas! I truly don't know how he knows just the right moment to take a shot, but the pictures speak for themselves! Even with our non-traditional, silly, hula hoop, dogs, kids, beer theme wedding, Larry just warmed right up and when it came time for him to go, I really wished I would've asked him to stay and join in the festivities! He truly felt like a loving uncle who just happened to have superfluous artistic abilities! My favorite part was when I was dancing with my friends and made eye contact with Larry and he busted a little boogie move! Such a fun guy! I wish I could hire Larry to photograph my life. I was literally sad when he left that he wasn't part of my family. He put up with out weirdness, silliness, and embraced the uniqueness of our relationship and of our family. I would not hesitate to hire Larry Scott again in the future - or even invite him out to lunch! Great guy, breath taking photos, genuine experience. 5 stars all day, every day!!!!
