I've had permanent eyeliner and eyebrows tattooed on by Mel and it looks fantastic! She has pictures and videos of her work, you can check it out before hand so you're completely comfortable. The best part is that it was PAIN FREE. Yep that's right, she numbs the area first with a numbing cream so I didn't feel a thing. The tattoos do look a little dark at first. After about a week the color will fade to the perfect shade so don't freak out. As an added bonus Mel also makes her own soaps and jewelry. Very bad experience. I had done micro blading a couple of years before I went to see Mel. I didn't think that I would need full micro blading, since the baseline was there. However Mel seemed to think that I did. I paid $600; but I don't recall her doing any measurements, which I have since learned is standard for this procedure. Also, my understanding was that this would include a free touch-up visit. It was right before my wedding. I noticed right away that my left eyebrow was much lighter than my right one. My eyebrows also appeared to be uneven. I asked Mel about the follow-up. She said to wait a few weeks. When I tried to schedule it after the allotted amount of time, Mel wasn't getting back to me. When she finally did get back to me, she said that I would have to pay for it. I asked her why and she said that her website states that she no longer does touch-ups for free. She said it would cost $150 but that she would give me a $100 discount. I checked her website, which said that touch-ups cost $100 within the first 6 months, and $150 after that. I mentioned that my micro blading was only a couple months ago but Mel didn't seem to remember me or even acknowledge when I came in. I agreed to pay the $50 because I wanted to fix the problem. However Mel had to reschedule and she was still was not getting back to me about a follow-up visit. When I expressed my frustration via text, I told her that if I didn't hear back from her soon, I would need to go somewhere else. She wrote back and said that she didn't appreciate being threatened, which is not what I was doing. I just wanted my face to look right after investing so much money. Her response seemed like a very immature and unprofessional response to a customer expressing warranted dissatisfaction. I strongly do not recommend this place. read more

I've also heard about instances where the eyebrows got infected. I should have learned from my consultation when she kind of blew me off while she was cleaning but I was going by a friends recommendation. I had some anxiety going into this. Once I was done, i realized she never templated the brow or showed me what her area of microblading would be.. let me just say, I should have went with my gut. My eyebrow (yes 1) is totally jacked up. Its totally higher than the other. The other eyebrow looks like a have flakes of dirt in it. So now I powder/wax them in to try to get them to match. Wasn't too thrilled with my results but not necessarily a reflection of the technician as results differ from person to person. I read the "complications," was informed about flaking, itching, etc. I made every effort not to rub my eyes after eye liner was tattooed but when I woke up it was on my pillow. I am returning to get the top lids re-done as it was not thick enough given my dark eyes...I couldn't really tell I had eye liner on and I did not want the tattoos to look natural...I wanted to look like I had make-up on my lids. This extra thickness will cost me $75 in addition to the Groupon which was already redeemed - $175. I guess I should have explained I wanted it thicker but after the procedure it looked dark enough. The lower lids are fine except one side (the side I sleep on) flaked off so no eye liner was left on that side. The technician is willing to re-do this area for no fee. Overall I really was hoping for darker liner on the top lids...the way it looked right after I had the procedure. Oh well. It was worth a try. We shall see the results after my next appt. read more

This review speaks to the lack of customer service and customer consideration by this business. In order to book an appointment you are forwarded to online booking. There is no pre-appointment conversation or personal contact with Mel. Her prices are extremely high. $500 for an hours worth of work. In addition you have to provide your credit card information so if you do not adhere to the 48 hr cancellation policy or you no show they charge your credit card $50. The same consideration for your time does not go the other way if she cancels, but I will get to that later! I booked my appointment to have my eyebrows done and waited the two weeks. During that time, I conferred with my doctor to discontinue the use of blood thinning pain medication prior to my appointment. This is a challenge for me to manage chronic pain without meds, but nonetheless I was determined to do my part to make this a successful procedure. My appointment was scheduled for Friday. On the Wednesday prior to my appointment I received the following email copied and pasted, from Mel, "I need to move out appointment for Saturday. I'm in Florida and staying Linder than expected. Do you need a Saturday or will weekdays work for you?" My response was that Saturday was fine. I knew I could manage one more day without my medication. I received this response from Mel, " It would be 4pm Does that work? Thanks Mel ." We set the appointment for Saturday. I did not receive any other automated reply as she claimed. I showed up for our appointment 15 mins early ready to go. The other workers in the salon informed me that Mel was not available she was still in Florida! I was told scheduling mishaps with Mel are not uncommon. I contacted her only to learn she booked the appointment for a week from Saturday and failed to let me know. Given my situation, I cannot go another week and hope for the best! Mel did not initially offer any sort of apology or take responsibility for the misunderstanding she created. There is a big lack of consideration for the value of your time. Her lack of personal contact and "automated' system is a joke! This is not a high-end salon by any means, it's a tattoo parlor in the side room of a hole in the wall beauty salon. If your going to charge $500 an hour, your respect for the customer should equally as high. Whether or not she has talent I cannot speak to, but her lack of customer service is evident! read more

Mel is a very nice lady, however she tattoos eyebrows way to dark, and her line work needs more work, because it's very uneven. She tattoos to fast, when she should take her time, and she should ask you what color you want your eyebrows to be. She shouldn't do whatever she wants. She needs to do what the customer wants.
