I had my brows done today by Tulin. I called in advance to see if there was an opening and luckily I was able to be seen within the hour. The location is very convenient for me because it is within walking distance although I chose to drive because it's 1000 degrees outside. I located the building with the blue canopy awnings and made my way to the 3rd floor. The place was very clean and I felt at ease from the moment I walked in. My brows were outgrown and she cleaned them up without removing too much which I appreciated. She has a good hand because it usually hurts for me but I didn't feel much. It took only a few minutes and my brows were back to framing my face the way they needed to be. I personally can't stand it when my brows are unruly because it messes my look up but now that I have Tulin near me, I know I'm in good hands. She's a keeper. read more

Quarantine had men all over town growing out their hair. Me? Well, I grew out my eyebrows. Long story short, I've been getting my eyebrows waxed for nearly 20(!) years. I recently noticed they weren't getting the TLC they deserve from other eyebrow places and I was no longer in love with the shape. I knew I wanted to find the right person to help me groom them once businesses started opening up again and Tulin was that right person. It was easy to make an appointment online and she followed up with detailed instructions via text as we approached my appointment. Her office is in a no frills office building off of Ponce de Leon in downtown Coral Gables. I found metered street parking easily and made my way to her office. As far as safety measures, she's got it going on! From covers for my shoes, to facemasks, and plenty of hand sanitizer, I felt very safe. She also wore a shield and was clearly very cognizant of keeping it sanitary. She threaded both my eyebrows and lip, letting me know that she wasn't going to be able to make my eyebrows perfect this one time, but it was a start. I've had the same eyebrow lady for 6 years or so. So you can say I was a little more than wary trusting someone else to do my eyebrows, but I didn't have time to visit the usual place and Eyebrows was recommended by a friend. It also helped that it's situated just a three minute walk from my job. The building itself is not hard to find, there's street parking as well as a small lot. Going into the location, you're a bit thrown off. The decor, is nonexistent, first thing you see is a tiny waiting room and a mini fridge rumbling about. Nervously, I called out to find the lady I was looking for. It was raining that afternoon so she was running a bit behind, I waited a couple minutes as she finished up. Immediately, upon sitting on the bed she examined my eyebrows. Pointed out how they were - gasp - uneven. How did I not notice this? One was longer than the other, and I had some little bald spots due to the many years of waxing. She recommended I use sesame seed oil and brush my eyebrows nightly to promote growth, as well as continuing to thread moving forward. She did a FANTASTIC job. I don't think my eyebrows ever looked this good. She walked me through the process and what I should expect. Told me how to hold my eyes to help the pain diminish (which if you're nervous, it doesn't hurt, just pinches a little, you get used to it quickly). She put makeup in the spots necessary to help them look even as we wait for them to grow and passed me the mirror. Instantly was in love with my new brows. It's safe to say, I think I found a new eyebrow lady. Would definitely recommend her to everyone. I come from a city where there are cheap eyebrow threading salons on nearly every block (NYC). I'm used to paying only $9 for (usually mediocre but acceptable) eyebrow threading so you can imagine the sticker shock when I came down to Miami. (What?? $30 for eyebrows?!) I have been led astray one too many times by Yelp reviews of Miami businesses, so I was really cautious with who I would entrust my brows to. (Y'all know what I'm talking about; 100+ 4.5+star reviews and the food is terrible!?). I can eat a better meal to forget about a terrible meal, but I have to wait a month for my eyebrows to grow out after a botched threading experience! So after reading almost every Yelp review for every threading place within a 30 minute radius of me, I decided on going to Tulin. GULP! With new threading salons...it is always a gamble. You all know what I'm talking about. If you don't want to wait any further: she is great! I love how she threaded my eyebrows. Nothing too drastic; it is clean and well done. She took about 10-15 minutes. Started by snipping my eyebrows (with scissors which I believe was dipped in a barbicide solution), threaded, and then tweezed any outliers. In the end, she asked me to sit up so she could double check her results. I really appreciated her thoroughness and the care with which she did her work. Her space is very clean and she makes pleasant conversation throughout the appointment. The building is not hard to find and not as shabby as others make it out to be. I will miss her once I go back to NYC and despite being used to paying less than 1/3 of the price in NYC, you do get what you pay for! read more
