Not to be dramatic, but my life changed once I found Maria Paula and Oh My Brows. Hahaha I have long lashes but they are SOOOO straight, if you looked right at me you couldn't even tell I had any, besides the fact that I have super hooded eyelids as well. I was searching for a local spot to do a lash lift (no tint since they're already dark) and stumbled upon this spot. Maria Paula was amazing and my lashes have NEVER looked better. Even my husband noticed the difference and compliments them, and that says a lot for a guy who barely pays attention to anything. I just went back for my second time. Maria Paula is the best at what she does. Right from the start she is patient and gives you her recommendation. Even the other client that was there was commenting how she'd not had anyone explain things the way Maria Paula did. What I like is she specializes in all things brows and just brows. It's not your typical nail salon that does brows or hair salon that add on services. Those places never have a specialist. The brow bar was clean, modern, and had cool decor. It didn't have that salon smell either, which I liked. She helped me clean up the start of my unibrow and has great prices compared to other places around. I have to start off by saying that Maria Paula has hands of gold when it comes to doing your eyebrows. I stalked her IG page for a couple of months before I finally had the courage to book an appointment with her! She is the sweetest person ever and makes you feel incredibly comfortable by answering any and all questions you may have. My biggest concern was the pigment of my eyebrows. I have very fair skin and I wanted it to match my natural hair color (dirty blonde). I have to say that she absolutely nailed the color of my eyebrows. It looks amazing!! Where do I even begin??? Maria is AWESOME! I went for the henna brows and lash lift/tint combo last week, and the experience was absolutely stellar. I made an appointment online, which was convenient, and I was actually seen on time... in Miami! Her salon is conveniently located not too far from the Mile, and it is beautifully outfitted with minimalist chic decor. The music selection was great, too! The table where you lay to be serviced is beyond comfortable -- she even has a pillow where you can elevate your legs that I am determined to buy for my own house because I literally felt like I was floating the entire time. I even dozed off a few times during the service, which is not normal for me at all. When I eventually woke up and saw my brows and lashes, I learned then why she is so highly regarded. I was a bit nervous to get my brows done because I was afraid I was going to look like Groucho Marx since I have dark hair, but they looked phenomenal. I was so surprised at how great they and my lashes looked! Doing my brows and washing off mascara at the end of a long night are the biggest annoyances of my makeup routine, which means I don't wear makeup very often. I am so happy to say that Maria has made it possible for me to look put together everyday with very minimal effort. I will definitely be back and am seriously considering getting ombre brows in the future (I really appreciated that she didn't try to upsell me on that service, by the way -- I hate feeling pressured into things when I'm not ready). If I could give zero stars I would!! The worst customer service you will encounter by these "professionals". I made an appointment 3 weeks in advance and unfortunately I was not able to make it due to Covid. I canceled the day of and I was never informed I would be charged as if I had received the service!! They claim it's a cancellation fee; mmmm cancellation fees are never supposed to be the amount of the actual service. Thieves! When I called and explained I have Covid she simply said: it's the policy. I will be submitting a complaint with the BBB. I have my covid positive results with me, so excuse me if I didn't call you while I was lying in bed sick to cancel my appointment. Amazing what some businesses will do to make a few bucks. It sickens me and I will escalate this further and further. The owner should be ashamed to have these "policies" in place without even attempting to help a customer. SMH!
