The WORST service ever. It took 6 weeks to get my prescription sunglasses. After 2 phone calls of inquiry with no action taken and a false promise (by Matthew) to overnight my sunglasses when they did come in - the last straw was when I had to listen to his apology once again that he forgot to overnight them. So they came in the weekend after Labor Day. I've decided I will not be back to Eyeglass Charlie's. I was looking forward to wearing my new glasses at many Summer events. But that never happened. I not only like her collection of eyewear for anyone's taste but her care in explaining to you the frames to go with you facial structure, how the frames sit on the bridge of your nose, and do you really need your prescription for reading? After having no luck finding glasses I liked at several other places, I stopped in on a whim. I got great, attentive service from Michael, and ended up with a lovely pair of glasses. They had a more interesting selection than many other places. I later decided to get those glasses made into sunglasses, and went back to Eyeglass Charlie's. Michael took care of sending the frames out to have new lenses manufactured. Unfortunately, the lab screwed up and shipped them to the wrong location, which caused a delay that was going to prevent me from having them for a 2-week vacation. Michael went above and beyond to go retrieve the glasses and get them to me as I was headed to the airport - even though it wasn't his error. Top marks for service and attentiveness. I went to this location to see a professional, they helped me find the ones that fit my face. The process was great and there customer service skills were 10 out of 10. Be aware there are two locations. i went to the one next to the trader joes on marconi and watt. It is an awesome place, glasses to suit All ages and styles.not like run of the mill optometrist. The best variety of frames ever, not just for twenty year olds. they take insurance and do the paperwork for you too. great service. the store is not just about glasses, they have unique purses, Jewelry&accessories. the selection of glasses and sunglasses here is beautiful! I walked in and was immediately helped. The ladies were very helpful and polite. I get my glasses in 2 weeks so I will do an update. but i had to say that the selection they have is far better than anywhere else I've gone. If you like cute glasses with bling and or pretty embellishments this is the place to come. I can't wait for my glasses to get here!! P.S Got my glasses but had to have them redone as the new lenses were hurting my eyes. they are not in the VSP network so i had to pay a huge amount out of pocket. Why pay boutique prices for discount store customer service? There are plenty of places that will charge less (even if they charge the same) and give you better service. Including myself, I know of two other people who have had similar experiences with this business. I don't personally know Patricia T (yelped), but her review sheds light on a similar experience at this store. From glasses not being delivered on time (twice my glasses were delayed by their "lab"...and they only get shipments once a week!) to their warranty being suspect (not what I understood it to be). There are more customer centric shops to choose from in the area. Again, take your hard earned money elsewhere. read more

Sacramento is so lucky to have this shop. The proprietress is a legend in the industry. She and her associates are skilled and knowledgeable about their products. I have been buying gorgeous Italian designer frames at affordable prices here for years and the shop really stands behind it's products. Now in this new location in Pavilions it's even better with more European designers rarely available elsewhere. I can't recommend this store and it's gracious staff highly enough. read more

I have been using Eyeglass Charlies for almost 10 years (starting at their previous location). Luette, the owner, has always been fabulous to work with, as has her staff. They always spend time with you to find what you are looking for and provide great feedback. And, once your glasses arrive they ensure a good fit. My most recent experience was the most impressive. After receiving my two new pair of glasses I had regrets about both selections. Luette worked with me to ensure that I was happy and I've now found new frames that are much more to my liking. I bought a pair of sunglasses two years ago and they are still as beautiful as ever. I still get compliments very often. I went in today to shop around for eyeglasses and found they are having a sale on sunglasses now!!! The service is bar none the absolute best! The owner, Louette, will spend all day with you (if you would like) helping to find the perfect pair for your frame, coloring, personality, etc. She is incredibly passionate about her store, product, and clients. One thing that is hard to understand is the amount of amazing products available. Not just glasses and sunglasses, but purses and jewelry... all hand picked by Louette and kept affordable. I went to this store for browsing and walked away with a pair of sunglasses. The owner, Louette assisted me. Paid couple of hundred. Noticed some scratches on the way home and called her right away. Was told I had 14 days to bring them back. I went back(about 1/2 hour drive) a week later and she wasn't there. The assistant called her on the phone and I was told that she had ordered a new pair of lenses from the lab. Upon asking, I was told they will have them in approx. 2weeks, not sure. I requested a call back when they get in. I never received a call. I called back a month later and again the assistant couldn't find the lenses. I left a message for the owner. Never got a call back. Another 2 weeks passed and I called again and the again the owner was not there. This time the assistant called back and said they have the lenses. When I went to have my lenses replaced, it had been 2 months since the purchase. The owner complained right away about the time lapse and lied repeatedly over minor stuff. I minded my manners while she grew increasingly condescending. I wasn't sure what was upsetting her and kept on reminding her that I only wanted the damaged lenses to be replaced. Then she brought out a similar pair and said she had new lenses put in those instead, so I should leave my pair and take that. The color of the lenses looked completely different. When I pointed that I particularly liked the color of the ones I have, she at first refused to acknowledge the difference in color and then said that with time it will change to what I originally have. I remained polite with her while she grew insulting and kept on telling me that I was ungrateful for being offered a new pair...which I had never asked for!!! I reminded her that I had made a purchase and was given a damaged product. Then, she walked away saying my 2 options are in front of me: either keep the ones with damaged lenses or take a pair with different and seemingly cheaper lenses. I was upset and left the store shocked, with my damaged sunglasses. Long story short, please beware of the owner. She was super sweet when she had to sell the glasses and was a completely different person when asked to replace the damaged product. She wanted me to feel thankful for having been sold a damaged pair...Wow!! I felt conned and found the owner to be very dishonest, and insulting. I would not want to encounter someone like her any where!!! read more

Buyer beware! They don't need your business. If they did, they might be more courteous & helpful. Poorly made $700 glasses, that they don't stand behind. My 79 yr. old mother & I were loudly lectured, our fault, they're european, she's lived in Paris, everyone wants these glasses, we were told blah blah blah. An awful experience. I was referred to Eyeglass Charlie's a few years ago by a local judge. Comparatively speaking, they are less expensive than the past two eyeglass businesses I have patronized. Louette and Caroline have always been helpful and accommodating. Recently, I was invited to drop by on a holiday to pick up my glasses, so I wouldn't be inconvenienced between court appearances during my work week. Brought in my lenses for warranty service. Were very scratched. Although lenses were within warranty period, Eyeglass Charlies charged me for new lenses, due to their dispute with the lens vendor. Manager charged me only their cost, but owner refused to do the right thing and pay the cost of new lenses, $140. Very disappointing. read more

I had a great experience at this optical store. the staff were very knowledgeable about eyeglass lenses and proper shape for your eyes. I 've bought just as expensive "brand name frames" with poor services and more pretentious americans(ahh... and they aren't European) while I was there someone brought glasses in they didn't like and the staff was quick to accommodate. Hard to believe someone had such a bad experience. I say if you want a great frames different than what you've seen out there try the store. BIG plus they have layaway!!!! read more

I originally went in to EyeGlass Charlies over a year ago at their former location next to Trader Joes. I was very impressed with their selection of frames however by the time I was ready to shop they were no longer at that location. I ended up buying frames from a different business located closer to my home. I regret doing that because the selection and styles of frames were somewhat limited. 5 months later found me back at EyeGlass Charlies again. Michael couldn't have been nicer, in spite of the fact that it was near closing time. I didn't want to rush through the process nor did I want to keep Michael there past the closing however Michael made me feel like he had all the time in the world. We selected several styles to consider and created a file for me to refer to on my next visit a week or two later. Again, Michael was a sweetheart. He is incredibly knowledgeable, professional and a pleasure to work with. He made me feel like he was having as much fun as I was as we explored different designs. I selected two styles and Michael worked diligently to get the frames delivered to me very quickly ( within a week) in time for me to take on a weekend trip. I plan on returning soon for sunglasses for this summer. I am looking forward to another terrific experience!! Thank you Michael for going above and beyond.
