Prior to the appointment today, we have had an amazing experience with the staff that helped with finding the best frames for my son. We had an external prescription, so my son did not have to get an eye exam. Today, we decided to get an eye exam since his prescription was close to expiring. Unfortunately, the experience was not ideal and, to say the least, not a positive experience. Dr. Wallace Guerrant's bedside manner left much to be desired. From the very beginning of the appointment, it was an awkward exchange of frustrations on his part. He was frustrated because some of the equipment was not suited for a smaller child and he kept requesting my son move a certain way or sit a certain way to accommodate the equipment instead of the equipment accommodating my son. He got extremely irritated because he was asking my son to look at a mirror behind him while he was shining a light in his eyes. You must know how to be patient with children because it can be easier to get confused. He lacked the patience that would be expected of a physician working with children. As a Mom, it was clear that his frustration were impacting my son and that is a NO GO, for me. After the unpleasant experience I chose not to schedule my eye exam with him. The other staff, like Karen, made the rest of the interaction much better. We won't ever utilize the optometrist for an exam ago. read more

Dr. Guerrant and Hannah helped my wife and I. I can't say enough good things about the friendliness and professionalism of the staff here, especially the COVID-19 protocols, ensuring a safe environment for everyone. Dr. Guerrant made me feel at ease while also addressing my concerns with my vision, lol, the 40 year presbyopia...after not needing lenses since 2005 thanks to Lasik. Hannah helped us with each step in the process of picking frames and lenses. Of note, we have been taking my son here since 2016, but I now understand why my wife brings him back again and again! So long as we have Dr. Guerrant and Hannah at this location, we will continue coming back here. Both of these fine individuals should be duly recognized for their dedication, warmth and friendliness, and their utmost professionalism. They are a great credit to Eyeglass World and an example for their peers to emulate. Overall great experience! Went here with my husband because he needed new glasses. The store has a huge selection of style and color options as well as very reasonable price ranges. They have a bogo free deal (bogo 50% off using our insurance). Ended up going for regular glasses + prescription sunglasses. There were so many styles to choose from; my picky husband was happy with the glasses he chose. Jesse helped us pick out glasses and politely tolerated us picking out and trying on probably 20 different pairs. He helped choosing styles and recommended one of the pairs we ended up choosing. read more

They have a huge selection to choose from ranging from discount frames to designer frames. I love this place. I've been going here for about 6 years or so i think. Always had great experiences. I have a lot of anxiety but they've always made me feel comfortable here. My last visit was on a Saturday so it was a little more packed than usual but I got in and out pretty quick. (I got my prescription elsewhere, but come here for frames.) I even managed to get them same day even though I was expecting to pick them up later on. I didn't have insurance so I got the 2nd free on the 2 for $78 deal. Very helpful staff, explained all the extra lens options. The frames are quality too. When I first started wearing glasses I got a pair at a cheap place in Richmond and they fell apart after a year but I've never had that problem here. My dad went and didn't have a good experience, but to be fair, he's grumpy and gets annoyed easily. read more

They were a lifesaver today. My elderly mother had broken her only glasses that we had purchased from Eyeglass World. Her regular ophthalmologist was unavailable. I had concerns that she would have difficulty getting a proper exam as she has dementia/Alzheimer's plus she needed glasses ASAP. Eyeglass World was able to find an in-stock frame that fit her existing lens and switched the lens to the new pair within minutes--thereby averting a bad situation. Now she's able to have a pair of glasses until her scheduled eye exam in a couple of months. I can't say enough about their creative problem-solving and customer service. I was a patient of Vision Works for 20+ years. I am happy to say that I have fond a new Eye Glass home with Eye Glass World. I had the best vision exam and eyeglass purchase experience ever. Each member of the staff that I came into contact with was excellent and welcoming. The ladies working the insurance portion of my visit were so inviting and just made me feel so comfortable. The Optometrist treated me like a person and not an object and was very tentative to my needs and explained things thoroughly with a smile on her face the whole time. I am so thankful that Thomas and Allison from Eyeglass World came to my employers open enrollment session. They gave me great educational information on how important is it to have your eyes checked each year. Even if you have 20/20 vision the annual checkup is so important to catch issues that can't be detected without it. I had an excellent experience from the vision check and to purchasing glasses for my daughter. Everyone was so helpful and we had a great experience. I had the worst experience. They had a fine selection and the price was okay, but the quality of work they did was really bad. Including the attention to detail. I picked up one of their two pairs deals with the works, polarized lenses, night and day, scratch resistant, thinner lens style instead of the thick ones. Had to bring both back because they didn't put all of the directed lens styles. They must have the worst notation of how to set up the lens and communicate with the manufacturer. But, I was patient and returned both and told them what was wrong and they said they would fix it. Another week goes by and II get the glasses and they were wrong again. The polarization had a triple light glow in it when I looked at lights in general. I asked them to fix again and they didn't bother to to put the sunglasses daylight darkened coat on it. Finally. Worst service in town. They do.not take care of your glasses' repairs if the warranty expired. My husband paid almost $670 for a pair of glasses. I understand that the warranty expired but she should not say " put a tape on it" What?????? I found that comment unrespectful. We were just trying to fix them and pay for the service. But no options to repair them once the warranty expired. Unfortunately, they did not advise us when we first came here. What a shame " A tape on it"???? One of the worst experiences I've had with an optometrist. The doctor was rather short and abrasive with me and seemed unwilling to take the time needed to make sure my prescription was correct. As a result, I got a prescription that was too weak and have to go back this weekend to get re-examined. They were nice enough about rescheduling (which is why my rating wasn't worse) but since I'm paying $110 for a contacts exam, it would be nice if they would take the time to ensure they gave me the correct prescription the first time. In 22 years of wearing glasses or contacts, this was the first time I've EVER had to get re-examined because of receiving the wrong prescription the first time. read more

Glasses anywhere are expensive. Very good experience with the optician setting the prescription and the person fitting the lens and frames. I wasn't satisfied with the first lenses (seamless contact) so they re-did them and they were then perfect. They needed a different view to better see monitors. They have a 2 for 1 special, but I put all my investment into one pair with all the coatings. They also noticed a scratch on the special order frame and called it to my attention and ordered a new one. They aim to please and treated me well. read more

Terrible glasses shopping experience. When I went in they were not very busy however I was not greeted or asked if I needed any assistance. All the glasses that I was interested in trying on were locked onto the display. When I finally found someone and asked them to help me, they acted as though it was an imposition to stand there and help me. I tried to be incredibly polite and ask questing about whether the lenses were included etc and the responses I got were very short and hardly more evolved than grunting a response. I will NEVER return to this shop. read more

I went to Eyeglass world back around the end of October of 2020. I found a pair that I like and another pair I was on the fence about purchasing. The prices to me were too high also. I paid for half and was going to pay the rest once my glasses were ready. Within 72 hours I decided to cancel my order. I never had a good feeling about it. I called the store to have them cancel the order and put my money back on my card and I was told that I had to physically come to the store in order to cancel. This didn't even make sense to me but I went in anyway. Once back in the store, the general manager kept trying to convince me to keep my order. He never really listen and kept pushing for about 45 minutes. After cancelling my order the manager stated that he would notify my insurance company. Well on December 1, 2020 I found some glasses that I really like. I went to purchase them and I was told that my benefits were already used for the year. I remembered that I went to Eyeglass world back at the end of October. They failed to contact my insurance company about the cancellation. I called Eyeglass world and the lady stated that someone would get to it when they got a chance. I told her that was unacceptable because it should have been done two months ago. I had to call my insurance company and have them contact Eyeglass world. After all of this I have reach out to Eyeglass world and the few people I spoke with had a nonchalant attitude about it. Every worker at Eyeglass World here in Lexington, KY are always pretty friendly, experienced, and knowledgeable. I have been going there for 3 years because my friend said they have good prices, and I have found they are the cheapest I know of in town. You can't beat buy one get one free glasses and they are cheaper than other places that also do the buy1get1. They have a big selection of glasses to choose from. My eye exam process was quick, and the doctor was very kind. I got my 5 yr old a pair of glasses and sunglasses this year, and I liked taking her there this time because they had cool name brand choices and everyone was patient with her. I pay extra for glasses to have polycarbonate lenses with anti-glare and polycarbonate polarized sunglasses, but it's worth every penny. read more

I read the reviews before going to Eyeglass World. I wanted to give them the benefit of doubt, but the reviews are right on with what I experienced. Jessie spent a lot of time with me as I was hard to fit. The glasses were too heavy for my face and caused my nose to get sore from the nose pads and weight of the glasses. I returned them for a full refund. The manager, Thomas was tired and disheveled in appearance. He attempted to look for another pair of glasses but I told him the other clerks spent lots of time looking. I wanted a refund. He was rude and appeared agitated with my request for refund. The glasses are cheap and will not last. If $78 for 2 pair is in your price range, then go and see if you get the same experience. Ask for Jesse! He is great ! read more

Absolutely rude customer service. The optometrist was sarcastic, condescending and crossing the line from passive aggressive to just aggressive, over very basic questions I was asking. I was polite and friendly, even after the rudeness and their lack of clarity over just about everything. I left the exam to find my glasses, and the unattractive choices then made it pretty easy to pay for my exam, get my script and head over to pearl vision. Pearl vision answered all my questions with great clarity and respect, had beautiful affordable choices of eyeglasses. So glad I went to pearl. Don't waste your time or money at eyeglass world, especially if you like to be treated like a decent human being. read more

The store overcharged me. I had $300 in insurance benefits and brought my own frames. I've shopped at this same location for 8 years always getting the same kind of glasses. Progressive lenses and the special lightweight glass and non reflective. Including the 2 pair for $79.00. It always cost more for the things I wanted but always stayed within my insurance premium. This time getting just one pair using my own frame from a previous visit they wanted $350. Without the special glass getting the plastic instead brought the price back to my benefit price. But now it would take 10 days. When they showed up I picked them up and in the store they seemed fine. But driving home I couldn't read the street signs or see close up. They even started to give me a headache. I recieved a customer satisfaction call and I told them how I felt I was overcharged and couldn't see out of the glasses. They apologised and said somone would call me back to straighten things out. This was 5 days ago. I'm very disappointed in a company I've trusted for 8 years could do this. Staff was very helpful when selecting my frames, when I returned the next day to pickup my glasses, service was lacking; it was more like self-service, the lady handed me my glasses and proceeded to assist another customer that had a return. I checked out my glasses which hadn't been clean (greasy smudges & fingerprints all over both pair)! I guess service can be good at times, just depends on what day it is!! read more

Dr Guerrant was very good. Julia, the so called optician, straight up lied to me about my out of network insurance coverage. I didn't find the truth until it came time to pay so I left with only my prescription. My advice is call your insurance company personally and don't rely on this dishonest "optician" read more

Horrible experience, asked for two pair of eyeglasses plus have new lenses put in my sunglasses. They are supposed to be eyeglasses in about an hour, nope, two weeks. but I do give them credit, they gave me some loaner lenses in the meantime. I go up there tonight expecting to pick up my new glasses, my sunglasses and have lenses waiting for the eyeglasses I'm wearing (new frames wit the loaner lenses) but am told I only ordered 1 pair and the sunglass lenses. I repeated my request 6 times when ordering and my wife confirmed I was very clear so for all of this aggravation, I paid $674, a price I normally get 3 pair of new glasses for. This place is full of deceptive practices. and is a complete rip off. This place will never get another dime from me. read more
