Our schnauzer chewed my glasses into piece. I brought them to Eye Glasses World hopeful but doubtful they could be repaired. I showed them to the very nice young lady at the repair counter. she said give me a few minutes and I'll see what I can do. She returned with my glasses looking as good as they had before our puppy chewed them into pieces! Then she said she wanted to re-fit them to my face. To my amazement when she finished adjusting them, I asked her how much I owed her and she said no charge today. I simply can't get over the whole experience! Came in at 9:30 to get my dad glasses. The general manager left one employee to oversee the phone. We waited 30 minutes while the employee took 6 in-depth phone calls. She was as polite as she could be, but explained she had to answer the phone. The GM came back with cups for the coffee. She never checked on us or her employee, who was still on the phone. The GM then sat down to interview a potential employee. We were sitting right next to them. The GM was shocked when the employee explained we were unhappy and would be lodging a complaint. The GM stated she "didn't know" the phone was ringing. The phone rang through the whole store. The employee did the best she could given her lack of support from the GM, but I would suggest skipping Eyeglass World until they get a competent manager who chooses customers over coffee. read more

My first time with Eyeglass World and I was and am totally satisfied with them. The last few years I have used two of their competitors and Eyeglass World has them both beat hands down. The glasses were made seemingly perfect per the exam recommendations and the staff and service offered was awesome. My last glasses bought down the street never fit me even after going back for adjustments. The young lady at Eyeglass World actually worked with me on getting the fit just right and after a couple weeks I went back with a little soreness and irritation, she changed the nose pieces and readjusted the ear piece. Sadly,when I put my new glasses/frame on (had gone to a private opthamologist to get my prescription checked, brought to Eyeglass World),noticed that I was seeing double at a distance, which my old glasses did not do,also made at Eyeglass World. Was told that it takes "a while to get used to prisms" on my lens, which prism I've had on the old glasses prescribed by the same private opthamologist for the past 5 years. Didn't make sense. Beware!!! They are mask nazis. I went in wearing a face shield. Which is an acceptable form of face covering. They informed me that I had to wear a mask no matter what. When I tried to explain that I have a disability and can only wear a shield, they told me to get out of their store. I have had trouble before with them not being able to make my glasses right, but this is the end. I am never going in that place again. Stay away from there. read more

PLEASE READ THE EDIT AT THE BOTTOM AS MY EXPERIENCE CHANGED GREATLY. I was very happy with our experience. It was crowded and there was a bit of a wait, but it was probably because they were giving everyone such great, personalized attention. My seven-year old daughter found two pairs of frames that she loves. And the helpful, kind staff had her feeling like a beautiful princess by the time we left. I will definitely return. EDITED 12/09/13: We went to have my daughter's eyes rechecked a month after she got her glasses and she SAW WORSE with her glasses because they were made wrong. The "axis" was supposed to be 103 and it was 10. I took them back to be remade (which they did no questions asked). But, they told me that if I had them checked at the doctor's office, they would read 10 again because they don't have the equipment to make an axis of 100 so they have to reduce all of the measurements... blah, blah, blah... it made NO sense to me so I finally asked, "Will she be able to SEE out of these?!" They said she should be able to and they're not sure why she couldn't see out of the previous lenses. Regardless, I have NO confidence in the glasses my daughter has on her eyes now and am extremely disappointed. It seems that they should tell you up-front they won't be making your glasses with the prescription you are bringing. (Also, the WAIT for a representative was STILL excruciatingly long!) read more

I scheduled an appointment with the optometrist for 11:30. I showed up on time. I waited for 25 minutes, asked how much longer it would be after I had heard another lady that was there before me and still waiting ask about the delay, and they told me it would be at least another 20 minutes, that there were still a couple people ahead of me. I could not wait that much longer because I had other commitments I had to take care of. I asked if I could take care of those and come back in about 30 minutes which probably would have been close to when I would have been seen anyway. The receptionist said possibly, but gave me a card to call ahead of time because the optometrist goes to lunch at 1:00. I called and would have been back about 12:30-12:35, but she said they wouldn't see me because there were 2 remaining appointments and then the optometrist would be going to lunch. (The optometrist goes to lunch at 1:00 she said). I relayed if I would have waited there and not taken care of my other commitments, she would have had to see me and the other 2 remaining appointments anyways before lunch, but she remained firm that the doctor had to go to lunch and they would not see me before lunch. TLDR: My appointment was 45min-1hr behind schedule, had to leave and take care of another commitment, they wouldn't let me swap and come back 30 min later because the doctor had to go to lunch, even though had I remained, they would have had to see me and all their remaining appointments anyway before lunch. Sara Smith is training her staff to be confident in their expertise. Sara knows when to step in to for support from a particular client like myself and her staff feels confident to ask for guidance. Sara Smith is a great team leader and the staff reflects her values of offering everyone outstanding customer service. My glasses broke that I had bought from another place and they couldn't get my lenses processed before my exam unless I got their more expensive glasses ($150+). Supposedly their cheaper selection had a 5-10 day turn around because they don't keep the less expensive lenses in store. I am a student with a family, and didn't us to have to live off ramen for the rest of the month, so I went to Eyeglass World and told them my problem. Britney was excellent. i went in wanting to take advantage of the discount glasses since I purchased contacts before. I had a pair in mind and went into Eyeglass world to ask about them. Tiffany greeted me and helped me with the process. Tiffany searched for the particular pair I was thinking about, but turns out there were discontinue. She could tell I was disappointed, but offered to call another location that showed they had them in stock. Tiffany called the other location but turns out they were too busy to confirm if they had the particular glasses I wanted, and would have to call back. At that time Jaden over heard what was going on and asked about the pair I wanted. Turns out there was a customer would returned the pair I wanted, and Jaden knew he could help me. He came back with the pair I wanted and I had the biggest smile under my make. Tiffany and Jaden went above and beyond trying to locate my glasses, and I applaud them for their effort and customer service. I used the Lubbock opthalmology associates for my prescription. i was told that i would recieve a free pair of trial contacts and that i should try them first prior to ordering my year supply of contacts. i was told that i would recieve a call just a few days. i never recieved a call regarding my trial pair. I left 2 messages with the receptionist yolanda. she took my name, spelling of my name, and phone #. I never recieved a phone call back. on the 3rd attempt 1 month later. i called again to ask if my trial pair had come it. it had not been ordered. the opthalmologist Dr. Ray got on the phone with me and said that it was documented that i left with a pair of contacts and that there is no order placed for the trial. He told me i could come by to pick up a pair in a different brand than mine. I presented to the clinic and got my off brand trial pair to find out that the prescription was incorrect. I notified the receptionist Yolonda and she said "Oh yeah, we didn't have that so it was the best that we could do. sorry" So now my vision is blurry for the next couple of weeks until my prescription comes in. read more
