I only chose this place cause it was the closest optical store that took my insurance. 2 out of 3 visits ( to pick up two pair of glasses, ready at different times) there was No Optican available to help see if the fit/progressives were comfortable. The very young Inexperienced optican who begrudgingly helped me, after telling me he wasn't On Duty, took the glasses & did something to the earpiece on a HOT machine, didn't tell me it was hot, told me to try them on, and I burned my upper ear. Went here a few years ago. The advertised deals (2 for) are not what they seem. Somehow I didn't "qualify" for that. The salesperson seemed to "forget" to inform me after I paid that I was "out of network" with them even after they initially checked my insurance coverage. The eye exam was important for me because I needed the whole eye health screening not just a vision check. The Palm Beach Gardens store off Northlake Blvd is by far the BEST Eyeglass World location! Stopped by to check out their selection of glasses and everyone was so friendly and helpful, especially Gerren and Courtney! They were super busy but still managed to be incredibly courteous and knowledgeable and answered every single one of my 10000 questions lol I wasn't planning on buying anything when I initially went in but ended up getting 2 pairs of glasses because of how well I was treated and how patient everyone was with me. It's clear this location is being managed by the right people and there seems to be a real sense of comradery among the staff. I have been a patient/client of Dr. Lorelei for many years. That alone should tell you how satisfied I am with this office. I've had only positive interactions with the staff, but especially with Rob Mango who has been there for as far back as I can remember. He has always been professional, knowledgeable and friendly, a big asset to their business. There are numerous choices of fashionable frames with a wide variety of prices. There is never a long wait to receive your glasses, sometimes the same day! There was a time I wore contact lenses and I was pleased with them also. Dr. Lorelli is THE BEST. I came in very distraught because I woke up and suddenly had all these black specks in my eye. I called several eye doctors and they wanted me to see a retina specialist which would have costed me a ton of money since I have no vision insurance. I just happened to walk into Eyeglass World on Northlake and the doctors reception area in the back, the guy was great. He got me right in to see Dr Lorelli. I started crying as I was telling the doctor about the black specks in my eyes. He calmed me down, did my eye exam and was very friendly and accommodating as I have a joint disease as well so moving around is very difficult. I explained to him that all these eye doctors wanted me to see a retina specialist and he said that was completely unnecessary because he would do the same exact test in charge much less. I told him that this was a godsend as I recently was laid off. When I came time for me to check out, he said that he would send me a bill instead of making me pay at that moment. It turns out that it was eye floaters. They go away eventually on their own and at this point a few months later, they are completely gone. I need new glasses desperately and an eye exam but sadly, I will have to go elsewhere because they no longer do the free exam with the purchase of two pairs of glasses. Super deceptive business practices. I tried to use my insurance here, they said it's in network and my insurance confirmed. My insurance should have covered the whole exam, but eyeglass world was trying to charge $100+ for it saying insurance LIES and this is what I have to pay. I call my insurance, they tell me that's wrong and when I go back for clarification to eyeglass world, they then say it's because the doctor is independent and is not covered by this insurance. Beware! I visited Eyeglass World on Northlake Blvd about two weeks ago for an updated eye exam. I knew going in that I may not purchase my glasses there unless I saw something that I liked. I did not find a pair that suited my face. I've ordered my glasses online before which is actually a fun and easy process (upload a picture and you can even try them on). So when I decided that I did not want to make a purchase, they sat me back down at a table where a the "optician" falsified my pupillary distance so that when I used the script to purchase glasses elsewhere, my glasses wouldn't fit properly! I'm very upset with this doctor and business. I feel like he had no time to do a real eye exam with me. Never made sure I was sitting correctly and had my eyes in their machine and was just not present. I feel like my prescription is Wrong. And I'm disappointed in the service I received which can affect me and my sight for the next year.. since he is saying all of a sudden my eyes have different prescriptions. I wish I loved this place but I absolutely do not. Other than the eye asst- the doctor rushes and does not care at all, the whole store had every pair of glasses of the shelf and took FOREVER to actually see you and help you. Went to get updated prescriptions for the kids for back to school. Had such a great experience!! The staff was very helpful, and kind. I didn't catch the name of the nice young lady that prepped us but she was super sweet. The optometrist was very fast and communicated with us, and then we had Mr. Bryan Young helped with purchasing the glasses. I had a very unpleasant experience at Eyeglass World. The visit started off with the optometrist tech telling me the visit would be $35. I told her my co-pay was $10 and she responded by saying the retinal scan would be an additional $25. Really? Not giving the customer a choice for an elective procedure is so dishonest. Next the Optometrist said that I would need the drops. I asked if he could try looking at my retinas without the drops and he replied it's the drops or the scan. Being a physician myself I know that that is false as the retinas can be visualized without drops in most but not all patients. I felt like I was being punished for refusing to pay for the scan. Finally, the salesman told me I needed the premium progressive lens and not the basic progressive lens. I told him it's just for reading so I want the basic. When I got home I realized he charged me for the mid priced progressive lens and not the basic. My conclusion is that this is a disreputable business looking to do whatever they have to do in order to get your money. If one employee is sneaky maybe it's just the employee, but when everyone is acting unethically, it's the company. Shame on you Eyeglass World. read more

Instead of fixing the problem Moja, a manager told her the glasses were only for reading and if she were to "Go back to her country they'll tell you the same thing!" TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS DEMONSTRATED from Dr. Lorelli and his assistant Tara at the Northlake office!!! NOT A PROFESSIONAL OFFICE SETTING. I have never felt so uncomfortable going to a facility in my life. STAY AWAY unless you like to be disrespected and spoken to in a sarcastic manner. Tara has the worse attitude, demonstrates very poor customer service and lacks communication skills. As a first time patient, Tara did NOT take the time to explain the eye exam procedure as I was just placed in a chair and not enlightened on what to expect (bright light flashing and air blowing into my eyes unexpectedly). She NEEDS training! I'm a first time patient and Dr. Lorelli never introduced himself as the doctor or even addressed me by name. Evidently, Dr. Lorelli doesn't have the best bed side manners. Also, when you ask a question about what is required to pay, Tara replies in a very rude and disrespectful tone. She doesn't take the time to listen what you're asking. Not to mention, Dr. Lorelli allows her to run the office any way she likes instead of hearing out the customer first. Remember, the customer is always right! I must say, customer service skills starts with leadership because if the head doesn't operate properly, then the body will never work accurately. The bottom line is the whole office needs a total make over with learning how to treat people like human beings and stop being sarcastic when asking for clarification. GET CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS TRAINING, OTHERWISE THE PRACTICE WILL NOT SUSTAIN. Dr. Lorelli and Tara cancelled my service because I had a concerned about my bill. I was quoted a much lower price over the phone prior to my visit. When I questioned the price difference, they got upset instead of taking the time to explain in great detail, they told me to just take my business elsewhere! Really? AND I DID, GLADLY!!!! Overall, the communication skills was very poor with Tara and Dr. Lorelli. I wouldn't refer my worst enemy to this office. OK, I don't live in Palm Beach Gardens, or even in Florida, but I was in the area on vacation in October. Stupidly, I left my eyeglasses at one of the many McDonalds along I95, and was stuck wearing my prescription sunglasses. I did a search for "quick" eyeglass stores, and came up with Eyeglass World. From the appearance and organization of the store, to the fast and courteous service, I was impressed. I happened upon a buy-one, get one free sale, and picked from some inexpensive frames, which were very nice. Oh, staff assisted me in getting my prescription sent electronically from Virginia, so it was already on my tablet when I arrived. They claimed the glasses would be ready in 2 hours, but I went back the next day. Again, just great service, treating me like a prized customer, and the glasses fit the first time. I wish I could give this place no stars. This is the RUDEST staff I have ever encountered. Dr. Anthony has no respect for his patients. He does not care about what you want or accommodating your needs. All they care about is getting money from you. I asked for a simple eye exam. I refused to pay for an additional contact exam (because I have worn the same contacts for 15+ years and know my prescription). Because I said no to a contact exam, I was told "I don't care what you want" with extreme attitude by a "professional" and shown the door. I am on vacation in Port St. Lucie, FL and recently tried paddle boarding on the Port St. Lucie River. Because I was wearing my sunglasses in the pool I thought nothing of wearing while trying paddle boarding. I'm an idiot. My balance is atrocious & I found myself falling over to one side. While my first thought was to cover my face in case my sunglasses came off I did not because...I'm an idiot. I knew this was going to be a major problem driving back to Texas and immediately started looking for eye-care centers nearby. I called Eyeglass World because they listed on their website that they accept walk-ins. I spoke to Ariel who was very pleasant when I explained my situation to her and said she could get me in in an hour. I wasn't expecting that. Because of traffic I showed up almost 20 minutes late but they still got me in. The eye exam was quick & painless. The best part is that my insurance covered the exam. And I didn't have my card with me. Ariel found me in their system. After the exam Dr. Lorelli came in and took care of the rest of the exam concerning the lenses. A very nice man who was efficient and personable. I found some common ground with him when I found out that he studied in my neck of the woods back east. Extremely pleasant. Next came Nancy. Nancy has the patience of a saint & knew my story before I arrived. She had told me that my glasses "could" be ready by the 8th but she couldn't guarantee it. That was a slight problem for me since my family & we're driving back to Texas on the 8th. Knowing that I was up a creek, because I'm an idiot, Nancy went into the back & begged one of the technicians to please get my sunglasses ready by the next day. I was stunned. I, a visitor from Texas, an idiot, loses his sunglasses in a river and Nancy comes to the rescue with next day service. My regular eyeglasses will be shipped to me by them & I can take those glasses to the Eyeglass World in Amarillo, TX to have them adjusted if necessary. To say I am grateful is an understatement. I thought, if nothing else, they could just hand me the prescription then I could take that to Amarillo & let those folks do the rest. Nancy wouldn't hear of it. These wonderful folks went above & beyond anything I could have asked for and didn't even flinch. Thank you Dr. Lorelli, Ariel & Nancy for all your help. You are truly wonderful! read more

So Yelpers, in case you didn't know, I wear glasses! Also, I'm not good at not losing my glasses. After losing my last set of ojos, I make an appointment at Eyglass World. Making the appointment was quick and painless as they also take walk ins. I walked in this morning and was immediately greeted and taken to the back where the eye exams are done. A quick eye exam later- they have an option for no dilation (oh yeah!) I'm back at the front of the store. This is where I meet Juan. Juan my glasses wearing friends, is your NEW BEST FRIEND. He was so awesome from start to finish. He helped me pick out frames, was super honest about how they looked on my face and what vibe I was giving off. Just a couple of things I heard today- these make you look serious, these professional, these.. Down? Ha! He's a riot but he's exactly what you need when you're picking out something that'll be on your face for a long time each day. He helped me find glasses that were in my budget but still fit my personality. A couple of hours later the glasses were ready and I couldn't be happier. This place gets a lot of traffic in the morning and afternoon, yet I never felt like there was anyone else in the store but me. The entire staff is awesome. This review is for the store in Palm Springs. I have been there twice and they are great. No issues with my glasses, and they get them ready pretty quick. Transition lenses take a little bit longer to be ready. I can't say about contacts because I don't use them. We were on vacation in Palm Beach, Fl and our son, who is extremely nearsighted, lost his glasses in the ocean and was very upset because he was not able to see anything without the glasses. I contacted the optical provider in Florida the same as we used in our state, however they informed us that it will take at least a week because they don't have a lab on site and recommended Eyeglass World. I reached out the location (3180 Northlake Blvd) in West Palm Beach and we were very impressed with frames selection, affordability and the friendly staff. In less then 24 hours my son's 2 pairs of glasses were ready, despite that we were promised only one pair next day and a second pair by the end of the week. My son is very pleased with his new glasses, and we visited their location in our state to order my spouse new glasses. He literally had me in and out here in a matter of half an hour! Eye exam done, contacts in, prescription in hand, balance paid! Nicest optometrist I've met, never rushed me, took his time. Unlike those at LenCrafters at the Gardens Mall outside Nordstrom who charge ridiculously just for the exam where they rush you out and feel unwelcomed. I didn't give full stars because the girl at the front desk wasn't exactly welcoming. She almost seemed highly annoyed when I ask if I was pretty much done after I paid. read more

Saturday, March 15th was the last day to have anything medically done to you, for which you could submit your receipt to your Flexible Spending Account's administrator. Of course, I came to realize this on Friday night, March 14th. A few moments earlier, I had another moment of clarity -- in the prior year, my family and I had been particularly healthy, and not used ANY of the $500 in my FSA that I had deducted from my paycheck in $19.23 increments every two weeks. If I didn't have a receipt dated 3/15 or before, to submit before 3/31, my $500 would disappear. It had been about 2 years since I had last put new lenses in my 6 year old frames, so I was due for an eyewear makeover, anyway. And outside of purposely eating some bad shellfish so I could spend my Saturday in the emergency room, new glasses was about the only way I was going to "use or lose" the money in my account, if I could get an appointment with the optometrist. I drive by the Eyeglass World location on Northlake Boulevard twice daily -- knowing that the guy I've been using for the last 10 years is not open on weekends -- so I checked their web-site for hours and a quick look around for styles and any specials. The next day, I arrived a few minutes after they opened, and was actually there before the optometrist did, but his appointment setter said he would be available once he arrived. I filled out the requisite paperwork, and just started checking out some frames with the salesman Rob, when Dr. Lorelli showed up. A few letters, a few drops, a few puffs of air, the usual "this one, or this one?", and I had my prescription. They took my insurance, too, so my co-pay was only $10 for the exam. While I finished up with the Doctor, Rob had taken the liberty of pulling every frame that would fit my enormous melon of a head -- he, too, is plagued by this cranial elephantism -- which is to say, he pulled about 12 frames for me to try on. My favorite was a Ray-Ban tortoise shell Wayfarer-style, priced at $199 for just the frames, and I knew from experience that the complexity of my prescription would add about another $200 to that price, and preclude me from getting them made up for me on that same day. The promo they had signage for all over the showroom -- and their web-site -- called out "two pairs for $78". Again, experience has taught me that this promo wasn't something I'd be able to participate in, because of the frame styles my "fivehead" requires, as well as the thickness of my prescription. But Rob informed me that for "everyone else", they offer a "buy one, get one free" promo, and if I didn't want to get the same lenses in a second pair of frames, I could also have the lenses tinted and polarized, and put into a pair of sunglasses to use when I drive or play outdoors. I haven't had a pair of prescription sunglasses for nearly 20 years, because all of the lenses I've gotten for those 20 years were "Transitions", the ones that get darker automatically in the sunlight. The downside to Transitions lenses is that the UV light that activates the tint doesn't get through the glass in your car's windows, so when you drive on a bright day, or into the sunset, you are squinting for the whole ride. Why not, I figure -- I mean, the money was spent anyway, right? I might as well get something for it, instead of just throwing it away. I found dark pair of Ray-Ban wrap-arounds that fit perfectly, whose frames were priced below the tortoise shells I had already chosen. We did the invoicing for my regular vision insurance plan, and with the out-of-pocket covered by my FSA account, the two pairs wouldn't cost me anything (that it didn't already cost me, mind you -- remember, I already paid in $500). The whole process from entrance to exit took about an hour, and on the following Friday, Rob called me to let me know that both pairs were in, and I could come by to pick them up whenever, which ended up being later that evening. After a few adjustments to tighten the temples, I was out the door, and the next day, I got my FSA reimbursement check in the mail. Was really an easy process, and a situation that really could have had me kicking myself over lost money, turned out quite good. And stylish, I might add. read more

I ordered two pair of glasses for my son last week on Monday. 1 pair was available for pick up on the same day and they told me they would call me when the second pair came in later in the week. Today is Tuesday and still no call so I went back into the store. When I walked in a gentleman with a white coat on was sitting at the back right of the store. He just stared at me. No greeting at all. I said hello and he just looked back down at whatever he was doing. Then I heard a woman say, "What can we do for you?" at the back counter because apparently waling to the front of the store to greet me was too much work. I inquired about the glasses I ordered last week and they were there. No one called me to let me know they were in so who knows how long they were there. Pretty lousy customer service for a $200 bill. I'd rather pay even more money for better service than come back to this place. read more

Had an appointment at 1 pm on a Monday for contact lenses. Dr Anthony took really good care of me and gave me very good recommendations on which way to go with contacts. I was out of there at 1:30pm! They told me that they had to order my contact lenses and that they would arrive around May 3rd. Did not bother me at all since they gave me a trial pair to wear. Two days after my appointment they called me to let me know that my contact lenses had arrived!! He ask if anything change I say yes we finish the exam We pick out contacts I leave then I call a week later to pick up my lens I have my lens in for about two days there moving every time I blank or either there coming out constantly and I can't see out of them especially at night so I call and speak with the general manger which is Lakresha she got me right back in the doctor check my eyes and then inform me that the fit is off so I ask should we try another brand he said yes we order another brand that I had use back in 2013 the next week came I pick up my lens and the same issue all over again I reach out to the GM again she got me back in and that's when I found out the doctor wrote me the same exact script that he wrote in 2015 I explain to him I no longer can see out of that script why would you write the same script doctor Antony then re exam my eyes coming up with a whole different script and told me it's because now I have a Stigmatism that's been there and now it's an issue I said no problem lets just get the problem fix so I wait another week contacts come in and there still not fitting the right eye is worst then the left I reach out to the Gm again however the doc was out the office and there is a doc who was filling in for him so I went into the office met with the other doc which I must say she knows her stuff she is very patience and sweet lady she took her time with me she explain that the fit is wrong so we decide to only order in the right eye to make sure the fit work because there is no trail pair for my lens I agree and the lens came in this week so of course I return to to the doctor office when I return Doc Antony was working I waited about 20 min for him then we go into the exam room and the door is wide open and he ask me so what's going on I explain to him that I had came in when he was off looking for him but another doc had seen me and order a different fit for me because the ones he ordered for me still didn't fit at that moment his whole body language and face change he then sat in his chair perform an exam with a light looking into my eyes the door was still open he sat back and said those lens still don't fit so I explain to him I have the new right lens In the other doc oder for me and the left eye that you oder me a week ago so being there not fitting what so we so now he sat back in his chair and said nothing he left out the exam room and went to the counter with the other young ladies and start saying " I don't know why the other doc order her another contact this is costing the company money" the door still open to the exam room he returns back to the exam room and says we can't do nothing . So I say to the Doc. I have been understanding with you trying to get this right for me and this is a lot of money that has been put forth for this so what can we do DOC. Antony roll over to the door shut it close pull his chair as close as he could to the exam chair and lean forward towards my face and began to point towards me and yell in aggressive manner towards me I told doc Antony to back up open the door let me out because he can't close the door and change his manner of speaking and behavior as Im leaving out of the room he stand against the door and says I can and I did we're done .... Done I walk out the exam room very upset the manger was not in nor the asst. manger so I spoke with a gentleman after explaining everything to him he call over a guy who was acting as manger he then said he spoke with the manger all ready and we are gonna issue you a refund let me apologize but can you explain what happen I did explain and that I was gonna file a police report he then said I think that's a bit much but the doctor is just a little frustrated today I said to him it's no excuse and if this situation was flip and I did what he did to me he would file a report saying I try to attack him . I file a police report and then call corporate they explain to me that they will be in contact with the store manger and the district I was then call back and ask for the report number and told that they spoke with the doc and he said he close the door for privacy i followed up with store manger I explain and she reply you call the police for that ?? I'm still trying for a full refund through corporate and still no call from district manger . I came into eyeglass world Saturday I was very skeptical at first. But when I came in the store I was greeted by everyone. A young lady walked me to the back to the Doctor's side for the eye exam. The Young lady named Tay greeted me, I did not know if I had insurance or not. She went through all the insurances that they expect. Unfortunately she wasn't able to find anything but sure enough she informed me that since that I didn't have insurance she would discount the exam for me. I was very pleased with the offer she recommended me. She was very professional and quick. She even help me with picking out some glasses. My over all experience was wonderful. Everyone was nice and helpful. I will be sending my friends there to get a exam and glasses. read more

First time in eyeglass world .had a great experience every one was helpful in the store. I called Eailer That day To Make A appointment a girl name tay was very nice over the phone and helpful with the insurance knowledge. When I came in for the exam she had already had my insurance pulled and even some things where filled out. She was very nice and helpful she even walked me to the front to the sales associate name Lacresha. Lacresha was very knowledgeable of styles and frames . I'm so glad I came in.
