Never once in my entire life of wearing glasses (about 18 years) have I had such a caring eye doctor. I was referred to Dr. Sue Moss by my friend Crystal L., who insisted that Moss truly cared about the well-being of her patients' eyes. She really believes that "eyes are precious." First and foremost, she's a strong believer in holistic care--AND she is a licensed optometrist (I believe she studied at UH's School of Opt). On my first eye exam with Dr. Moss, she explained--in detail--the purpose of each machine she used to examine my eyes. That blew me away. All those years being rushed in and out of the Wal-Mart eye doctor, and never once did the doc explain that "this machine measures the size of your iris," or "this is why we do the light test." Moving on... After my exam, we did some "eye exercises" to naturally strengthen my eyes--how quickly they focus and adjust to certain objects and such. This was amazing and it actually worked! One topic you might get into is the subject of iridology (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&hs=l6b&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=iridology&spell=1), which Dr. Moss is also a practicing iridologist. By studying various spots in my iris, she was able to inform me of "weaknesses" I had in my body. She recommended that I drink more water, add pineapple and the herb milk thistle to my diet and such. I wasn't a big believer in such things prior to this, but she could tell that in the past six months, I had been drinking a little too much alcohol--sooo true. Another option you might want to discuss with her is hard contact lenses. As an alternative to invasive LASIK eye surgery, hard lenses (which have come a long way since your grandparents' day) are worn at night and removed in the morning for a full day of clear vision. Wow. These normally sell for 1-2K, but Dr. Moss cares so incredibly much about her patients' eyes, she sells them for about 100 bucks. I recommend Dr. Moss to all of my friends, family and coworkers. I do tell them, however, that if you schedule an appointment with her, make sure you have a good 1-2 hours open, because you will lose track of time as you chat her up--and as she does the same! read more

My 12-year-old daughter went to see Dr. Sue Moss and she was so happy that she took the time to answer all of her questions. Dr. Sue Moss is very patient and took her time to make sure that she got everything right on the first try of ortho K lenses that you wear at night. I highly recommend her to anyone that wants to finally get rid of glasses.I called her on a Friday and she offered to have me come in on the Sunday to days later. As good as it gets. Dr. Moss is an incredibly caring and devoted practitioner. I look forward to my appointments and wouldn't go anywhere else. I know this because once I did go somewhere else, to an optometrist my parents recommended, who rushed me around the office and tried to play bait and switch with the prices. Dr Sue Moss Is Unprofessional. I was referred to her from an ad in a newsletter. I called and she took me on as a client and I paid for an exam and then even purchased my glasses from her, instead of Costco. I bought supplements and was going twice a week for vision training and after four weeks, without any notice or discussion, Dr Sue Moss stopped returning my phone calls to schedule appointment's and apparently just dropped me as a client. I had my Girl Friend call to try and schedule an appointment for me, as Dr Moss would not return my calls. My GF left a voice message which was returned within minutes, however Dr. Sue Moss was non responsive with her on the phone call. I have called several times WITHOUT a response I followed up with an email requesting my prescription so that I could get sunglasses . . . NO RESPONSE. So, we can add unethical to her modus operandi. I paid for services and she will not provide my prescription She does seem to know her stuff, however . . As I said very unprofessional, esp for a Health Care provider. read more

Dr Moss is one of a kind. A diamond in the rough, DRs like her are very few, and I am so happy I found her. Dr Moss is very knowledgeable in her profession, but on top of that she is the sweetest and most caring Dr I have ever met. I went to see her because I can not see signs far away which I am nearsighted. One thing I do not want to do is wear glasses or contacts all day, and thank goodness I don't since I have been to Dr Moss. I did some eye exercises while in the office which other DRs don't do which they should, but as I mentioned before she is one of a kind and we need more like her. I learned new things too which I did not know before. She has every instrument you need to check eyes. She explains each one too which is nice to know. Oh and she is a professional in ideology. She takes her time with you because she wants to be sure you understand everything about your eyes and do the right procedure for them. Dr Moss also does Orthokeratology which you wear a certain kind of hard contact to bed which reshapes your eyes while you sleep and the next morning you take them out and wow, you can see clearly the whole day without glasses or contacts. I was so excited to be able to read signs far away while driving. I can't say enough but I better stop here or I can go on and on, lol Just go see her, you will be happy you did and she will not charge you an arm and a leg. she is very reasonable which I really appreciate so much. read more

She has an honest and genuine desire to help you improve your vision, not just compensate for it! She is also holistic, which is very high in my book. My issue happened in 2016 and here it is 2020 and still what she did, she never reached out professionally to me to try to make things right. Here I will share what I wrote from what she did in 2016. " I'm very shaken up currently. I had been seeing Dr. Moss since 2012. And I really enjoyed and agreed with her work. She had always been very kind to me. But today, I'm leaving empty handed, in shock, disbelief, and as stated, very shaken up. I must have had my original appointment in January. I don't remember the date. It was at that time I needed to order new contacts and glasses. Which I had Dr. Moss order for me, the arrangement was for her to submit it in a month, as I was not ready to pay just yet. When I was ready to pay I contacted her. I had a bit of a,delay, which I courteously explained to her, back when the attorney general sent a form to my employer, with my ex husbands name on it, therefore, getting money taken from my paycheck, which took time to resolve. I began contacting her to arrange payment and pick up in early March. I spent all of March , trying to swing by and pay for and pick up contacts and glasses. Every time I spoke to her, I told her I'd be coming this Thursday for sure, I'd I was unable to the earlier days, which were unsuccessful. At this point, I was already feeling uncomfortable and taking the hint of the passive aggressive behavior towards me in attempts for me to simply just pay and pick up my contacts and new glasses. I have always communicated with her about when I'd try. Thus date never changed. I was unable to call to remind her yesterday, honestly I shouldn't have to. If they are ready, then the are ready. All I should need to do is pay for them. I did call her early this morning and left a message. I went ahead and decided to swing by. I got there at 11:30. She didn't show up until 12:30. She did have a patient scheduled at that time. I told her I just wanted my contacts abs glasses and to pay for them. She handed me a bag of a few contacts to last me a while and told me that's all age had for me at that time and her focus was on her scheduled client. I'm just going to re emphasize, I had told her on several phone calls that this was the day I'd swing by to pick them up. I told her I'll just be finding a new eye dr. Because her lack of organization combined with passive aggressiveness is just too much unprofessionalism for me. I'm disappointed that she the only holistic eye dr in all of Houston and I've even referred my clients and acquaintances to her. When I told her that, she got incredibly aggressive, hostile and defensive towards me. Saying she has a client and angry I just showed up like that, but I didn't because I had told her more then one I'd come today. She also said she'd been sick and treated me like I'm the bad person. Um no. Very rude, and very unprofessional. I will stop recommending her and stop coming here. It seems like she was a completely different person, from when I had seen her before. I've never had a "health professional " talk or treat me like this, ever. There were also people in the waiting room who witnessed her hostility and aggression towards me. They were in as much disbelief as I was. So basically. She gets confrontational and mad at me for attempting to pick up my contacts and glasses. When I'm there, I'm the one who is actually pissed but trying to remain calm. I was told well over a month ago they were ready for me. I feel as though the treatment of giving me a hard time getting them was intentional. So when all she did was and me a few contacts to last me a while and tells me that's all she can do for me because she has a client....of course I am pissed. Especially because this was something ordered a long time ago, was supposedly ready for me over a month ago and I had told her on more than one occasion that I would be coming this day if I couldn't come any other day previously. I told her I'm just going to find a new eye dr, and then that was when she turned ugly towards me with her aggression, defensiveness and hostility. Defensive because she was saying she was sick. She was sick the whole month? What happened to them being ready when she told me they were ready a month ago? I've been by before to only pick up and pay for contacts or glasses....I didn't have to make an appointment just to pick someone up. She'd let me do that before. I do not understand why this was anything different, especially when we had been communicating about a pick up day for an entire month." Other tidbits, Since I called her several times in attempt to get what I needed, she could have mentioned at any of those phone calls that I needed to "make an appointment", also she would allow my appts to be interrupted with strangers and once even stopped to go out and sit in the sun while I was waiting for her to get on with my appt so I could leave and I had a toddler with me. I used to wear during the day contact lenses or glasses as I am myopic and Dr Moss, without pushing me to buy anything, introduced me to different lenses that reshape the cornea (method called Orthokeratology) and that you have to wear at night. Very patiently, she explained to me how that type of lenses work and let me try them a few times. I was convinced. I could, after wearing them, see my sight improving. I bought my pair of lenses for much less than at any other retailers. Dr Moss really cares about her patients' eyes and not about making huge profits like any other doctors. After wearing my new lenses a few nights, my vision was perfect during the day. I am so happy to be lenses or glasses free during the day. It's a feeling of freedom. At her office, she has lots of different equipments and machines to examine your eyes and to exercise your eyes. She is very kind, very knowledgeable; she even is an expert in iridology and can tell you some info and advice about your health. Dr Sue Moss is an excellent optometrist. I highly recommend her.
