Fantastic experience! I arrived early for my eye exam and was greeted promptly by Daniela at the front desk. The entire staff is friendly, efficient, and helpful. Dr. Nguyen was wonderful. Engaging, personable, and very knowledgable. She talked me through all of my test results and discussed my prescriptions in detail (I have several for different activities). She is one of the best optometrists I've visited in Houston and I'm very happy with the level of service and attention to detail I received at Envision Eye Care. Highly recommend! read more

I haven't been here since maybe 2013, but I had seen Dr. Nguyen for a couple years when I still lived in med center then. Loved her so much, felt that she really cared and was very patient, kind and really helped me when she let me know I could wear soft contacts instead of the gas permeable ones I had worn for years. I have special eye circumstances, and had felt she really took good care of me while letting me know what my options were without being pushy! Since having my own family and taking my son and myself to different places eye doctors since then, no one's compared to her so far. We live really far away now, but contemplating coming back - that's how much I appreciate her! So glad to see she's still in business and to see others experience similar things about her! read more

So it's not like you go to the optometrist that often, for me once a year but at least I don't dread that visit because of the people here. Everyone here is professional from the people that greet you at the front to the optometrists that see you in the back. I've been here for my last 2 annual visits and as long as I'm in the area will continue going back. They are quick and know their stuff. There are lots of designer frames and they offer lindberg. I had never heard of this brand but they looked amazing. I constantly get compliments about my glasses and I have their recommendation to thank. As far as contacts go, I used to be an fan of the oasis hydraclear which are good, but they suggested switching to the Bausch & Laumb day and night which are GREAT! I've been using them for the past year and they never dry up on me. I sometimes wear them overnight implied in the name and they hold up fine the next morning. I never have that dry eye feeling where you squint and look confused. Now if I could just find a dentist as good; life would be complete. read more

Great easy process to get an eye exam. I filled out the online appointment form and just called to make sure and set the actual appointment date. -1 star because I had to do that extra step to ensure I had the appointment. The online form never listed anything about dates/times. Dr. Nguyen was super friendly and conversational while she conducted the eye exam. She also gave me an extra pair of contacts when I left and seemed very open to following up if I needed. At the end, the receptionist helped me get the contacts I needed and processed it all very painlessly. Overall, I would return! Especially given the convenient location with lots of available parking. read more

I have worn glass and or contacts for 40+ years. In 2016 I needed to get a new pair of glasses but couldn't get a quick appointment for my usual doctor. Envision Eye Care on West Holcombe is about 3 miles from my office, and I received an exam appointment the next day, so I thought it was a great option. Over the years eye frame selection has become my greatest challenge and having terrible vision doesn't help. For the most part, my experience with the techs has been that although they are nice, he/she agrees with whatever frame I select. That was not the case with the Envision Eye Care team (Chris, Matt, Cecily, and Dr. Giao Nguyen). Each one seemed committed to making sure I had the best experience. These days anyone can offer customer service, but I am seeking customer service excellence when choosing where I spend my dollars. I took a long time reviewing frames. No one tried to rush me. I finally decided to accept Chris' assistance which meant stepping outside of my comfort zone and purchasing the frames he selected. For months I received compliments whenever a coworker saw me for the first time in the new frames. I spend approximately 12 hours (work, school) per day on the computer. This year I notice blurred vision, especially when at the computer. Again, I visited Envision Eye Care. Dr. Nguyen spent ample time listening to my concerns and making sure I felt comfortable with the new eye script (1 or 2; 2 or 3, etc.). Those with significant sight challenges understand what I mean. This year I needed occupational and my regular glasses for driving and distance vision. Once again, Chris came to my rescue, listening to my concerns about the two types of lenses. He worked with my insurance, choice of frames to make sure my needs and concerns were alleviated. Chris, my medical physician, says I need a comprehensive eye exam every year. Dr. Nguyen is absolutely the BEST in eyecare!! I previously had been to at least 3 eye doctors in my area and they refused to spend the amount of time I needed to find the right lens for my eyes - they were much different between the left and right. I went to see Dr. Nguyen and explained to her the significant issues and not finding an eye Dr. willing to take the time. She spent well over an hour on my visit and found the right lenses that others' had not! Ever since then I've been going to her & getting excellent care with no regards to how much time it took! Took my two young children (5 and 6) to get an eye exam here and the exam was thorough and an overall pleasant experience. Dr. Nguyen was very patient with my kids and put them at ease with her welcoming and calming spirit. She was also very understanding with answering all of the questions of a worried parent. I looked at the reviews and decided to do an eye exam and order my new contact there. When I got there, I found out it was just an average clinic. The front staff were not as good as people said. I liked one of them but didn't like the other plain lady that didn't have any personality and had no smile in the entire conversation. After I got my pupil dilated, I can't see anything clear and felt very sensitive to the lights. Plus I was not familiar with the clinic's environment, I felt nervous and uncomfortable. In this situation, the staff needed to be extra considerate to ease the patient, or at least be a little nice. But she didn't do anything like that, nor was she as nice or polite as any employee in any regular store. The doctor was ok. Professional enough and did everything she was supposed to do. read more

The doctor is very pleasant, kind, and patient. Most of the other staff at the office are pretty nice as well, however, there is this one lady who isn't very friendly every single time I've gone. It makes it uncomfortable to ask her questions as she always seems frustrated. One time she even snapped at the other staff member for not getting the document to her fast enough. They didn't have a huge variety of glasses frames to choose from and gave me the wrong information about my insurance (which I found out after I had called my vision insurance company after inquiring about purchasing glasses frames here). read more

Going to see the optometrist typically is nothing to call home about. But the staff here makes it a pleasant enough experience. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with a smile. Before seeing the dr for the exam in the back, the pre-exams done by front staff. The wait to see the dr was relatively short, which is always a plus because most dr's offices feel like your time isn't valuable and appointments mean nothing. I have been going to Envision Eye Care since moving to Houston almost eight years ago. Their staff is friendly and competent. The doctor I see is always professional, very kind and listens to me. I have a particularly strong prescription, and I appreciate that when I go for a contact fitting they are always able to give me a sample pair that day. The space inside is very clean, bright and inviting. I love perusing the stylish frames on display, I'm particular to the Etnia Barcelona brand they carry, it's a line with very vibrant colors. The frames here in general are more than you would pay at Target or Costco, but they are stylish and high quality. This past visit I decided to finally order my first pair of glasses from Envision, and I can't wait to pick them up next week. I've been to other eye doctors in other towns but Envision Eye Care is definitely the best! read more

I too thought Envision was great for years and through several pairs of glasses. But today I inadvertently became aware of something that shocked me. I had gone in to get a price on a new set of lenses, and they were so expensive, even with insurance, that I thought I would shop around. I was told the lenses were Zeiss Plus, which apparently is high end, and that was the reason they were so expensive. Apparently they had changed my lenses from Varilux High Index because the reading part was not as good as Zeiss Plus (never had been told that before). So, reading such wonderful reviews of Vision Optique on Yelp, I took my prescription there to get a price. Well, it turns out that my lenses are not Zeiss at all; in fact, the person helping me could not find the symbol she was seeing on the glasses anywhere in her book of codes and symbols. She even took be back to the machine that shows the symbol, and I could see myself that it was definitely not the Zeiss symbol in the book. The store could get Zeiss for me, so it was never question of making the sale. So Envision was charging me so much money for what was supposed to be high end lenses but were not. In other words, they lied and overcharged for what must be a knock off. And I would never have known it. What a racket. It makes suspect everything they have told me about my glasses, coatings and all. I think I should report this, but I have no idea what entity oversees eyeglass providers. Plus, I got Varilux High Index lenses for much less money that Envision wanted to charge, for both the supposed Zeiss lenses and the Varilux. read more

Quick, friendly, professional. The staff person was very efficient and able to answer my questions. The optometrist was brief and did not spend much time with me - but I appreciate her "let's get this done" attitude as I have no desire to spend my whole day at the office. She answered all my questions and concerns without making me feel rushed. She also spoke frankly that contact lenses would probably mean spending more money but wouldn't be useful for me as I would have prescription only in one eye - thanks for not pushing product! One star off as all the frames they have in the office are of very similar style (I thought they were ugly), and more expensive than I've seen elsewhere. Will probably go back next year! read more

Right after the eye exams as a regular checkup (both my wife and I), my wife started to have eye inflammation on her left eye. We went back in a few days to talk to Dr. Nguyen. her response was that they are not responsible for that because if their eye drop was a problem, why my wife has inflammation on only one eye, not both eyes. Luckily her symptom subsided within a week or so. Funnily, I started to having the same symptom on my left eye when her symptom subsided. I waited a couple of months so that the symptom goes away but it didn't. I went to see Dr. Nguyen but she was not available. I went back in a few weeks after calling ahead to make sure Dr. Nguyen is available. I explained the situation on the phone but Dr. Nguyen would not come to check my eye. Upon hearing about the situation on the phone, the receptionist checked my medical record before my arrival. The receptionist would say that I cannot see the doctor unless I paid for this new exam. She said that because I did not report my symptom within a few days, my symptom is not related to their exam. She also said that my symptom began not immediately after the exam so it is not related to their exam. I thought they were not very professional because my wife also had the same symptom and I explained the situation but Dr. would not come out even for a minute to check out the situation. Instead, they were asking for more money for a separate exam. My wife and I never had any eye problem before visiting this clinic, my suspect is that they are using contaminated eye drops or their equipment is not clean. One of my doctor (MD) friend told me that their eye drop could have done something on my tear gland or duct because the inflammation is there. I am going to see an ophthalmologist to have my eye inflammation checked. I hesitated on writing this review because I did not want to affect their business but I thought you may want to know what happened to me and my wife. I will never go back to this clinic for an exam exam. read more
