I wasn't the biggest fan of the food here. There wasn't as much of a "wow" factor with the food/wine pairings. Personally, I did not enjoy the lack of flavors with the food, but that is just personal preference. I don't think I'd want to come back again. It was also not worth the price, especially when compared to the experience I had at One by Spork for their vegetarian tasting menu over the summer. I felt that the quantity of the food and the kind of wine offered at EYV wasn't on par with the price point. With all of that being said, the service was great, and the waitress was great as well!

How embarrassing, Yelp just reminded me that I have a draft review sitting here from quite some time ago. But the photos are beautiful and EYV was just named one of Pittsburgh Magazine's top restaurants for 2025, so instead of feeling late, I am still posting as a reminder to anyone, vegetarian, vegan or omnivore, that this is a special restaurant we're lucky to have in Pittsburgh. I've been a vegetarian since age 5. It's been a lifetime of scanning menus to quickly figure out what my limited options are, how I can ask for things to be modified, or in the case of a few restaurants that really have just about nothing for me, eating a full meal at home before going out with family or friends. EYV is making beautiful, creative, fresh dishes that rotate with the seasons. The fact that they are plant-forward almost feels incidental to the creativity, artistry and talent. My last visit here was with two meat eaters who enjoyed the experience as much as I did. We shared about six dishes in total between appetizers and mains, and no one went home hungry. I have heard my share of jokes about eating rabbit food, but entrees like cabbage pastrami are seriously hearty food that will fill you up. You owe it to yourself to give it a try - and I owe it to myself to get back here ASAP!

4.5 stars. Eat Your Veggies (EYV) Restaurant serves "vegetable foods." The vegetables are sourced from local farms in Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio. Some foods might contain animal products, but customers may request that all foods be prepared as vegetarian and gluten-free, and most foods can be prepared as vegan. A children's menu and a full bar (cocktails, wines, bourbons, whiskeys, beers, scotches, vodkas, teas, liqueurs, etc.) are available. I made a reservation for dinner for my husband and me. Please note that a credit card must be on file to make a reservation. Upon our arrival to the restaurant, the seating hostess immediately seated us. Our waiter made friendly conversation throughout our meal. Our appetizer was the Snack Sampler, which consisted of Hummus Fritters (3 stars), Broccoli Chicarrones (4.5 stars), and Codiflower Sticks (5 stars). My main course was Sweet Pea and Potato Pierogi (5 stars). My husband's main course was Mushroom Etouffee (4 stars). My dessert was Kiwi Berry Semifreddo (5 stars) with Porto wine (4.5 stars). Honestly, my husband does not like vegetables, so he barely ate any of his food, and I ate nearly all of it for him! I thought that the vegetable foods had creative recipes, were healthy, and tasted very good. Please see my attached photos for the menus in April 2025. Furthermore, EYV offers a Chef's Counter with an 8-course tasting menu.

Such a great experience at EYV! We loved the pairing menu. We added on to the 3 course, so we could try most of the menu. Best vegetarian food in the city. Mostly small bites, treated it like tapas. Pairings all matched up great. The staff was great and very attentive. Somewhat small, but loved the vibe and upstairs bar. Can't say enough about how good both the food and experience were. We'll be back soon!

I enjoyed trying their unique take on vegetarian dishes and felt each piece was unique and very flavorful. However, I wished the portion sizes were a bit bigger. I liked the appetizer platter the most. The entrees felt the flavoring was mostly very sour and had less layers to it compared to the appetizer. Drinks weren't as impressive as we expected as well. They sounded interesting on the menu, but we felt each of them tasted the same. For example, mine had st germain but you can't really taste it at all. It was overpowered by the other alcohol in it, unsure if it was vodka or gin. The same goes for the other drinks, the alcohol was very overpowering making them all taste the same. Overall, did not feel the meal was worth the price.

We went yesterday night for dinner and opted for one of their pre-fixe menu options - you can do four courses for $55 or five courses for $70 (or just buying the dishes a la carte is an option, too) and we went with the first option and got a couple of cocktails with it. I got the seasonal Torte-Tini and it tastes like a burnt almond torte except less sweet and more boozy and I LOVED it. I'm normally a pretty voracious meat eater but really liked all the courses I got! Everything was flavorful and had great texture and our server was lovely as well so no complaints here. The inside consists of a small downstairs and a small upstairs with a bar so definitely not good for a group bigger than four - be sure to make reservations! It is a little pricey for the portion sizes and lack of meat but still worth it for an occasional nice night out.

This was a fun and unique dining experience (3 course meal, smaller restaurant, all vegetarian). The food for me was a little hit or miss! There were some absolutely phenomenal dishes, like the corn pierogis and the Tomato Parmesan. However, other dishes were just okay. I ordered the summer squash roulade and didn't love it. I also thought the first course snack plate had great concepts going on (fancier junk food) but it didn't do much for me overall. All in all, I enjoyed my time and would return for special occasions and perhaps order a little different. It was quite expensive ($150 for 2 with one drink each plus tip) for me to only love two of the five dishes my boyfriend and I shared. But, if you're a vegetarian or just looking for a unique dining experience, I would recommend trying! Also, our waiter was wonderful and very kind.

Let me tell you about this place....... My first time here was last year on my birthday. It was the most unique restaurant I have ever been too. Absolutely amazing flavor infusions and truly unique creations. Last year we had Rod as our server, and met Mike the chef. They were great!! Fast forward to tonight. Fabulous creations and amazing service once again! (Thank you Kristen and Daniel!). The Lions Mane Marsala was one of the best things I have ever eaten in my life!!! (If anyone has Lions Mane recipes, please share!) But the best part was that Rod and chef remembered me!!! (Good or bad, i don't know ‍‍) In a big city with so many options, this place is a gem!!!! In ALL ways. If you are in the area, go!!!!! I would give this place and its people 20 stars if i could!! Thank you for being the best of the best!! Ps. They also all signed a birthday card for me.

Exceptional comfort food, welcoming staff, and a nice ambiance. The food is excellent and beautifully presented. The chef shows a lot of creativity. Frankly, I was embarrassed that Pittsburgh restaurants used to offer a single vegetarian option, usually a veggie burger or a mushroom dish. EYV, I applaud you!

SAVOR, SAVOR, SAVOR. If you're looking to fuel up before a big athletic event, this isn't the place. If you value quantity over quality, this isn't the place. If you're not open-minded about a meal that isn't meat-centric, this isn't the place for you. If you're looking for a great dining EXPERIENCE, this is it. My daughter and I shared a series of small bites for her birthday. Our server thoroughly explained each dish and nearly everything could be made gluten-free to accommodate my dietary needs. Each plate was brought out separately, allowing us to fully savor the aromas, tastes and textures before moving on to the next dish. Believe it or not, we felt quite satisfied with the portions because those little bites add up. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the space immaculate. The staff was friendly and professional - and even presented my daughter with a birthday card. I highly recommend EYV as a special treat - even if you're a meat-lover. It is pricey, but again, it's about the experience. I did note the space is pretty tight, so if you have accessibility needs, I would review that with staff when making a reservation. And remember Eat Your Vegetables!

Visited EYV for restaurant week and was blown away by the great service and even better food! EYV (Eat Your Vegetables) is such a fun concept for both vegetarians and non-veggie folk alike, and the menu is so fun and creative and unlike any other restaurant in Pittsburgh. The staff are so kind and friendly, and the space itself is elegant without being stuffy or overdone. The 3 course meal was perfectly portioned, and beautifully presented, not to mention absolutely delicious. I tried the Yukon gold pierogi, the cabbage pastrami, and the cheese and apple dessert. All were PACKED with flavor and interesting textures and preparation styles, and the plating was all lovely and showed an attention to detail. I wholeheartedly recommend for a date night or a dinner with a few friends!

Five stars for our first visit to EYV. We chose the snack sampler, Rutabaga "lasagna" and Fungal Farms Mushroom Congee. All were excellent, but my favorite was the snack sampler with a glass of white wine. We finished with a red beet churro (shared). Nice atmosphere - casual but upscale at the same time.

I came in for the highly raved about espresso martini and restaurant week tasting menu and left feeling like I got a well rounded, sophisticated dining experience. The martini lived up to its reputation, the tequila was smooth but boozy! Almost everything served is gluten free and veggie forward, with a unique and frequently updated selection of dishes. The standouts for me were the arancini and napoleon. The service was flawless, our waiter Rodrick was very attentive and friendly. I love the addition of EYV to the neighborhood and look forward to what's in store next time!

Everything on the menu is connected to mindful eating, loving and appreciating yourself, and improving your health and the way you feel about yourself. That sounds pretty heavy, but I recommend that you try it. It may not change your life, but at least you can appreciate how delicious it is, and how vibrant and healthy you feel after eating it. So, actually a guy at the information booth was eating something from here and I asked him where he got it from because it looked very good and he recommended them to me. So we headed their way. Tbh: Every place that we wanted to eat at had a line 25-50 deep and we were super hungry and their line was only like 5-7 people deep which was a blessing. First off, the service in general was kind of crappy, but I understand as it was a hot and very busy day and from what they told my gf at the time they were getting low on food as well and only had a couple items that were left from the menu. After deciding what we wanted which was one of three things my gf at the time ordered us the Mac and Cheese and a container of ranch to take home while I looked for a place for us to eat. So after they handed her our food we headed over to an area with tables and chairs to eat the Mac and Cheese. I must say we both thoroughly enjoyed every single bit of it and my gf at the time isn't even vegan. So that says a lot! I highly recommended it :) FYI: The person who took her order also forgot to give her the container of ranch she paid for. I wasn't made aware that she purchased it until afterwards because my gf at the time wanted to surprise me but they didn't give her a receipt so she had no proof. Oh well, you live and learn, sadly! The vibe on this day was on point so we let the little things go in regards to the crappy service and the shorting us of an overpriced container of ranch fall to the wayside and continued on with our wonderful day, smiling and enjoying the amazing festival and area. If I decide to stop by your food trailer again this year at the festival or whenever I am somewhere you are posted up in front of, I hope you make up for your mistakes from last year because that's the right thing to do.
