Eco-Friendly Boating Bliss on Peanut Island…read more I recently had the absolute best day exploring Peanut Island and the Riviera Beach area in an electric Tritoon from Vision Marine! My group and I rented a 20-foot Tritoon model from Bluewater Boat Rental in Riviera Beach. From the moment we stepped onto this technologically advanced electric boat, we were amazed. It was super quiet with zero engine noise or exhaust fumes. The electric motor provided a smooth, peaceful ride. We cruised over to Peanut Island and were able to get close to shore in the shallow waters thanks to the Tritoon's propulsion system. We anchored the boat near the island and enjoyed swimming and snorkeling in the calm, clear waters. Later, we took the boat across the inlet to Sailfish Marina Restaurant. Pulling up to the dock on this futuristic electric vessel felt so cool. We had a great lunch on the waterfront before heading back. Renting this electric Vision Marine boat completely enhanced our experience out on the water. The quiet ride and zero emissions made it easy to relax and focus on soaking up the Florida sunshine and scenery. An eco-friendly way to enjoy boating - I'll definitely be back!

I'm…read morealmost embarrassed to say how filthy the boat was when Bilbo's hauled it last week - the hull, cockpit and vinyl cockpit seating. Today I received back the boat beautifully clean and waxed/polished, looking pretty much as good as it did when I picked it up new in 2006. Even the vinyl seating that I thought was beyond help looks great. (I had literally planned to have the seating reupholstered in the near future, and now see I will not need to do so anytime soon.) I wish I had taken "before" pictures, but unfortunately I didn't. Bilbo's also bottom painted the boat, painted the drive and trim tabs, and changed hydraulic hoses on the outdrive. All of the work was done very well and promptly, but it is the detailing that truly exceeded my expectations- the boat looks better than I imagined possible. "Detailing" is not really the right word- it is more of a "restoration." In addition to its very good work, Bilbo's is an absolute pleasure to deal with. They met me at a boat ramp at exactly the time promised, both to haul out and return the boat. The office manager kept me apprised of the progress of the work by phone and text, and even texted photo and video updates. When the boat was hauled out last week, I was told it would be ready to be put back in the water before this weekend, and so it was - even though more work than originally planned turned out to be necessary (replacement of the rotted hydraulic lines). I will be calling Bilbo's Marine in the future, and recommend them very highly.

Sunblock - check, Hat - check, water bottles - check, small towel - check and now I am ready. I've never been on this boat before, Lady K. I have no idea what it will be like. But I planned to have the morning off and just the thought of being out on the ocean was enough to get me to go, fish or not, I am going to have a good morning. I arrive and to my delight, there are only about 8 people on the boat, it's a Tuesday morning, and I know I will feel safe with lots of "social distancing." My only small concern in the fee went from $40 to $60 and when asked why I was told; COVID 19. OK, I get it, the boat's at 1/2 capacity and it's not like I have to add a new expense item to my weekly budget, but after today, I may just do that! We take off and the sky is so beautiful, the sun is up and the cloud formations are majestic. We are about 15 minutes out from the doc and I feel so happy being on the ocean in the fresh air; the ocean scent, the sun and warmth (it's not too hot yet) and the smooth ride is making my think of a why I came to Florida in the first place. Captain Frank and his first mate Bobby are out helping us get set up with bait and in my case rod and reel. I asked about the cost of my loaner, Bobby responded it would cost about $300 to replace. I held on even tighter at that point. We find our first spot, I am told to let it out all the way and hit the bottom, we are "drift fishing" which is simply letting the natural drift of the ocean and light wind move us along. People are catching fish! I apparently am feeding fish! My bait keeps disappearing in bites as they eat around the hook. Smart little buggers. I am an hour in and I get a hit! It's a big one, feels like a whale, but it's actually much smaller and it finds a way to get free before I pull him up. This happens now several times and I am pretty sure there's a sign on my hook that says "beginner" and the fish know it. Finally, I catch a sweet little yellow tail and I am so happy! It was almost the end of the trip so the timing was perfect. A delightful ride back to shore and Captain Frank offers to filet my fish for me. A few others didn't want their yellow tail so it became part of my take home. Later that evening, a scrambled egg, a little breading, a fresh lemon and a hot iron skillet was all I needed to have a memorable dinner. A great way to end a delightful day on the ocean. I will be back!

Beware, this place is going downhill fast. One of the worst service experiences I have ever had in…read moremy life- go to a real place like ESK Golf Carts which is nearby. Sent them my golf cart to fix the wiring, and passed by the shop after they told me the wiring was done. To my surprise, the work was not completed/tested when I arrived (look at the images, loose trim pieces and disconnected battieries- im sure they will come up with some excuse as to why they did that). They refused to test the cart with their own test batteries to make sure the wiring was correct, and went back the following week to deliver a new one for THEM. However, when I came back the second time they seemed to be more focused on running up a $300 repair into almost $2,500- starting with about $450 in labor I did not approve or see perfomed, selling me of their own batteries for over $1,000, and another $800 for a controller which they said was "could" be damaged but refused to confirm if it was. By the way, I supplied a secondary controller, but didn't bother testing the controller I provided (I wonder why). Seems like the typical mechanic shop scam, they quote you one thing and then try to run up a huge tab while unable to prove the work was succesfully completed. Stay away!
