Watching a soccer game at Highmark Stadium was so fun! The bleachers were definitely giving upgraded high school stadium vibes but honestly, no complaints. The food and drinks were standard stadium pricing and the bathrooms were clean. It wasn't too difficult to get into the stadium and the lines moved quickly. Parking in the garage was a headache. It took us around 45 minutes to get out so I'd recommend finding another way to get to the stadium (like using public transport). Finally, the views from inside the stadium were so gorgeous. That alone made the experience super worth coming back for! read more

We always have a wonderful time at the soccer games here and try to get to the stadium at least once a year. It's a family friendly environment with close-up views to the action. There's a taste of food for everybody's preference and beverages alike... so long as you're not looking for very healthy options! The gift store has plenty of branded merchandise, and if you're lucky, the team will sign autographs at the end of the night. Definitely worth a visit! read more

Had a blast at my second-ever Riverhounds game recently. I think I'm officially a soccer fan. The energy from the fan club is exciting and they love to get the crowd going to cheer on the team. Highmark is a great venue with beautiful views of the city. For a sports stadium the prices are much lower for food than the others. Drinks are comparable but also still cheaper than other stadiums. We actually came for dollar beer night (happy hour 5-7 before the game starts) which was a crazy good deal. I really enjoy the ambiance and friendly staff at the stadium. Go hounds! read more

I attended a Riverhounds game and had a blast! For me, going to a soccer game is not the first thing I think of doing on a weekend in Pittsburgh but the stadium has a great view and it's fun to watch the game from field level. I will say that the concession lines were really long, it didn't seem like they were prepared for the large crowd that they had, but it didn't ruin the experience. Highmark Stadium is laid out well with spacious areas to convene with friends after grabbing something to eat or drink from a concession stand. The views from all around the stadium are fantastic. I especially like seeing the city from here when the sun is starting to set. It's really breathtaking. Seating is comfortable and really a great sports arena. read more

Sorry for the tartness of writing this review. It was our first soccer game at Highmark Stadium, It was a great match between the Riverhounds and Charlotte 0-0 yet a great match. Our granddaughters play for the Riverhounds Academy club. We have always want to see and match and support the hounds and our granddaughters. The stadium was just as I expect. Not a bad seat in the whole place. Comfortable chair seats not benches. A lot of beer and a lot of rest rooms !! Highly recommended seeing a match !! We will return. read more

Very cozy and comfortable place to take in a Riverhounds game or a concert. Facilities are nicely kept and modern, and concessions were reasonable and very tasty. The parking was good on entry, but having only one exit makes egress very difficult and slow. Might suggest parking at Station Square and walking over, though we have not done that. * *This is for the Pittsburgh Mac and Cheese Festival held at Highmark Stadium* * This had to be one of the worst events. Parking was bad at $10 within atleast a half mile radius, even in the incline lot. Other lots were cash only, which thankfully I had. No one knew which line to stand in. There was no direction on where to go. Finally, other people who were attending told me where to go. Standing in line to get in, a security guard was going around checking people bag size. No one knew there was even a bag policy. I was reading people who took the T and Uber did not have anywhere to leave a bag or purse. The lady behind me was told hers was too big. The guy saw mine and said it was ok. The guy in front of me had a giant diaper bag which was somehow also fine to let in. After waiting 30 minutes, I get to the actual security and ticket scan point. The security guard there said my purse was too big to bring in. I explained someone already went around and said it was fine. After explaining this to 2 separate people, I said I'll just go to the car and put it there. The one security guard was nice enough to let me back in right away when I got back so I didn't have to wait another 30 minutes in line. After walking around, I saw multiple people with larger bags and purses than I had. Even someone with the same exact purse I had. Most of the other items for sale were cash only. They did have an ATM but probably charged another $5 surcharge to use. I only got a bottle of water due to the heat. Lines were terrible. 25-30 minutes wait per line. Some were more prepared than others. Trucks should have had atleast 2-3 people working but most only had 1. Most of the samples were decent so the actual mac and cheese part was fine. I attended the first session and some were sold out by 2:30pm, leaving a whole hour left without food. Unfortunately, I was unable to get all the available samples. It was a fun experience. We went to watch my daughters College Lacrosse game vs Pitt. The field was great with a nice view it the City skyline as it sits on one of those 3 rivers in Pittsburgh. It is a little difficult to find the location where it sits. Ample parking but the best thing is the Bar at the end of the field. It offers food and plenty to drink and you can watch the game from inside threw the giant glass wall facing the field. read more

Great venue for watching the Pittsburgh Riverhounds and USL level soccer. Terrific view of the Steel City, ample and inexpensive parking, great food both at the stadium (very reasonably priced too!) as well as in adjacent Station Square. Always a great time here...go Hounds! read more

My wife and I were here for the Toby Keith Concert and What a great venue to hold a concert! Loved sitting in the seats for the whole show and was able to see very well! Nice stadium. We had good seats (108, D). Right by our goal. The seats were comfortable, but even at 5'2", I could have used more leg room. The soccer game against Harrisburg Islanders went on, regardless of rain, which wasn't a downpour. If it looks like rain, bring a rain poncho and a hand towel to wipe seats. They hold water very nicely, because of the way they're curved. Ladies, wear a cross body bag; it's safer, and much less of a pain than a purse. Wear sneakers, especially if the kiddoes want to get autographs/photos from the players on the field after the soccer game (It's artificial turf, and squishy when wet). Umbrellas, big bags, contraband, outside food and drink aren't allowed in stadium. Bottle of water is $2, jumbo pretzels $3, and are outside the building, along with Dippin Dots. I didn't notice any prices for beer, wine, or soda. Majority of pub food (inside building) was about $6 (loaded ff, skins, etc.). The Riverhounds were all very nice, polite, gracious men. Though the game ended 0-0, not a single player did anything but smile, pose for photos, sign numerous autographs, chat briefly with fans. They showed true sportsmanship, and I look forward to their July 14 (7pm) game. Decent place to watch fireworks, if you sit up high in bleachers. read more

I try to make it to at least one Riverhounds game a year here at Highmark Stadium but I have to admit, it's mostly for the view. Highmark Stadium has a gorgeous view of downtown Pittsburgh and the Point across the Monongahela River and I love the open air field. It looks like you could walk across the field and across the river right into the golden triangle. Don't get me wrong, the Riverhounds get the crowd excited during home games. The supporters section is always rocking with die-hard fans. There is even a pub where if you're lucky you can get a seat along the window and have a few beers and food and still enjoy a great view of the game. It's easy to walk around the field, too. Opposite the stands is a standing room only area if you want to get away from the crowds. Thought even when there are a lot of people there it never really seems crowded like it can at other sporting events. My only real complaint is the stands themselves. They're kind of like bleachers, kind of not...and when everyone is on their feet or moving around it feels a bit unsteady. Tickets can vary in price (I think depending on the opponent) but I don't think I've ever paid more than $20 for a ticket. Plus I gotta respect the Riverhounds and how closely they work with the soccer youth in our community. read more

I went to see a Riverhounds game at the Highmark and had a great time. The only problem: I couldn't find much information on the stadium before I arrived. Here's what I know now! There's PLENTY of parking near the stadium, both surface level and in the parking garage connected to the hotel. Park on the surface lots. You have to pay at a station in the garage on the way out. When everyone leaves the stadium, that line can get long (although it does move fast). I purchased a Club Level seat. I had no idea what that meant! I'm glad I did, though. You have a large, air conditioned space that you share with everyone who bought CL tickets. There is LOTS of free food. The night I attended: tacos, burritos, and various noshes plus a big dessert bar. You have bar service in the club. If you want to see the game, you have to stand outside on the small terrace. (There were television in the club level but they didn't have a feed.) There is $1 beers until an hour before the game, I believe. (I forgot exactly how long before.) I arrived early so I could see the stadium and ended up chatting with folks on the big patio area. I had no idea where I was supposed to go in and how to get to the club level. I asked--and everyone was incredibly nice. One attendant walked me back to the elevator. The gift shop is SUPER small. Don't go there during halftime. You can't move and everyone is top of each other. Go before or during the game! I can't wait to get back! read more

This place is great! Seen my first professional soccer game the Hounds didn't win but they did tie Tampa but I do think they should have beat them pretty handedly whatever I'll take it. The stadium is right on the river with amazing views of the city back drop behind the game. And hey they have $1 beers before kick off which is amazing for a pro game of any sort and even $5 24oz beers crazy I was just at PNC weeks ago paying $11. I will definitely go back they have many food options around the stadium too in station square but they had many options there too. Go Hounds!! read more

We had a blast at our first Riverhounds game - which happened to be opening night. For being one of the first 2,000 in, we got a cool commemorative scarf as well. We sat in the middle section not knowing if we'd have view issues in the cheaper seats- but when I head back I wouldn't mind sitting further to one side. It wouldn't be hard to see the whole field even if you weren't in the middle. I wasn't sure if they sold beer there- which would have been a buzzkill if they didn't (pun intended). They DO. Penn Brewery even sells a craft made for the team there. "Golden Hound Ale". Pretty tasty. They also have your run of the mill stadium food. Pretzels, hot dogs, nachos, nothing special from what I saw. I'd say you can't beat the view, but all of the stadiums boast a pretty nice scene of PGH- but Highmark Stadium was no exception. It's so cool to watch a game with highway traffic zooming by at the same time. Parking was $7 for the game which wasn't bad, and there was ample space. Getting in and out wasn't bad either. Who knew Pittsburgh had a professional soccer team? The Riverhounds. Apparently, since their inception they played at a high school field where they drew an average of 400 people per game. The Pittsburgh Passion (Ladies Professional Football League) will also play their home games there. Pittsburgh's newest Stadium seats 2500 for games and an estimated 4500 for concerts. Reminiscent of a small town minor league field, Highmark Stadium comes with a beautiful view of downtown Pittsburgh. It opened in November and played host to an ice skating rink. The new soccer stadium will also play host to concerts and other non sporting events. Pittsburgh can now boast of three professional stadiums on the river banks. read more

This is the first and last time I will ever step foot in this place. Went to see Toby Keith concert, seating is awful I sat through the whole concert with the seat in front of me cutting into my knees thanks to the guy in front of me. It was dark that I almost feel down the steps, need some kind of lighting. Nobody knew how to get to the seating, a boy that was I guess supposedly working there was too busy on his cell to help us. I have cancer and can't walk a great distance without getting out of breath, needless to say I had an awful time and I love Toby Keith. read more

My wife and I usually make it to a Riverhounds game a couple of times a year. The Riverhounds are an amazing team. In the past we have had no trouble getting into the stadium. This year the restrictions for bags have apparently changed, and we were unaware. That would have been fine. We could go back to the car and put my wife's purse in the trunk and come back. What ruined the experience is how this was handled by the security staff. We approached the entrance where two security guards were screening people. The guard on the right rushed up to my wife and loudly said, "You can't bring that in here! You can't bring that in here!", and blocked her from going forward. He wasn't pointing at anything so she was confused about what he was talking about. The guard on the left said her purse was too big and pointed at a grey sign outside the entrance that we had completely missed. He explained the purse couldn't be bigger than his hand. He then said that she should hide it in one of the bushes around the stadium and come back and she could get in. She looked at him and told him that wasn't an option and we walked back to our car. It was ridiculous. One of the guards could have just politely explained the bag rule that was currently in place, and it would have been a positive experience. Instead, one completely overreacts that a short lady has walked toward the security screening area with a ~8"x ~10" purse and the other tells her to set her purse down and leave it for the next passerby to steal. These individuals clearly have not been trained. read more

It is a nice stadium and has an excellent view. The view, however, is not as great as PNC Park but definitely worth noting. It is also the home of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds.
