There's a reason why PNC Park was voted one of the best ballparks in America. The views from any seat in the stadium amazing. You get gorgeous views of Pittsburgh and beautiful fireworks for home runs and wins. We have been there for games and lots of concerts. Any seat in the house is a good seat for either type of event. The big screen is huge and the sound is fantastic. It's also easy to get to the top with escalators and elevators. There are also great concessions throughout all the park whether you want food or beer. They have concessions on all levels with American and local specialties. The people who work there are very nice, helpful and accommodating. read more

I always enjoy coming to PNC Park, and this visit was a little different for me since I usually sit in club seats but had tickets in Section 332 this time. The line to get in was definitely long, but once we made it through security, it was such a nice surprise that everyone received a bobblehead. That was a huge improvement compared to the Pittsburgh Pirates Mac Miller bobblehead night, where I didn't receive one even with club tickets. The seats in Section 332 were great--easy to access and offered a really good view of the game. Even with the rain delay, the park handled things pretty well overall. The only downside was the ground level area, which got very crowded and a bit difficult to move through, but that's to be expected with weather delays and big crowds. I usually make it to a game about once a week during the summer, and experiences like this are exactly why I keep coming back. Always a fun time at the ballpark! read more

I have been a visitor of PNC Park off and on for about 12 years, but somehow I did not have a previous Yelp review for it... PNC Park opened in 2001 and is the home of the Pittsburgh Pirates baseball team. I have attended a couple of Pirates games here (I should attend more!), and I have enjoyed the beautiful views of the Allegheny River and city skyscrapers and not quite as much the losing performance of the Pirates... Most recently my husband's company held a holiday party in the Pittsburgh Baseball Club (PBC/C) Level, an indoor climate-controlled concourse. We had access to three private bars--Wigle Whiskey, Wigle Reserve, and City of Champions Bourbon--as well as concession stands--Il Forno Pizza, Bierbauer's Grill, Tenders Love Chicken, Bridges Burger Company, and a pasta station. The level also included lounge areas, pool tables, etcetera. We enjoyed eating the Rudolph's Spritzer (limoncello, vodka, cranberry juice, and Sprite), cheese and pepperoni pizza, nachos (which came in a cute mini Pirates hat!), chicken and vegan tenders with fries (the vegan tenders actually tasted decent), and sugar and toffee cookies. However, the made-to-order tortellini with vodka sauce and bacon was extremely oily, so we ate little of it. The employees spoke nicely with us, and I got to pose with The Pirate Parrot and the Pirate Pierogi Jalapeño Hannah. This company party also included a brief tour of the stadium. I recently went back to PNC park for a Pirates game. At this point, you are visiting the park for the insane views. The Pirates are....the Pirates. per usual, PNC park has a variety of food and drink options, so there's something for everyone. There's a good mix of sitting and standing areas throughout the park in case you don't want to sit at your ticketed seat. Prices are about average. But, go for the views! The ballpark knows how to put on a fantastic in-game experience! We came for Roberto Clemente Day, and the energy was upbeat and amazing. The view of the skyline and bridge cannot be beat. Stadium 25/30. Finally got a chance to make it to PNC Park. What a BEAUTIFUL park! One of my new favorites...definite top 5, probably top 3. Met up with a friend that we grew up with for the game. Bought tickets on a resale seller about an hour before the game and we got tickets right behind home plate, with $5.00 concession credits on each ticket, for only $15.00 each! SCORE! As soon as we sat down, Ohtani hit his 100th Dodger HR. Pretty cool to see, live. The view from your seats of the skyline of Pittsburgh is unmatched in baseball stadiums. Its such a perfect view and vibe! Pirates beat the Dodgers which was awesome! Got to walk around the whole park and take pictures and see the statues outside the gates etc. Had a great night with an old friend and my Brother and will definitely try to attend more games here in the future! read more

PNC Park has to be one of the best parks in MLB. The setting is phenomenal... next to the river. However, parking, especially handicapped parking is still a nightmare. Some of the staff were not the most helpful, and the food and drink prices are ridiculously high. I don't think venues understand that they could sell more at lower prices. If prices were fair our whole group would have eaten, instead no one did. Additionally, the 50/50 folks never came around to the handicapped section we were in, and that's not right. This park needs to do more to earn a better rating. read more

We came into PGH to take in a game on the bucket list to see a game in every MLB park and this was my 4th this summer. The city shuts down traffic on block next to the stadium to create a great space with the bars to hang out and roam. I will say I was super impressed with our seats in section 212 row A seat 1-3. I had no idea i had bought club level seats. This section of seats had private interior club space for eating with tables and food options as well as outside standing tables as well. I don't think you can get a better view in all of sports - looking right out onto the river with the bridges and skyline framing the view from home plate. The experience was pretty cool - great status and retired number displays outside the ballpark, and plenty of cool spots inside the park as well. The food was a little underwhelming, but that's fine. Lots of cool things for kids to do before the game around the concourse which was great to see. A must visit stadium for any baseball fan! read more

After my mom died unexpectedly last year I wanted to get my dad a really good Father's Day gift this year. He loves baseball and our hometown Detroit Tigers and I figured he expected me to take him to a game like last year. Well, I had to one up that. I saw we had a whole series against the Pirates at Comerica Park the week after Father's Day and I thought what about a whole SERIES. Then I thought what about a whole series... on the road?? I figured we probably played in Pittsburgh as well and I did consider a couple other cities - Cleveland and Chicago but ultimately decided to book a trip to Pittsburgh largely because PNC Park is so highly regarded. I'd probably been more likely to choose the Windy City if the Tigers were playing at Wrigley instead of Rate Field. (Sorry, Eric S!) At any rate we had a great time in western Pennsylvania despite the first place Tigers spiraling into a horrific losing streak and dropping all 3 games to the last place Pirates. So I got a dugout full of Pittsburgh reviews on deck and what better to lead off than PNC Park. My experience with big league ballparks is very limited. Just the two we've had in Detroit during my lifetime and the old Exhibition Stadium in Toronto, a football stadium that had no business masquerading as a place to play baseball. PNC Park easily bests two of those three and Tiger Stadium, with all its poles but rowdy intimate atmosphere probably only tops PNC Park for sentimental reasons. Comerica Park gives a great view of a decent slice of the downtown Detroit skyline. PNC Park gives you the whole Pittsburgh pie. Not only glimmering highrises but the Roberto Clemente bridge and the Allegheny River and even pockets of trees in the mountainous city backdrop if you're sitting in the upper deck behind home plate like we did for the first game when Paul Skenes cleaned our clocks. PNC Park has that neo traditional ballpark look down pat. And they didn't go overboard with pirate themed details like the designers of Comerica Park did with tigers. Save that stuff for the mascot, the fans and the scoreboard. The 3 cannons firing graphic after visiting strikeouts was pretty slick even if I quickly got wary of it. Parts of the concourse look like your average stadium and parts look like a modern carpeted mall with bars, furniture pool tables to give people options for chilling if the Pirates are living down to expectations. Lots of fun paintings and prints of Pirates greats of the past are scattered throughout as well. I especially liked the Willie Stargell done Andy Warhol style. (Warhol is a Pittsburgh native soon to appear in this Yelp account.) Food and beverage was standard overpriced stadium fare, cashless only as I grudgingly figure all ballparks are now. They'll let you bring water in if you don't crack the bottle and we hit up a vendor near the shores of the Allegheny for two games. Game two we sat in the lower deck along the left field foul line and game three behind the Tigers dugout on the first baseline. All great views, both of the action on the field and the cosmopolitan Appalachian backdrop. (Yes, I'm calling it that; I hope I coined a new phrase.) Like I said the Tigers got swept and we saw lots of other Detroit fans subject to the same disappointment as us. The park never came close to selling out but I did feel for the Pirates fans getting a break from a typically brutal season and they were very gracious to us. I'd say don't bother trying to park on the north shore. It goes quick and walking across the Roberto Clemente bridge is a great tradition. You get to pass the Clemente statue and maybe Stargell, too depending on what gate you enter. My elderly dad lost his keys during the last game and we didn't confirm this til we had driven halfway out of town but a call to the lost and found convinced me to turn around. They saved the day by handing dad his keys back which removed any doubt for how many stars this park will get. I wouldn't mind checking out some more MLB ballparks but no matter how many I can get to I'm confident this will remain right near the top of the list. read more

Happy to say these past 2 games for Buc's Luau brought the review up to a 5... We returned (4 plus hour drive) specifically for the giveaways, and there was no chaos as the crowd was here for the game and not for the Mac Miller bobble head. Awesome navigating through the stadium and this time enjoyed the park and got to take it in... *huge thank you to the Pirates for offering giveaway shirt sizes in Small-- something that I could actually wear ( and did) *awesome and friendly ushers, and again thanks to the organization for showing baseball etiquette on the Jumbotron and hand held signs so real fans like us can enjoy the games *mahalo for real Polynesian entertainment yesterday at the block party and on the field pregame *missed Ball Girl Haley while she was on vacation, but yay to BG Sarah for her great fielding **great variety in team shops *great pirate themed play structure, bridge play structure, sir brushed tattoos etc! What a beautiful ballpark! Truly, Pittsburgh has a lot to be proud of when it comes to the ballpark itself because the team certainly isn't doing much to bring a sense of pride to the city. I'm going to rank PNC as my second favorite park in the country, second only to my beloved Petco in San Diego. The entrance to this park is unlike anything else. You walk in through the stunning Roberto Clemente bridge and it's an epic walk that makes you feel like a soldier going to war. Crossing the river and up to the gates, even in the pouring rain this was an awesome experience. When inside you'll find some stellar vendors and some great bars that you can bounce around to if you don't want to sit in your seats the entire time - that's how I like to watch a game. Food/drink are on the cheaper side of things when it comes to ballpark goodies and the fans, for the most part are very nice... except for a few absolute a$$holes a few rows behind us Padres fans. I'm on a quest to see all 30 ball parks in the MLB and this is ballpark number 23 for me. This is also in my top three favorite ball parks. Everything about PNC Park is beautiful. The fans, the skyline, and the city of Pittsburgh. I wanted to sit up high so we could get a good view of the skyline. It was even more spectacular than I thought. Normally I'm one to walk around and take all the sites but this time I mainly stayed in my seat and enjoyed a beautiful spring day at the ballpark. It's impressive how loyal Pirates fans are and they show it by coming out to support their team. They're also friendly and welcoming to visitors too. "Yes, I am a pirate, two hundred years too late The cannons don't thunder, there's nothin' to plunder I'm an over-forty victim of fate" (Jimmy Buffett) On our way home from Michigan, we made plans to stop in Pittsburgh and catch a Pirates game. We arrived before the ticket office opened, but that gave us plenty of time to walk around the area. The park is beautiful, and I love the way the Pirates honor their past heroes with huge statues and displays of their retired numbers outside the stadium. The ballpark is bordered by the Allegheny River, a pretty Riverwalk, and bright yellow bridges - the Andy Warhol and Roberto Clemente Bridge among others. There are saloons and restaurants everywhere, and to tell you the truth, the area is gorgeous. The weather promised to be better on Friday Aug 2 than it would be on Saturday Aug 3, so when the box office opened, we picked up two tickets for Friday. One very nice experience we had while waiting in line was chatting with a Pirates staff member who was picking up tickets from the "will call" window. She was super nice and gave us some great information about the park and its best seats. We ended up with two seats in Section 123 behind the third base dugout (a recommendation from our new friend). We were in the lower tier and had very good seats for $56 each. The Pirates played the Arizona Diamondbacks, and the game started terribly for the Pirates as Arizona scored five in the first inning. But Pittsburgh battled back before eventually losing 9-8. Our seats were very comfortable, our sightlines were excellent, and the entire experience was very entertaining. read more

My 24th MLB stadium. I know everyone loves PNC Park, but I don't think I'd rate it my top ballpark but it's definitely in the Top 10. Great views of the city from the 3rd base side, great atmosphere, great firework show. I would have preferred to be there in cooler weather, we ended up being there when they were on an extreme heat warning. Was only able to easy find water refills stations on upper deck, struggled on the lower - the one I found was giving warm water out. Food offerings aren't necessarily anything to write home about. The pierogi's were interesting to try and filling. Wanted to try their Pitts hotdog but didn't want to walk over to it! Had an ice cream helmet instead which included a toppings for free. One set of our tickets included a $5 concession credit which was cool. No hidden gems to go check out at the stadium. There are more statues outside the stadium and along the river. Took the ferry to the stadium one day which was fun. As well as the experience of walking over the Clemente Bridge each day to the stadium is pretty cool as well and they close the bridge to pedestrian only too. They only have physical first time certificates, no digital, plus parrot mascot temp tattoos for the kids. Still had paper ticket scalpers outside the stadium too, which you don't see anymore. Lively area outside stadium too, had block parties for weekend games. read more

So when I had the chance to experience PNC Park, I was expecting an authentic Pittsburgh experience, and let me tell you, the stadium did not disappoint. The views of the city? Gorgeous. The energy of the crowd? Electric. But then, I made the fatal mistake of ordering a Philly Cheesesteak. Now, I thought, 'I'm in Pittsburgh, not Philly, but it's as close as I'm gonna get!' So, I went for it. What I received could only be described as a tragic joke: a dry, sad pile of bread and meat with a shocking dollop of cheese whiz. It wasn't so much a cheesesteak as it was an existential crisis between two slices of bread. Imagine chewing on disappointment, and you're somewhere close to my experience. I've had better cheesesteaks at a 7-Eleven hot dog roller. As a Giants fan, I've been spoiled by some of the best ballpark food in the country. This, my friends, was not it. A cheesesteak should never leave you questioning your life choices. But here we are. 3 stars for sheer force of will and decent fireworks caught in peripheral vision. read more

My boyfriend and I love to go to Pirates games and sit wayyy up high to catch a beautiful view of our lovely city and the entirety of the stadium. Getting into the park is always SUPER quick, as they've got plenty of staff to greet you in & check your ticket. Photos from this game were a rare sight to see, with a final score of 11-5 (surprising we got so many runs). My only frustration is the cost of food and drinks inside the stadium. Make sure to arrive with a full tummy and fully hydrated (that goes for alcohol too ) unless you're looking to drop at least $25 for one alcoholic beverage. I don't remember the exact prices of food items because I made sure to eat before, and I only know the alcohol prices due to my silly (& very generous) boyfriend paying for them. read more

To day she like all citizens of Pittsburgh are of their city and sports team would be understatement. I've seen passionate fan bases but Pittsburgh is a whole other level. PNC Park has amazing views from the dugout to the press boxes. Seeing where the players take batting practice inside the Park to where Roberto Clemente's quote is the last thing before players enter the field is incredible. Son and I saw a game here on July 3, 2024. We both agree this is one of the best baseball parks we've ever been to. The stadium is very open and has AWESOME views looking out toward the city. We went on $1 hot dog night, so that saved us a few dollars. Lots of concessions and gift shops surround the park. Easy to navigate around and truly not a bad seat in the house. We sat second row in the RF bleachers for $20 each ticket. Beautiful stadium, nice area around the stadium with lots of hotels, bars, and restaurants within walking distance. read more
