An unfamiliar number calls and instant regret, "I shouldn't have filled that form out" I think, "I'll just screen my calls like Destiny's Child." I never answer unfamiliar numbers, but for some reason I answered this call and I am so glad I did. Athene was on the other side of the call and she was so calming. I felt at ease. She asked me a few questions regarding we were at in our process and asked if my husband and I would be wiling to come in so she can walk us through how it all works etc... Now look again fellow yelpers, I lived in Burbank and she was in Santa Monica of all places. I DON'T CROSS the 405 for ANYONE. But for some reason, I felt like we should go. So we schlepped ourselves all the way over there on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon and met wonderful Athene. We told her we were interested in Culver City condos. She walked us through the process, started sending us properties, went to some showings with us. AND THEN I threw her for a fast one. I told her we wanted to move to South LA. For what we could get a condo for in Culver City, we could get a whole house near DTLA, YES PLS. I found a dream listing and Athene was on the case. I mean, I literally texted my mom, my husband and Athene, saying "this is my dream house". My heart was racing. It was in our price range, it checked all the boxes and it had an open house soon. Athene made sure to have us check out other homes in the area, which I am thankful for so we could best gauge our offer and what we were willing to negotiate. She was there EVERY step of the process. Always respectful of time. We texted, emailed, spoke on the phone whenever we could. I obviously did not know a lot of what the process looked like and she never made me feel dumb. We got our dream house, we closed in 21 days and we are so happy. Don't know what this buyer's remorse people talk about is? She also had really great recommendations for inspectors, contractors, lenders etc... And she stayed with me through the end, well after her job was done.
