Terrible customer service at times especially with and machines being down for weeks. The pricing jumped from $20 to 32 due to the sale being over in 2 months because I joined late. Not enough punching bags as one is not enough but nothing is done about it. Ill finish out my contract and make sure to cancel in person because it auto renews month after. People nice and respectful and due take the time to clean machines at times. They don't throw weights around or sit doing nothings for too long. I cant comment on the pool or lockers as I don't use them. I did mention the issues with the manager but it did nothing and offered excuses. She wouldn't honor the old price of $20.

On Mon/Wed/Fri they focus on cardio, and Tue/Thur is dedicated to strength training. The staff is really nice and friendly. Not to mention, they're ALL hella ripped #bodygoals. This gym is clean and they provide cold towels after a hard core work out. I'm always drenched in sweat at the end. I love the environment here - everyone wants you to get better. When you walk in, you step into a gym that removes you from all of the distractions of life and you can just do work. The music is pumping, you're greeted on a first name basis, the gym is clean and set up perfectly for the upcoming workout. You really can't help but push yourself to do your absolute best when you're there. Every workout is set up for a group personal training class, but Sam and Danny both have the ability to pay attention to every person in the class to give everyone the attention they need. They recognize the different levels of fitness and exercise knowledge in each client, and accommodate accordingly. I have seen just about every age and body type in the gym with me. Sam and Danny are both educated fitness fanatics and their passion for what they do is apparent every time I see them. They are both focused and serious about what they do, but they keep it a ton of fun as well. I am a Mom of two small children (4 and almost 2) with a full time job and crazy hours. I had been an athlete for almost all my life but had a really hard time getting back to working out after having my youngest child. My diet had also changed significantly during and after that pregnancy. I had trained with Sam previously, back in 2009/2010, and absolutely loved his personal training style so I knew I had to give Alio a try. My husband and I went in for a tour and a free class, signed up, set our goals, had our measurements taken, and Danny set us up with a personally tailored nutrition plan that he modified every 2 weeks (he still modifies it). Within two weeks (6 sessions) I already felt like I was returning to my old self...fit and healthy. During my first six weeks, I lost 8 pounds (144 lbs to 136 lbs) and a little over 5% body fat. This was with going to Alio only 3-4 times per week (no additional working out) and following my diet exactly as prescribed. My clothes fit better, I feel better, I ALWAYS make sure I make time for my workouts because I love going to this gym. I am not a morning person at all and I get up at 445 am to get to the 530 am workout if it's my only option because this has become something that I NEED. I absolutely cannot recommend Alio highly enough. I'm addicted.

At Gold's Gym, I meandered from machine to machine, half-heartedly gave the treadmill a go and looked over at the free weights section like it was the boss fight that I wasn't leveled up enough to attempt. I would lose a pound here and there but it was all just so.. boring. Alio doesn't do boring. Every day there's a new circuit that works a different set of muscles than the previous day. Add in the music and lighting and Alio makes Gold's look like the Wal-Mart of gyms. Danny and Sam are amazing trainers. Don't know what the heck a sumo squat pulse is? They're there to demonstrate and watch your form to prevent tweaks. Not sure what weight you should use for a single arm kettlebell swing? They're there to help you figure out what'll work for you. On the other end, if you're someone who loves a challenge, they are ready (and willing!) to make a circuit harder for you like adding in extra cardio and/or going up on the weights/reps. The best part of Alio Fitness Club? Results! I've personally witnessed many people get in shape here ranging from people whose goal was weight loss to others who put on serious muscle, it's always inspiring. As for myself, Alio has turned me into quite the flex-addict.. If you want gym results but dread the monotony of #gymlife, try out Alio Fitness Club!

We went over everything that had transpired, since the previous Friday, and she apologized for her massively misinformed staff, regarding the membership agreement, and their lack of compassion. She confirmed that clients have 3 business days to cancel an agreement, and Sunday is not considered as a business day. She cancelled the membership that I erroneously signed up for. What I can say now, is 1) Lori Ann Garcia-Alvarado does in fact care about protecting people and the franchise, 2) She is well informed and compassionate, 3) Don't back down when you know you are being wronged, there are good informed people who will help you, like Lori Ann. I very much appreciate the time she took to call and email me almost immediately after she received my email, rectify the situation, and discuss the wrong doings with her staff. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU! On Friday, 02/28/2026, I received a text from HOTWORX with the option to sign up for $1 to activate "your SPRING BODY" and replied $1, to activate my membership. On Saturday, 03/01/2026, I received another text telling me to login and sign the agreement, which I did. As soon as I went into the app, I realized that I erroneously signed up for the wrong location, which is 7010 W Loop 1604 Ste 105, San Antonio, TX 78254 Ph 210-866-9600, and is in a different city than where I live (41 miles away and a 1 hour drive). I had also cancelled a membership with that same location 3 years ago because of the move. As soon as I realized my error, on Saturday 03/01/2026, I immediately called the San Antonio Alamo Ranch location, 210-866-9600, to get help with cancelling the contract that I signed in error just moments earlier. The staff was unavailable when I called, at 3:43 p.m. CST, so I left a voice message explaining the issue, gave my phone # and name, and asked for help in cancelling that location - which I still have not received a return call from. My intention was to join the HOTWORX location near me, which is 2188 TX-46 Suite 108, New Braunfels, TX 78132 Phone 830-310-4424. The Alamo Ranch location in San Antonio has me set up on a plan to use any location, "Sweat Elite" I believe, however, that plan is currently not in by budget which is why I attempted to cancel immediately. I am the caregiver for my elderly father, a Military Veteran who lives with my husband and I, as he has prostate and liver cancer. This is not a sob-story, it is the truth. I thought I had joined my local location, to relieve stress when I am not having to take him to chemo treatments or tend to his medical needs. Now, today, I am more financially and emotionally stressed than I was before Friday. I called the Alamo Ranch location in San Antonio again today, Tuesday 03/03/2026, and while speaking with "Betsy" and the General Manager "Z", I was spoken down to and received a belittling response and absolutely no grace, care, assistance, or understanding with my error and financial concern. The response was cold and belittling "You get no grace and can pay $99 today if you want to cancel."...when I only made the error 3 days ago. I sent this same message to the Alamo Ranch franchise owner via their website and have attempted to contact corporate via email...BEGGING for grace and the assistance that I was seeking since Saturday, when I realized the error that I had made.

That also helps if you need motivation to keep attending. First class starts at 5 am which gives you more than enough time to go back home and get ready for work. They don't have showers. Warnings - the trainer might not show up on time for the 5 am class. They don't offer childcare. Weigh-ins are only on Wednesdays. It's these warnings that make me only give a 3 star but I had a membership at Tri-point and now that I'm here I'll never go back. I have had the best results at Results ;)
