UPDATE: On Wednesday, 3/4/26, I received a phone call from Lori Ann Garcia-Alvarado, Manager for the Bandera Rd location. We went over everything that had transpired, since the previous Friday, and she apologized for her massively misinformed staff, regarding the membership agreement, and their lack of compassion. She confirmed that clients have 3 business days to cancel an agreement, and Sunday is not considered as a business day. She cancelled the membership that I erroneously signed up for. What I can say now, is 1) Lori Ann Garcia-Alvarado does in fact care about protecting people and the franchise, 2) She is well informed and compassionate, 3) Don't back down when you know you are being wronged, there are good informed people who will help you, like Lori Ann. I very much appreciate the time she took to call and email me almost immediately after she received my email, rectify the situation, and discuss the wrong doings with her staff. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU! On Friday, 02/28/2026, I received a text from HOTWORX with the option to sign up for $1 to activate "your SPRING BODY" and replied $1, to activate my membership. On Saturday, 03/01/2026, I received another text telling me to login and sign the agreement, which I did. As soon as I went into the app, I realized that I erroneously signed up for the wrong location, which is 7010 W Loop 1604 Ste 105, San Antonio, TX 78254 Ph 210-866-9600, and is in a different city than where I live (41 miles away and a 1 hour drive). I had also cancelled a membership with that same location 3 years ago because of the move. As soon as I realized my error, on Saturday 03/01/2026, I immediately called the San Antonio Alamo Ranch location, 210-866-9600, to get help with cancelling the contract that I signed in error just moments earlier. The staff was unavailable when I called, at 3:43 p.m. CST, so I left a voice message explaining the issue, gave my phone # and name, and asked for help in cancelling that location - which I still have not received a return call from. My intention was to join the HOTWORX location near me, which is 2188 TX-46 Suite 108, New Braunfels, TX 78132 Phone 830-310-4424. The Alamo Ranch location in San Antonio has me set up on a plan to use any location, "Sweat Elite" I believe, however, that plan is currently not in by budget which is why I attempted to cancel immediately. I am the caregiver for my elderly father, a Military Veteran who lives with my husband and I, as he has prostate and liver cancer. This is not a sob-story, it is the truth. I thought I had joined my local location, to relieve stress when I am not having to take him to chemo treatments or tend to his medical needs. Now, today, I am more financially and emotionally stressed than I was before Friday. I called the Alamo Ranch location in San Antonio again today, Tuesday 03/03/2026, and while speaking with "Betsy" and the General Manager "Z", I was spoken down to and received a belittling response and absolutely no grace, care, assistance, or understanding with my error and financial concern. The response was cold and belittling "You get no grace and can pay $99 today if you want to cancel."...when I only made the error 3 days ago. I sent this same message to the Alamo Ranch franchise owner via their website and have attempted to contact corporate via email...BEGGING for grace and the assistance that I was seeking since Saturday, when I realized the error that I had made. read more

I am livid, this is the worst studio EVER!!! I have been apart of golds gym, anytime, orange theory, you name it. This has by far been the biggest headache!!! I saw someone say that getting out of this membership is harder than getting out of the mafia, and it's 100% true. At some point we'll all have to cancel. Keep that in mind when signing up. They don't care about you, they care about making money regardless of what anyone says, or whether these policies are based on the franchise or single owner. They knew how much of a scam it was when they invested, so they should know they'll always have customers that will feel cheated. Last year I excitedly signed up and had a great time, then found out just a few months after that I was pregnant. I had a very high risk pregnancy & was put on best rest until delivery. The studio, of course like everyone else, refused to make exceptions to be able to cancel over the phone or online, even with my diagnosis and valid doctor's notes. After my mom also had the worst time with cancelling, she finally was able to terminate her account as well so we could both be done with this place. I just delivered my daughter & never gave this a thought again because I was on my mom's plan that was cancelled, and it turns out they started charging one of my family members accounts & has been charging $9 since last year! (If you are on a family plan, they WILL trap you into paying all payments for anyone else). I finally gave up & called & said I would just go in since I'm not pregnant anymore. The lady on the phone said that they couldn't cancel, only the manager could but she would be off for the next 3 days & to come in Monday. I had to haul my whole family in the car & head to the studio. I called at least 10 times on the way (this is DURING their fully staffed hours) and got no answer, and finally arriving (DURING the time the lady said the manager would be there) just for no one to answer the door. It's like this studio is playing hide & seek just to cancel! For it to take weeks just to cancel is a joke. Shame on this place, seriously. read more

My wife went in to cancel her membership and was told that she could not cancel it unless the GM was onsite and that the GM wouldn't be available for another week. What kind of operation are you running where there is someone onsite but they are unable to process a cancellation or even initiate the process? I'm sure if I had wanted to signup for an additional membership she could have done that quickly but can't serve the customer when they want to leave. These kind of policies are in place to make it difficult for members to cancel so that they can keep running your card each month or so that particular person can sell you on the idea of staying at the gym. I'm a Sweat Anywhere member and this is my "home" location. It's busier than most other locations but most of the other patrons are very friendly and welcoming. It's kept in good condition and the staff is not only helpful, but personable. They know me and others by name, which is a nice touch. Missing parts of "warrior kit" was told I would get a text when they came in, 2 weeks later I still didn't receive. I was told a 90 day minimum commitment time with 60 day notice. So it's 5 months minimum time.. not able to put in notice until 90 days has passes. When I tried to cancel the girl told me "you have to give it 90 days to even see results" I wasn't quitting because I'm not seeing results," was putting in my notice because when it's 105 degrees outside in July, I won't want to workout in 120 degree sauna. $250 start up fee and equipment purchase, because you have to use theirs. I have never in my life been so eager to workout except when I became a member at HOTWORX! I've been coming every single day since I joined, and I'm a mom of 5, and still commit to making the time to come.....that's how much I enjoy these workouts. What a joke , the management are hard to reach and you can not cancel your membership at any location, you have to cancel at the location you joined up at , and when my wife cancelled they stated they will be taking out 2 additional payments of 90 a payment.... I have attempted for 2 years to cancel this membership. I called several times saying that I am not living in this city and they said that I would still need to come into studio to cancel. Over the weekend I was able to come into town & went by to cancel on Saturday. I was told then that the only way I could cancel is by appointment and asked if I was available Monday. I said no this is my only time I could come by & would be leaving town Sunday. I was told I could not cancel. This is absolute robbery at this point & unprofessional behavior to not be able to even put in my 60 day notice for cancellation regardless of calling & even coming into the studio IN PERSON & being turned away. I have never experienced this poor of customer service & highly recommend to anyone thinking of signing up to look elsewhere. I must say the routines are a bit dull and repetitive, but they align with the promise made when I joined. My low rating is due to the manager's poor attitude when I tried to cancel my subscription. She spent over 10 minutes insisting on the payment according to policies, without asking why I was leaving or if I had plans to return. So I joined Hotworx Alamo Ranch in December because I was looking for hot yoga classes and tbh i am in love!!! I can only speak for this location, but the manager and staff are friendly and personable. They know each member by name and greet everyone who comes in the door. 24 hr virtual classes, different options from 45-min hot barre to 15-min hot cycling, small gym area w weights, and a bathroom w a shower. I would say the only thing to keep in mind is that you are required to buy ALL personal equipment used in saunas from them. For full pricing transparency, I paid a one-time $107 initial enrollment fee, $79 monthly fee to use any Hotworx location in the US, and $275 for the following: Hotworx yoga bag, yoga mat, yoga mat towel, rowing gloves, yoga mat sanitizer, 8 large- and small-loop resistance bands (ranging from light to heavy), and resistance band pads. The personal equipment needed is dependent on the class. For example, the rowing gloves are essential for the 15-min HIIT rowing class called Hot Thunder. Hot Buns, one of the 45-min iso classes, requires one small- and one large-loop band. I definitely recommend buying it all at once when you register because there is a small discount and you will eventually want to try each class because why not?!?? While I enjoyed my time at Alamo Ranch, the cancellation process has been nothing but a nightmare. The policies to cancel were unclear and due to staff error, I'm on the hook for money coming out of my account that should have been cancelled. My husband was added by me, he never spoke to a single staff person. When I told them we were moving out of state, and asked if there was anything he needed to do, I was told no, my entire account was cancelled. But that was a lie. There is nothing in the contact about having to cancel people underneath your account. There is nothing in the cancellation paperwork that says your entire account has been cancelled. They will not work with you on this. You cannot reach the owners to discuss, only the staff who cannot find your account, nor the bank account they charge MONTHLY without you providing your bank statements. So, moral of the story, don't add anyone to your account, then believe them when they say your entire account has been cancelled, because it has not been. read more

There is no military clause, do not become a member here if you want to avoid a bunch of extra fees. So disappointed that they dont respect their military enough to honor military orders. If I could rate 0 stars I would. I thought this was a cool concept although extremely pricey. Unless you just have money to throw out and really enjoy saunas then it isn't worth it. They conveniently left out the fact canceling your membership is more money than the monthly fee and you have to submit 60 days in advance and even freezing the account costs money every month. No returns on anything, which they don't tell you until AFTER you pay for something and no exchanges if the item you bought doesn't fit. This place is a joke and a scam. read more

The faculty is not clean and the saunas have an odor. The videos are the same for months on end which in turn makes the work out rather boring and repetitive. You are paying to work out in a sauna with someone on a screen talking to you. Staff is not friendly and does not acknowledge you. Be careful with cancellation policy. It is all a scam. I have tried to cancel my membership for over 8 months after not using it because I moved. Not only do they charge you for 3 months upfront but they also cut your access once you pay. The manager is extremely unprofessional and not helpful at all. I will never recommend anyone to use this facility much less will I ever go back to this company. If I could give a 100 star rating I would! I joined in March 2024. I was hesitant for about 3 years due to my lack of confidence, embarrassment, lack of energy and not being in a good head space. From my first initial free workout session I knew this was what I needed to get me started on my weight loss journey and determination to make exercise a part of my lifestyle. The GM is passionate about her profession and even shared her weight loss testimony! She cares about you as a person and ensures that you have the best workout experience here. I am eager to workout in the infrared saunas daily and it brightens my day when I walk in and greeted by the staff by my name and taking the time out of their busy day to chat with me. I love this place so much. This is the place where I can come and de-stress!!!! I have been coming since they opened here at the Alamo Ranch location. Love that it is a 24/7 studio-and I can sign up easily for any class. I enjoy talking to the staff-they are super friendly and helpful. I am 50 and do all types of workouts-but the hotworx sessions are my favorite. I not only sweat and feel stronger after my sessions, but I also feel a great recovery and the heat helps so much with my muscle soreness. When I injured my calf(doing muay-thai)-I was still able to come here and workout-sweat-burn calories-and being in the the infrared heat along with the stretches and foam rolling-my calf was healed in no time. I enjoy the classes if any available, of course that's if there isn't 3 people in a small hot room breathing on each other. Especially with our new norm due to COVID doesn't seem very safe. I usually don't mind it if it's just one other person. Rooms are so small, can never get a answer and when you leave VM they don't call back. I asked to have the manager call me back and expressed how upset I was (2 days no call back) and had the manager text me instead right away then doesn't answer my text. When you try and leave they suggest pausing the membership but with a monthly fee but I'm done with them and can't wait to end my membership at the end of the month. read more

I love this gym! The saunas and weight area reservations let you have some privacy while working out. There is a variety of classes that are changed to try different instructors to avoid boredom. The staff is amazing and polite which makes time there even more enjoyable. read more

The rating is in regards to the contract verbiage. I signed up for a 90 day membership and during contract signing it was stressed to give 60 days notice to cancel. When I went in to give my notice I was informed that I can only give the notice after the 90 days expired, and would have to pay an additional two months in membership fees. Or, I could cancel immediately for $99 and lose access immediately. The contract wording is not straightforward and I feel taken advantage of. The contract was for 90 days not 150! So buyer beware. Amd this gym is NOT REGISTERED to operate as such in the state. And know that if you are on the taller side, over 5'9", you'll not be able to properly or completely stretch and flex in the rooms that don't have bikes in them. read more
