Their slogan...No Judgement! That was my biggest fear as I join a gym for the first time. Feeling…read morelike I've gained a bit around the waist area, I decided that exercising at home didn't work for me anymore. I didn't know how I would feel but after my first day of working out, but I absolutely loved it. I was excited to learn the machines and what they can do for you. Don't compare yourself to others around you. Go at your own pace and slowly build yourself up when you feel comfortable. Since joining, I've already noticed a difference. I've gained more energy, better posture, my arms & legs are more tone and best of all, I'm slowly seeing that waistline I used to have in my 20s. The bicycles, ellipticals, stair climbers & treadmills are each spaced out allowing you to use them without anyone next to you. My least favorite is the stair climber as it's the hardest one for me and I don't enjoy it. But I will keep at it because I know it's going to do wonders for my glutes. Everyone I've seen using the equipments has been diligent in wiping down each machine before & after they are done. Huge tubs of wipes are available for use. The staff is friendly. Just the other day, the manager was nice enough to ask me how I was enjoying the gym. Temp checks are taken before you are allow to workout. I read that 67% of people who sign up for gym memberships go unused. As for me, I actually love working out and seeing the results pay off.

The equipment is well kept but you won't find quality machines, just the cookie cutter stuff. There's a few of everything useful including a couple of squat racks but they always seem to be taken by someone. I had higher hopes for this location but got tired of either waiting for equipment to free up or waiting for a trainer to sign me in (no one new how to update my membership number in my app so someone had to sign me in every time, unfortunately).

Do I go to retro anymore? Heck no. Why? Because once you step into the UFC gym, when you go back to Retro or Crunch, or Blink, and you say to yourself: What kind of 1 dimensional crap is this? From the moment you walk in there, the staff at the front desk, the managers, coaches, and even the gym members are really cool. They greet you even though they don't know you(be social and get to know them then). The place is kept sharp. I mean off the hook sharp. No matter what plan you go with, take advantage of every opportunity time permits to go because the place doesn't close! Yeah, you heard me right. Take classes. Whether you want to learn martial arts or just keep fit, push and test yourself. Try any class Everyone treats the place like family and there's a great aura. It's not a musclehead jock type ego filled gym. One word of caution: DO NOT LET THE WORD GYM FOOL YOU. UFC Gym is much more than that. It's your membership. Make the best of it. As for me, I've never felt more alive taking classes and meeting my fitness goals. 223 now and will be 200 and under by the end of the year. Don't ever want to leave either. GO FOR IT! TRAIN DIFFERENTLY!

I appreciate the smaller classes (compared to a regular gym) and the direction from the coaches when I do something incorrectly (which is common, because I'm uncoordinated and out of shape but working on it, LOL). It's like having a personal trainer without the added cost of a personal trainer. As someone who typically hates exercise, I look forward to my OT classes!

It kinda bugged me, so I decided to try a class on a whim. After that, I decided the only way to get myself right is to commit to this for at least a year. And that, I ended up doing. If you know a little about Orangetheory, it's really great for anyone in any shape. For me - a gym avoider - it's been good because the instructors really do help coach you. My form is absolutely terrible and I've been using OTF to learn everything from scratch. It was rough the first few gos, but it's been getting better day by day. This location is good as it's only about 10 mins or so away from my home. As someone who works from home all the time, I've taken advantage of both the morning and afternoon classes. I find the 8:15am class to be the perfect wake-up call to start the week. I then utilize the 12pm class mid-week for the specialized strength and tread classes. Works perfect for me as the strength class breaks up the cardio a little bit. I also added a Saturday AM class too. Bathrooms are nice and clean in here. Also, the front desk people are usually pretty nice. The instructors I've worked with - Justin, Boo, Brian, and Tansey - are super nice people too. Only thing is that Yelp ought to tweak the hours because it's not like there are classes every hour. But that's out of my control....

As healthy as I am, I was experiencing some hip pain every time I got out of bed. I read that women over 50 start losing a significant amount of bone mass. I decided to join Planet Fitness for strength training. Not sure why the low ratings for this location but it's a solid 5 for me. - the workers here always keep this place in tip-top shape. - everyone is very respectful of one another. - lockers and restrooms are spotless. - even when the gym is packed I am able to use all the machines in my workout rotation. Remember, fitness and good nutrition go hand in hand. I load up on protein during the weekday and my cheat days are for the weekends. No matter what your fitness goals are, it's never too late to join no matter how old you are. I want to be able to sprint up a flight of stairs easily when I am in my 60s and 70s. My 23 year old son encourages me to be in the best shape I can be. I look to him for inspiration. This location recently went through a renovation. They did an awesome job. #NaturalEndorphins

If you are new to this gym, you can do a 3 day free trial before committing to a full membership or buying a day/week pass. Since I'm on vacation back home for the holidays, I will only be getting a week pass ($25). For anyone who is not too sure of how often they will go to the gym or are in town for a short period of time, you can buy a day pass for $10. I ended up doing some running on the treadmill because it was raining. The treadmill was kind of old (the built in fan was dusty) and difficult to use (touchscreen was not super sensitive). However, there were staff everywhere ensuring that machines and equipment were clean. Probably just one of those machines that they invested in a few years ago and will be used until it falls apart. Will be curious to check out the other equipment they have in the upcoming days. Overall, pretty decent accommodations, ranging from a sauna in the locker rooms and beverages up front. There is also a theater in the back, but I'm not 100% sure what it is used for. They also hold group classes in a small room in the back corner. If it is not actively being used for a class, it's a great place to stretch for warm up and/or cool down.

Overall huge lack of communication and professionalism. Canceling my membership asap and can't say I would recommend this place to my friends.
