Pay $15 = 15 points). 2) When you are shopping online, you will get free shipping if you buy things that add up to $39 or more.

Obviously a change in staff, but the manager has been around for a long time and a couple staff members had stayed and have been amazing and funny! Seriously, I used to just hang out here as a kid because it's an art store, I'm an artist and the staff is great. It's a very clean store. They always have what I need and things I didn't know I needed. The prices are far superior to Michael's and better than Curry's. Plus the discounts are great and the rewards program is solid too. Oh and did I mention it's animal friendly? I can take my dog for walks in Petsmart and Deserres, Oh and also the customer bathroom is pretty cool. And free bags, who needs to pay a nickel for a bag? All in all, it's a great store. One of my favourite hangout spots, I can test my markers and pencils and all that and talk to awesome staff.

Kate was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I had to return later in the day to make an exchange where I met Linda who processed the return and purchase of a new item. Linda had excellent customer service skills, and even helped with better pricing on my purchase. She was engaging, positive and professional. Kate took back the product that did not work for us and directed me to a more appropriate product to suit my needs. We had just come from The Bay where the prices of trees were exorbitant. They had affordable options at different price ranges and options with pre-lit trees, flocked trees, and different sizes, although they didn't have any really large ones on display at the time. They had really cute lighting options as well that were all buy one get one free. They were smaller string lights of about 6-10 feet and featured different types of features on the actual bulbs like snowmen, reindeer, and Santa faceplates. They had really neat testers set up in store so you could press a button on a sample string of lights to see what they would look like. The batteries weren't included with these however. There were a ton of other decorations available that were ready to display or ones to customize.

Size-wise, this Homesense was not as impressive as the ones that I've been to at Bathurst/Centre (Thornhill) or even Vaughan Mills. It's on the smaller size, HOWEVER, the benefit is that it's waaay quieter than those other locations. Actually, it's probably even quieter than any Winners that I've been to! The location definitely has a part to play in that "been transported back in time" feeling. There's no sense of urgency or rush, just relaxation. I had a question about what was included in a package of bedding - it wasn't stated on the label - and the sales associate, who was doing something else at the time, actually went to another associate to find out for me. Who does that nowadays? If I were in the area, I wouldn't hesitate to stop here 'cause I don't like shopping in crowded places.

I'd argue that it's the perfect fit for the Clarkson community, as it accurately sums the sleepy, docile nature of the community. I ended up coming here to kill a few hours and get in on some late Boxing Day shopping after the New Year, and was extremely surprised to find that half the store was on clearance. I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that a good 40-50% of the goods on sale were either marked with tags or set up on "Clearance" endcaps, which was extremely amusing considering there was SO MUCH of it still on display. $2 packs of PUR gum, dirt-cheap Christmas and designer decorations, all sorts of weird food items for pennies on the dollar... makes the mind boggle with how much product is back there that they struggle to sell it all even with 80-90% discounts. One thing I'll definitely give the store credit for is that it's generally very quiet, the service is prompt, and you're generally bound to find something you want, whether it's a weird knick-knack or a book that interests you. In the end, we ended up buying a bunch of themed Christmas foods (including peppermint bark coffee liqueur and chocolate candy-cane shaped shortbread cookies), along with some odds and ends. I find I like visiting here every time in the area. Despite it's similar layout and product offerings as Winners (take out the men's/women's fashion and you have Homesense), the service and selection put it a cut above. Definitely a worthwhile anchor store in Clarkson Village Plaza.
