Made the drive over from Bellingham as I am working on several ribbon skirts to wear for pow wow season. This was my first time going there and I was SO impressed with not just the fabric choices but the different kits available, the embroidered patches, and the lovely ladies that helped me! I make many items every year, especially extra large infinity scarves in the Autumn to sell and I cannot wait to but fabric from here for those! So many beautiful and unique fabric designs! I stopped in at Fabrics Plus on an impromptu trip to Anacortes this week, and I must say I was impressed. I had expected your typical small "quilt shop" - with lots of cottons and batiks but not much else. But Fabrics Plus is much more than just a quilt shop; they are a full service, one-stop shop that could easily hold their own against any large chain fabric store. They not only have an amazing selection of quilting cottons (incuding some of the best theme fabrics I've ever seen - you name it, they probably have it), but their selection of other fabrics was impressive as well. For example, they had some of the most gorgeous flannels I've ever seen in one place - and not just baby flannels. In the back of the store are knits, upholstery, fleece, outdoor fabrics, furs, and more. And along the walls are every possible notion you could ever want; plus interfacing and all of the tools necessary to get your projects done. Perhaps most appealing to me, as a quilter, is their wide selection of precuts, including jellyrolls, layer cakes, and charm packs - plus some "grab and go" quilt kits. The service was also very friendly, and the prices were average (much lower than I would have expected). I will definitely make this place one of my regular stops when I'm visiting the fine city of Anacortes! read more

If you want a fabric with whales, they have iti, foxes, Sure right here. gingham, plaid, polka dots, terrific teals, pretty pinks, roaring reds. and that strange color of blue you just can't seem to find.... they have it. and batting, binding, ribbons, baby fabric, buttons, bows and bright ideas. even patterns. I was very pleasantly surprised when I visited Fabrics Plus in Anacortes! I live on Whidbey Island, so I was glad to find a fabric store close by instead of having to drive all the way over to Burlington. Fabrics Plus is right in the heart of downtown Anacortes. For a small store, it has a HUGE selection of fabrics! The ladies working there were helpful and friendly and I have no complaints about their customer service. Prices seemed to be about on par with the bigger chain type fabric stores. The only negative is that there is so much in such a small space that it is pretty cramped and could be difficult to get around (especially if you have a child in a stroller or if you are in a wheelchair or anything like that). Overall, I was happy with my experience, got what I needed, and will definitely be back whenever I need fabric again in the future! read more

This is shop that anytime we are in the area, I make a stop. There is lots of yummy looking fabric and can usually find what I am looking for. I have found the staff helpful and willing to make suggestions when asked. If I am looking for a specific piece of fabric, I will call to see if they may have that fabric in stock and will drive up if it is available. read more

I had a horrendous experience recently when I attempted to purchase fabric. I have a nose piercing and I had muted purple hair at the time. The owner all but turned me away after taking one very long, judgemental look at me. I absolutely will not return. read more

Stopped in to see what they had. Very nice selection of fabrics & supplies for sewing/quilting/cross stitch. The staff was very friendly & helpful. One young lady helped me pick a secondary fabric for a project I was waiting on. She really went out of her way. Very knowledgeable folks working in that store. I will be back as they had an excellent selection of Asian themed fabrics that were quite exquisite & I want to make a quilt for a friend in that theme. Only complaint is the building is old and smells musty and that transfers to the fabrics. I had to wash my purchase so I could complete the project. Otherwise, this store is quite good for their selection & their customer service was excellent. I think it might behoove them to put a dehumidifier in that store. read more

So I'm visiting from out of town and I stopped in this store with my 5 month old son and my mom. We were the only ones in there along with the 3 employees. My son started to get fussy. My mom came walking towards me and quickly said lets go. When I asked her what happened she said one of the employees made a comment to another about how they should shoot a rubber band at my son. Needless to say we walked out empty handed. What kind of sick person would even think to make a comment like that. They had a great selection and I actually found a lot of great stuff I was interested in buying but I will never spend a single penny at this place after hearing that. Horrible customer service!!!! I frequent this establishment on a regular basis; this is a fun outing for myself and a neighbor. Always someone to assist with picking out fabrics for any project or give me feedback on how to correctly sew any new pattern I want to try. They have helped me with my "math" when trying to decide how big to make pieces and put them together. The best part is taking out a pretty fabric and then finding there are more bolts hidden behind.....they selection just keeps coming and coming. read more

Fabrics plus has a selection you won't believe for a store this size - some fabric bolts are stacked two deep so be sure to look behind the first row of bolts! The staff is fun, friendly and always helpful, and knows its stock really well and can help you find anything they have. They also have a great selection of notions and tools.
