I've been visiting this place for years and always enjoyed the live music, but the current staff…read more(two young girls and a curly-haired guy) is horrible. I was out alone that night and asked them to keep my drink behind the counter for a bit because I didn't want to leave it unattended for safety reasons while I stepped outside to smoke. When I came back, they couldn't find the drink, so I asked for another one at their expense, since it wasn't my fault they had lost it. Instead of handling the situation like proper human beings, they turned it into a huge problem and argued with me all together, even though I explained the situation multiple times in a reasonable way. At some point I just lost it and started raging, because this kind of service is disgusting. All three of them deserve to be fired immediately, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone as long as these bartenders are still around. I really hope the owner of Shapko sees this review and takes proper action, because uniting against your customers instead of handling things adequately is the worst thing you can do.

Cute jazz bar recommended by the locals! We were looking for chill activities near Old Nice and…read morethis was one. I recommend coming here around 10-10:30 before it gets crowded so you can at least get a seat or have some standing room because it gets packed quickly and then security starts only letting people in if there's room. The live music took a while to set up and they really only started playing around 11-ish. By then, it's super fun and everyone gets into it. In terms of drinks - for the love of god, DO NOT order a cocktail. The wine and beer is where it's at. If there is one thing to take away from this review, it is to order the wine or even a beer! There is little cell signal in the venue but somehow, you can get a few bars near the bar. It's open until 3 AM or so if you're looking to stay out late.

It now hosts collections belong to the city of Cannes with primitive arts from the Himalayas, Tibet, the Artic, pre-Columbian America, Asia, Africa, and the Mediterranean. The museum has a medieval tower that offers a 360 degree view - if you want to climb 109 steps! In my humble opinion, it really is worth it, even for those of us who don't like heights! I think we paid about 12€ each to go into the museum, which I think, for the view alone, was worth it. The museum is pretty small, so I wouldn't allocate more than an hour to it - unless you're a really, really big history buff and can understand French. All the info was in French, so it made it a bit hard for us to really enjoy it as much as I would've another museum. Still, it was nice to walk around and take a look at the historical artifacts that they had on display.

Personally, I feel you can skip the museum. See how few pictures there are on Yelp. There are more of the outside rather than the inside. Service - Self service. Here's the download on this seriously off the beaten path secluded hippie artist village:…read moreDating back to as early as the second half of the ninth century, this little village has been operating autonomously, sans the government of Genoa, since as early as 1429. An earthquake in 1887 led to a series of eviction orders by the police and the tiny city remained in ruins until the mid 20th century when Italian immigrants began to illegally settle. Following the artistic revolution of the 1960's, a small group of international artists claimed the village and began to rebuild the destruction out of the original materials and remains of the ruins, despite the police eviction order. When the Italian authorities arrived at the village to enforce the order, they faced a rowdy group of angry artists and international media representatives. They backed off, and the village has been in the hands of these open minded crafters ever since. We enjoyed glasses of wine, a plate of parma, and fresh vegetables for a seriously low cost (say 11 euros total) aperitivo as we simultaneous took in the expansive view of lush green hills rolling down to the Italian Riviera. The local artisans sat and talked in groups at the tables, and also on blankets out in the nearby field. Conversation, smoking and drinking wine seem to be the modus operandi during the evenings here, and they are in no hurry to serve you or anyone else. Please, be respectful and don't come with a touristic attitude.
