I have been going to the Loft since it opened and also when it was Sets ! The stylists are great…read morethe services are wonderful and the products are fantastic ! My stylist Gerald is great , he always has great ideas for my unruly hair and I always leave happy ! Highly recommend!

I went to this salon a few years ago. I went in for a consult where I asked for a quote on how much…read moreit would cost for layers and to lighten my natural level 7-8 blonde hair, (level 7 in the back, level 8 everywhere else), to an icy platinum blonde. That should have been VERY easy for a professional to accomplish, (I know because I did it MYSELF a few months later and it was PERFECT, smooth, silky Targaryen platinum blond). It literally GLISTENED in the sun! Anyway, like I said, I went as far as booking a consult to avoid being surprised by a CRAZY BLOATED total at the end of the appt. At the consult, the stylist, (a very young lady I was told specialized in "blonding"), was able to SEE my hair for herself and FEEL it, comb through it, and assess its texture, length, etc. BEFORE the actual hair appt. I got a quote of "approx" $300. I agreed and booked the hair appt before leaving. I ended up being charged 500 DOLLARS for what ended up being a warm level 9 blonde, barely ANY lift at ALL yet a HELL of a lot of damage. It took HOURS to apply the hair lightener, despite her already knowing the length and thickness of my hair from the hair consult, (my hair length came to just above my waist). By the time my hair was fully covered, the bleach that was applied at the beginning had been DRY for 45+ minutes, and since DRY bleach STOPS lightening hair, it had just been FRYING my hair that ENTIRE TIME. I couldn't even brush my hair when it was DRY without RIPPING some of my hair out with every brush stroke never mind when it was wet, (it took me half an hour to gently and painstakingly brush it out with a wet brush every time I washed it). It was beyond tedious and ridiculous. I had gotten my hair professionally lightened for YEARS during high school and early university. I KNOW what freshly bleached hair feels like and I've NEVER experienced ANYTHING like that before. The layers, however, were perfect. It's just a SHAME I had to damage my hair every time I brushed it to such an extent that the ends became extremely stressed SO quickly I didn't get to enjoy the definition of the layers for long. :( Anyway, I ended up paying HALF A GRAND, a full $200 DOLLARS over the quote I received at the consult just to get a few layers cut in, because I did NOT get the hair color the stylist FULLY and enthusiastically agreed to being able to deliver at the consult. So I ended up paying $500 DOLLARS for a 15 minute haircut I could have gotten at the mall for $45-50. The excuse the young man gave at the front desk, (because the stylist was suddenly NOWHERE to be found), was that they never know how much "product" they'll end up using....BULLSH*T! They're PROFESSIONALS, it's their JOB to know or WTF is a CONSULT EVEN FOR?!? I would have understood if the "approx $300" quote had been a LITTLE bit off, but 500 DOLLARS is WAAAAY TOO MUCH to be reasonably considered "approx" $300 DOLLARS! Hair salons are one of the ONLY businesses that get away with charging their customers WHATEVER TF they want without being held responsible for failing to deliver the AGREED UPON result/service. If they SAY they can achieve a certain result for an agreed upon price then THEY'D SURE AF BETTER BE ABLE TO. However, they consistently FAIL to hold up their end of the agreement, and STILL have the AUDACITY to charge their clients OUTRAGEOUS prices even when they FAILED to deliver and their customers go home WITHOUT getting what they PAID FOR! Customers have ZERO recourse in these situations and the stylists KNOW IT. In my experience, even though other salons have overcharged me and fell short of delivering a satisfactory result in the past, it's been NOTHING in comparison to THIS SALON'S brazen incompetence, irresponsibility and unethical business practices.
