Patrice is my hygienist for the past few visits and she is great. I can't say the same about the desk staff anymore. The only doctor today is Dr Trapani and seems like he has a difficult case with one of his patients and everyone has to wait without having any of the office staff apologizing for the delay and explaining what's going on. It's time to have at least 2 dentist at all time in the office. I don't come just for x-rays and clean up. The most important part of a dentist visit is the evaluation to keep up with a healthy teeth. I am very disappointed that I a have to advocate for myself to want to be seeing by Dr Trapani, otherwise I was just going to be dismissed until my next appointment. That's unacceptable for a loyal patient.

During my first, consultative visit I got a sales pitch while literally seated in the dental chair. They tried to get me to commit to what the dentist had just told me was an un necessary root canal. The reason for my visit was a cracked tooth, which needs a crown (I'm now scheduled for this procedure at Riverhead Family Dentistry on Thursday of this week) I should have followed my gut instinct to leave, but I let laziness get the better of me as I had already filled out paperwork for my dental insurer. I called to schedule my crown procedure and got another sales pitch for a root canal, which I declined. Then...the fun started! Multiple text messages and confirmations daily. After a dozen txt messages and a half dozen calls, I finally pushed back and asked to stop being harassed. My complaint was parried with the following response "if you want to keep your appointment, you'll need to pay 50% or $700 when you arrive. Do you want to keep the appointment or not?" Wow. I do not. I may, however, go back to see The creepy Beatles display. I'll admit it was interesting.

Dr. Caruso refunded the $300 deposit I'd paid to get the crown and offered to make it right by doing the correct tooth at no extra cost. However I've lost confidence in his work and went to another dentist. Now I have to spend an extra $1,500 to have the wrong crown redone by another dentist as well as another $1,500 to get a crown on the right tooth. I'm very disappointed by this and won't be returning to him.

At first I made the appointment for the following Wednesday, but as the weekend progressed, I knew I needed to be seen sooner, if it was possible. On Monday morning at 8:15, I called the office # and was surprised that Dr. Nevins, himself, had answered the phone (sounded like he was in his car.) He told me to come in at noon that same day. After my consultation with him, he told me he could do the first part of the procedure that same day at 3pm. Since I work in Southampton, it was easy enough for me to go back to work for a few hours and then return to have the work done. Dr. Nevins and his staff are all so sweet, gentle and caring. What a truly, nice group of people. I am so glad that he was referred to me by a friend. I definitely recommend him if you are need of an endodontist.
