This is a small but MIGHTY stationery store! Every time I travel, I check for stationery stores…read more Let me tell you, it's hard to find stores that focus solely on stationery so I was ecstatic when I found one within 2 hours of me. They have a great collection of pens, pencils, notebooks, and some washi among other things. I love that they have a variety of pens you can test out, including fountain pens. The lady who was working at the counter was super friendly, and kindly pointed out I had picked up a fountain pen to buy rather than the rollerball that I wanted. I'm glad she pointed it out because I would've been sad when I got home.

Really fun, beautiful little store in Cincinnati. They're a stationery store; a dying breed! I…read moredidn't actually intend to buy anything when I entered, but I love stationery stores so I had to stop in since it was next door to the other shop I'd stopped in. Paper wings has writing paper; pencils and pens; greeting cards; erasers; so much more. You'll find paper clips--but in fun shapes like cats or bunnies; no standard paper clips here. Lots of washi to use decoratively in your projects. Fountain pens and ink (most of the ink I saw was Lamy, but they may have had other brands I didn't see). Wandering through here kind of made me wish I used pencils, because they had some really cool pencils and even fun pencil sharpeners that I wanted to use (unfortunately, I've hated pencils for just about my entire life; yet still, it was hard to talk myself out of buying those blacking pencils). I left with a bunch of little treasures, including the aforementioned cat-shaped paperclips and several unique greeting cards. I really love to send cards, and tend to go a little overboard when buying them (I have dozens of cards but not a ton of people to send them to), so that was dangerous as soon as I stepped in. But perhaps the item I'm most excited about is the wax sealing tools I bought--a seal that says "hello", pink and bronze colored winkles wax sticks, and a melting spoon. I've thought about buying wax and accessories for a while but I literally never send letters anymore... but then decided since I do love sending cards, it would be nice to add a special little flourish to make personal correspondence just that much more special.

Not as it appears; it's much better! This shop in the KMart shopping center on Dixie Highway has a…read moresmall Hallmark sign along with its own sign and seems rather non-descript. Inside, though, lurks a spacious gift and greeting card store with a little bit of everything: Vera Bradley, jewelry, key chains, stuffed animals, baby gifts, wedding items, photo frames, recipe books, cards and more cards. It's too large to take in all at once, but I saw a bracelet I liked (labeled hand blown glass beads, but I couldn't determine where it was made), some interesting key rings, and a turquoise-themed hand painted tray. Ended up buying the greeting cards I went in for, but I'll keep it in mind for next time I'm shopping for a gift.

While I think this shop has it all over most Hallmark locations because of the extensive array of…read moregift items, collectibles and decorative things, I'm volliyng between a 2 and 3 star rating, merely because, for as many years as I've been coming to this store spending money on cards that people eventually throw away, the staff at Paperphanalia just gets more lackadasical as the years pass. There used to be some very kind middle aged ladies who worked here, who actually offered to help you, who spoke to you and made polite conversation--even offered to hold my baby while I looked at cards instead of juggling the myriad of bags, bottles, etc.. in my hands. The last 4-5 times I've been in this year, the staff is made up of 1-3 younger girls, possibly graduated from high school with the customer service training of a flea. I can buy Hallmark cards at Walgreens. I can't buy all the giftware and adorable, unique baby items and other things anywhere else, but I won't give my money to a store that has lazy, unfriendly staff.
