One of the best things about this place is simply walking around and letting the inspiration come to you! I ended up buying three random trophy stands for sculptures I'm working on, and all three together were only 15 cents! The prices are amazing. You're welcome to donate while checking out, and you can also pay what you feel is fair based on your budget and what you think the item is worth. They do provide a suggested price when you check out, so it doesn't feel like an uncomfortable haggling situation. Whether you're looking for supplies for a craft night with friends, working on your own projects, or just want to browse and get inspired, this is a great place to visit. They also have a small selection of newer items from local artists, including artwork, prints, and jewelry available for purchase. You truly never know what you might find here!

She pointed out a section of the store that I might have missed and pointed out some adorable note cards in my themes. Each artist has a shelf or a little area inside the store. There were some beautiful bird baths and garden stuff. My favorite section of the store is the bookshelf in the back on the left that contains those Arcadia history books. Each one is about a certain piece of Cincinnati's history. Some talk about immigrants, others about neighborhoods, and some about families and companies that have flourished here. I like looking through these books as they are fascinating! I ended up purchasing an "I love OTR" sticker for $2 and am very happy and proud to finally own one. The owner is super sweet and is open most of the time but will open up shop if you have the shop's card and will come down and open it up for you!

The first time we visited, the husband was looking for a specific Christian Moerlein beer poster, and the woman working the register was very nice about trying to help us find it. He settled for a different one, but as we walked back down the street, she had found it and even came out calling for us to see if he wanted to swap. So nice! The owner apparently is open to taking calls if you need her to open up shop for something when they are closed. This is a great store to browse on a lazy OTR walking day, or if you are looking for some interesting gifts or jewelry off the beaten path.

Advent Calendar: I have to confess that I've had an Advent calendar every Christmas for most of my…read morelife and intend to keep getting one for every Christmas season to come. An Advent calendar is essentially a countdown to Christmas beginning on December 1st and lasting until December 24th. There are 24 numbered "doors" or "windows" to open. Behind each one is a piece of chocolate (usually Christmas themed). Popping the chocolate into my mouth each year instantly brings me back to the best Christmases of my childhood. Typically, I opt for a more Christmas themed image, but being the Star Wars fan that I am, I was gifted with a Grogu stylized one from The Mandalorian. This particular calendar is distributed in the U.S. by Galerie Candy, and I believe the chocolate is made by Jean-Talon Chocolate in Canada. My only minor complaint is it seems like a wasted opportunity to not make the chocolates into various shapes from the Star Wars universe (ships, characters, weapons), they are instead the same shapes found in other Jean-Talon Chocolate Advent calendars. Luckily, that means they also have the same great nostalgic taste and are Doughboy approved Doughboy_Food_Reviews
