Very simple interior, in addition to selling cured meats and cheeses, they also offer a delightful array of take-away dishes that look really awesome. Think fresh pasta, brodo and the like. We grabbed parmigiana, aged around 36 months, which is phenomenal. Best paired with balsamic from Modena (the good stuff mind you), it's creamy and brittle in all of the right places, with chunks of salt imbedded in its glory. I really recommend this on your next trip to Parma, remember quality costs!

If you eat in, you can get a mixed plate of items of your choice (you pay by weight) served on a plastic plate. Or you can take out in plastic containers. The food is not cheap, but I feel it was a good value for the taste, ingredients, and variety (and I was also sick of mediocre Italian food and wanted some PROPER VEGETABLES!!). No Big Gulps, but otherwise this place and all of the other Autogrills beat 7-11 hands down in terms of sheer variety. The deli/restaurant actually makes really good quality food. Now, just fix that restroom thing so it's more efficient, and I'll really be a fan of these road stops.

Gam Gam is not a breath of fresh air, although maybe we would have been happier had we thought of it as just another restaurant. After all, tomato sauce makes almost anything delicious.
